Did you loose friends?
I didn't tell my best friend before surgery, but once I started losing I told her because shes such a support with the health stuff. She has been really helpful and makes sure that whenever we eat out I can find something on the menu. Hopefully, you're friend doesn't get upset and will support you.

Coworkers...
@@Renkoss I'm almost a year out, so I think I could eat more than one. I might get sick but I could do it. Plus, we were with Girl Scout cookies and they are of course a little smaller than normal cookies

What do you eat? Am I eating too much?
Yesss!! Thank you..that helps me greatly!! I needed some type of direction...they have some out there that are horrible..(sugar content!) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using the BariatricPal App I either eat Quest or Oh Yeah! One bars. If you got the oh yeah! Route make sure you get the "one" their other are the high sugar ones. I didn't mind the pure protein ones, but I prefer the others. Pure protein ones are cheaper though.

Are Your Family Members Overweight and Which of Them Supported You?
My mom had the surgery in 2007, so she understood why I wanted it. She didn't want me to have it because of the complications she's had, but she also knew how hard it was to lose the weight and keep it off without surgery. We were really the only overweight people in our family.

Coworkers...
@ I agree that it's good to, but for me personally I don't think it's possible. I'm a food addict and especially a sweets addict, so for me it's just wouldn't be possible to eat just one. If I could I definitely would just eat one every now and then. Maybe one day I will get there, but not today haha.

Coworkers...
We were setting up refreshments at work today for an event and we were talking about food. I made the comment that I don't trust myself to eat just one (sweets are a trigger food). A lady goes "you have to learn to eat just one cookie.." I'm sure some of y'all can eat just one, but if it's a trigger food there is no way I'm eating just one. For me it's the same as if she told an alcoholic to have just one beer. It's going to lead to a lot more. /end rant

Let's talk Maintenance and Calories / Macronutrients
My nut said for me to get up to 1500 when I work out. I've been eating around 1500 everyday and I have not or gained any weight but I increased slowly to make sure.

Those who drink diet pop post-op {Only nice comments PLEASE}
I was never a diet soda drinker, but I have had a few sips of regular soda when a dr made me drink caffeine. I could barely stomach two sips before I had to throw it away because of the way it made me feel. Like others have said, you might not like the way it feels when you drink it.

Stigmas
I was 23 when I had mine. Only two people knew that I was having it: my mom and my friend. I just told my coworkers that I was having surgery. Some noticed the food and figured it out afterwards, but thankfully they were nice about it. I told my best friend after the fact and she's so helpful when we are together making sure I can find something healthy to eat. When I tell people I find out that they know people that had it and it did wonders so they are nice about it b

What Is the Craziest Thing You’ve Ordered at a Restaurant?
If I'm eating with my mom we split meals where it's a "choose 2" so they are already smaller portions. Some places I get the kids meal, if not I have a to go plate for later!

What's your favorite chicken salad recipe?
I'm picky about my chicken salad, but I did find a pre made on at target with Greek yogurt, cranberries and almonds. It's in .5 cup servings, so I can grab and go!

Sugar free ice cream?
Look up Halo ice cream, I haven't tried it yet myself (not a huge ice cream person), but the reviews make it seem good and the nutrition isn't bad either.

Protein Shake and dumping syndrome!
The only way I can drink protein shakes is making them myself. I use Bariatric foodies' recipes and they are so good! My fav is vanilla protein powder, frozen strawberries and coco and it's like a Neapolitan ice cream. I add add also to make it thick and its like a milkshake

Trouble getting in more calories

Rice? Pasta? Bread?
I didn't bread or rice until I was at goal and I don't eat it often. Rice feels weird and I feel too full after bread. Pasta I haven't really gone there.

Severely depressed after mini gastric bypass
I also vomited blood after my bypass. I always get sick from anesthesia so I was expecting, but didn't expect all the blood. (Add on that it was during a nurse shift change and it took forever). I was still delirious from the surgery and scared because of all the blood. It happened twice and that was it. Hopefully you start turning the corner and feel better.

Study of Season 8 "Biggest Loser" Contestants re Weight Regain Causes
When I was younger I wanted to do a biggest loser type diet, little did I know how much they work out and how little they eat. I'm glad that I never did anything like that. I am also curious what my metabolic rate is.

Looking for Breakfast Ideas
I did applesauce on my soft food phase and you can add unflavored protein powder. I'm lucky I haven't had any issues with eggs and I will eat yogurt for breakfast. Sometimes I eat leftover dinner for breakfast though. I found a recipe for "breakfast brownies" that's made from peanut butter, bananas, protein powder and unsweetened cocoa. I usually make them when my bananas are going bad. But not sure they will work for you right now since you are in soft food phase.
