    Vitamin Patches

I've been using Patch MD vitamins. 6 month follow-up = Needed vitamin D supplement. 9 month follow-up = Vit D still not optimum and Folate borderline. All other labs normal. Not waterproof. No residue.

    Vitamin Help Please :)

I started on Bariatric Advantage chewables, then switched to Patch MD multivitamins after the first month. Eating 2 caramel calcium chews per day. My 3 month labs were all in the normal range. Vitamin D was on the low side of normal, but up from what it has been in the past. My Dr. doesn't have a problem with his patients using them -- but did warn me to make sure the patches don't come off when the heat of summer rolls around. You might give them a try.
  3. I started on Bariatric Advantage chewables, then switched to Patch MD multivitamins plus after the first month. Eating 2 caramel calcium chews per day. My 3 month labs were all in the normal range. Vitamin D was on the low side of normal, but up from what it has been in the past. The folks at my clinic don't have a problem patients using them as they've seen good results, but did warn me to make sure the patches don't come off when the heat of summer rolls around.
  4. You might want to consider the PatchMD multivitamin that you wear. I'm almost 4 months out, been using the patches for 2 months and my 3 month labs all came back in the normal range - I still chew calcium and take B12 shots. Oh, and my Dr. approves.

    Vitamins...yuck

Not sure about wearing 2 at once, but I've wondered about it since they have so many options.
  6. I had my surgery on 1/5/16 and noticed my hair is starting its fall-out phase today. Dr. said it would be closer to 6 months post-op. I guess I'm an early bloomer. :-(
  7. I don't work for the company -- completely non-biased here. I just wanted to share with y'all that my 3 month labs came back with everything in the normal range after using the Patch MD transdermal multivitamin the past 2 months instead of chewables. I take calcium chews and B12 shots. My Vitamin D was in the lower range of normal, so I'm going to supplement that separately, but it's actually gone up since the last time it was tested. Here's hoping my 6 month results hold steady. I'll post if they don't.
  8. Yep, pretty much spot on for me. Started at 253. Down to 210 at 3.5 months. I'm 5'6".

    Down 70Ibs

Congrats!! I had my surgery the same day as you. I'm down 37# from 253 on 1/5 and feeling like I'm losing too slowly. I thought I would be down 50# by now. What was your weight on surgery day?

    2 days post-op

I had mine on 1/5/16. Following!
  11. It probably won't be a problem, just communicate with your surgeon about it. I had gall bladder removed laparoscopically in the past, as well as a "crash" emergency c-section (under full anesthesia and cut vertically straight down my abdomen). Neither of those procedures (or scars) were an issue.
  12. I was sleeved yesterday and I just got home from the hospital. Now the real fun begins! I was prepared for the pain to be a lot worse today, but is hasn't been that bad. So, I will brace myself for tomorrow. Do you recall which day your pain "peaked" and when you noticed it subsiding?

    Dr. Kim in Texas

You may also want to check the self-pay options with Dr. Scott Stowers at My Bariatric Solutions in Texas. He has offices in N. Fort Worth/Alliance and Decatur. He has a mobile unit and works with a lot of patients who travel in. (And he went to school in OK ????) http://mybariatricsolutions.com/dr-scott-stowers-bariatric-surgeon I'm scheduled for surgery tomorrow, so I can't speak for that part of it yet, but Dr. Stowers and his staff have been timely, courteous, and have worked to streamline the whole process for me. Less than 8 weeks from initial appt. to surgery for me. Best of luck!
