  1. I didnt even think I could go this route. I was planning on using my limited vacation pay that was left. Thank you for this thread. Going to look into this tomorrow with my HR. I was going to go back to work after 6 days.
  2. This is exactly what I do at home. A double espresso with SF hazelnut syrup and skim milk frothed. I have not seen the fairlife milk. Is it here on the west coast? Or is there an alternative?
  3. January 20th. Starting Pre Op today. Good luck to all the sleevers this week!!
  4. Congrats that you are doing so well Justin. If you are listening to your Doctors discharge orders and getting in the amount of Protein as ordered, you are doing great! Keep up the great work.
  5. You can get back on track. you have the tools dont get down on yourself. The process works. Let us know how you are doing.
  6. January 20th. I start preop tomorrow. yikes!
  7. I went for the band in 09 and I'm returning for the gastric sleeve. Wouldnt have it any other way. In fact I was there today for an unfil of my band. What I would like different? Be on a balcony overlooking the ocean for recovery. lol
  8. Totally do this for you! Once I hit 40 I saw my blood pressure and blood sugars start to creep up as well as my weight. I want to be healthy before I hit 50. I"m going to Mexico as well. Jan 20th. Good luck!
  9. I love this book and the author. The devotional is a 60 day one I believe.
  10. Burping up blood, not coughing? and how much? blood tinged? bright red? I would think this could be ok after having Gastric surgery as your stomach is connected to your esophagus where you eat and burp, not your trachea, which is used for breathing and coughing. If it continues always call your surgeon. Stick to your discharge orders. Congrats.
  11. So encouraging to hear. I've had my band since 09. Getting it removed and going to sleeve Jan 20th. I had all the issues with mine as you did with yours.
  12. Since waiting for them to start the 2016 thread, I know there are many who are having surgery in January. What are some of your dates? Mine is January 20th. I'm starting the liquid diet this week and not looking forward to it. Being realistic. Liquids for a month does not appeal but in the long run will be worth it I know.
  13. Same here. I lost about 30 pounds total with a lot of difficulty. My band then did slip. had an unfil and never the same since. Looking forward to the removal and getting the sleeve in 3 weeks.
  14. congrats. Right around the corner. I'm Jan 20th. I dont know if I'm thrilled or terrified either. Reading people having a difficult time getting fluids down post op to losing and feeling great to then reading sleevers gaining a year or 2 out. I"m ready to have this tool though. I'm tired of being tired.
  15. Having to start Blood Pressure meds and being told I was Diabetic. Enough
  16. Keep us posted on your progress. I can not wait to have the band removed from all the vomiting.
  17. Thank you for the reassurance. I was hoping other banders who have gone to the sleeve would have more normalicy. I can not stand the PB or slime with this band. Eating out is a chore as I find I have to get up to the bathroom at least 2x a week. Thanks Congrats! This is wonderful news to hear. I was hoping this was the case.
  18. Are you saying you used to PB and slime with your band and since the sleeve you have not?
  19. When banded the food gets stuck and causes excess mucus therefor causing it to slime.
  20. Definitely sounds like you slime less or near not at all with the sleeve. With the band it can be a daily thing. very frustrating. looking forward to having it removed
  21. Well... I've heard pros and cons of both. Are you not bypassing all your stomach in the bypass?
  22. I am going in for a revision, lap band to sleeve. I could not take the PB or slime a few times a week. My band is considered a failure. Do you with the sleeve still have any slime or PB? I hated having to pull over the side of the road or leave from a restaurant because food would get stuck and I would have to vomit. frustrating. Curious if this still occurs with the sleeve. Thanks
  23. I am in the same place you are. I was banded in 2009 and put on almost all but 10 pounds. I did have a small slip 3 years ago and had a complete unfill. a few months later they did a fill. Now I have 1.2 in my band and they advised to not go higher. That was 3 years ago. That is when my weight gain started. I am now going to have the band removed and have the Gastric Sleeve 1/20. When in doubt, always get a 2nd opinion.
