I am with you on the first 6 months. I lost my maximum weight the first 3-6 months. Then it slowed down when I reached 175 lbs.
Then I kept it off, until I had complications with internal bleeding from gallbladder surgery.
Then, soon after that, I had my tubes tied and I started to gain.
I don't drink carbonated drinks. But, I do drink sweet tea occasionally. I do live in the south, so sweet tea is our choice of refreshment. Lol
I am NOT complaining about my surgery at all, it has helped me keep my diabetes under control.
My biggest problem right now is carbohydrates. Mostly snacking in between meals.
Ive started taking CLA and Fat Burner along with a lean muscle mass supplement. And drinking at least 3 route 44 waters a day from Sonic. Lol hahaha
I really love the crushed ice, reminds me of a slushie. I think its a mental thing, the crushed ice makes the Water exciting.
My workout schedule needs tweaking. Mostly hit and miss when it comes to the gym.
I have been trying to start walking around every day at our local park.
And along with the Water, and whatnot, I have noticed a significant impact on my bloating and weight gain.
Starting to feel light on my feet again.
I created a secondary page on Facebook, to use as an journal just between me and my counselor. I can keep up with my meals with posting about my meal with a picture. I need a few buddies on Facebook to keep me motivated though.

    Doing well..
Averaging about a pound a week.
    Sometimes less.. Sometimes more.
Eating small meals with Snacks. At times I feel I'm grazing but actually I'm not.. My old self would say that meal is really a snack cuz it's so small.
I have friends who don't know I've had surgery and when they see me log my food they ask... How are you gonna log that lil bit of fish? they just don't know why I'm eating so lil.
Maybe I'll break the news someday. Otherwise doing well.

Haleymarie, don't stress! Stalls are normal. I went through a 30+ day stall starting at 3 weeks. I wanted to cry!! I thought for sure the surgery didn't work! Today, I wanted to cry again...but this time in joy. At 13 weeks post-op, I'm down 50.8lbs! (15 of it was prior to surgery, but I still count it!) Throw away the scale!! For me, it was an epic reminder of past failed weigh loss attempts and made me feel awful about myself. I stopped getting on it, until I felt my clothes getting looser - then I knew I may have a loss and I would jump on. Keep your chin up! It WILL come off!

Yes and yes I did read your post.

Wanting to no longer be obese and on BP meds and not a fasting BS of 150.This due to being 50 - 60 pounds overweight. It's not an easy way out.

Well, I only had 40-50 lbs to lose with ZERO comorbidities. And I went to Mexico to have surgery. So I am one of the people you are referring to. I am not anorexic. No eating disorders. I just want to say, everyone has a story, so while you hate when people are uninformed and judgy regarding your surgery, you are being the same towards mine. I had anxiety and depression from being overweight (although I wasn't obese, so is that ok?). I yo-yo dieted all the time and was only getting older and more overweight. I was on a slippery slope and decided to nip this in the bud and get the surgery before I was morbidly obese with comorbidities. Since surgery I have had zero depression and anxiety. I am in the best shape of my life, workout all the time because it is now easy to, and eat healthier than ever. So judge away and think you have all the answers about who should be getting surgery, but you don't know. You just don't. It literally saved my sanity.

I went to the UC Davis Sports Medicine Clinic. If you Google "RMR testing" and add your geographic area, you should be able to get places that do it.

Guilt is a waste of emotions. I know because I was raised to feel guilty as a Roman Catholic. Lol Changing your behaviors requires, commitment and repeated new behaviors. Give yourself a break. Just don’t give up. Keep moving forward towards better health. Use the healthy map that works for your over all goals. If that means a little sugar every few months then who has the right to judge you. Work at being healthy you are worth it!

I'm very pleased with the amount of restriction I still have with Protein dense meals 4 years out, I can still only eat 3-4oz of meat at a meal. I did a lot research before I had my surgery deciding which one was the best for me (I was self pay, insurance did not cover it) And this is why I chose the sleeve.
It's become a realization to me that I will have to log my food forever. My biggest nightmare is to gain all the weight back. I'm 5-09, and my weight on the day of surgery was 276, lowest weight was 174, current weight is 195, goal weight is 168. Thank you all for the kind words. It's hard not to beat yourself up for regain.

Oh my goodness it's been awhile since I've been here! I only see a few names I recognize!
I had my sleeve on 06/12/12. I lost 102 lbs.
unfortunately I have gained 35lbs within the last two years. About a month ago, I started weighing and logging my food on mfp again. I started gaining when I stopped logging my food and making myself accountable. Since I started logging again I've lost 14lbs. So now I'm 21lbs away from my lowest weight and 27 away from my original goal weight. I'm going to do this. The good thing about my sleeve is even though I fell off the wagon, it's still here to help me.
