  1. On day 4 of the pre op. Amazed how I'm not craving any solid foods.... Yet
  2. I was going to use my sick/vacation pay as well but really don't want to use it all for recovery if not needed. Disability insurance requires I use vacation/pto the first week and then disability kicks in. My guess is if I'm denied disability I fall to FMLA which I would prefer.
  3. This is good to hear. I too have the 4cc band. Hoping not too much scar tissue is there and I can heal quickly. Currently on day 4/14 of all liquid diet because of the revision.
  4. These are awesome recipes. How do we save these? Is there a recipe section these can be posted to? Or are they already there?
  5. Interesting. Well I'll be mentally prepared if only the band is done. I'll be okay with that. Heal and then go back.
  6. I was just told I need to file a disability claim first. If that is denied it would then go to FMLA Have you heard of this?
  7. A lapband term for Productive Burp... it is basically vomiting. Especially common when something is too large or coarsely chewed up to pass through the band... if it cant go down, it comes up. Yep a Productive Burp. But since I did it all I find a distinction from slime or vomit. You will literally cough up a chunk of food. Nasty. The slime was insane. Could throw up that crap for a good half hour. Just clear gooey slime. Oh the love hate with the band will forever live on in my heart. LOL I'm so looking forward to the slime to end when I get the sleeve. I'm hoping for consistency. I never knew what would make me slime. It could be different every day
  8. How is your recovery so far? I see Dr Ortiz 1/20
  9. My band slipped. Fluid removed and then had a full and never got back the restriction. I was always slimming or vomiting and never knew what food would do it. When my weight creeped back up and I was still slimming I decided to just have it removed. Then read about the sleeve. I'm looking for consistency. Tired of always going to the restroom at a restaurant regardless of what I eat
  10. I loved WW. Kept my weight down for years ... When I was younger. I was on it recently and know it works. Lost 10 to only gain it back.
  11. congrats on getting through day 7! I thought I could never do this prep diet. I'm working through day 3 and surprising myself.
  12. Did you have a band as well removed during surgery?
  13. I personally am getting a little tired of a certain poster bashing the gastric sleeve when they have not had the procedure done themselves. Someone asks for advice it's always best to let them know to do their research and discuss with their doctor. To flat out say the gastric sleeve is a "fad" is wrong and not true. I'm glad you've found success with the RNY procedure but others have had great success with the sleeve as well.
  14. btw .. we now have an official thread to post under 2016.
  15. Keep us posted on your progress. I can not wait to have the band removed from all the vomiting. So far I'm doing pretty good, I only had 24 lbs to lose so I'm losing slower than most. I've lost 14 lbs so far since 12/14/15. No vomiting at all with the sleeve. The first month of eating liquid and soft food sucks!! I start on normal food in about a week and a half, can't wait!! Nice to hear. I want to lose 65 pounds. Trying to get out of my mind that I will be on liquids for a month........and today is day 2 of preop. yikes.
  16. I"m having mine done in one surgery. Im going to Mexico where my band was placed and I will be there for 5 days.
  17. Seems that there are many threads about January sleevers, but now we have a place to call home. My surgery is January 20th. I'm having my band removed and sleeve at the same time. Currently talking my way through day 2 of this preop all liquid diet... help!
  18. What happens when it gets stuck? I had the band and if food got stuck I would have to slime or vomit. Every time.
  19. Gonna try the SF pudding mix.. I'm finishing day 2 pre op. I can do this is all I keep telling myself
  20. I LOVE the baked quest bars! I put them under the broiler and then flip them.. So good!! The white chocolate raspberry is my fave
  21. I'm pre op but I know when ever I am successful at cutting out the crap, it's because I'm journaling all my intake. I use my fitness pal, great app and I got a fit bit to keep me motivated. Good luck!
  22. Diffuser and oils.. I had not thought of that. Were they helpful?
  23. Congrats! I'm on day 2 of the pre op.. Killin me. Pushing through
  24. Did she say why the Calcium in the milk doesn't count? Calcium is calcium regardless of the source.
