  1. Thanks Mary Rose...that is nearby for me!
  2. You're very welcome...best of luck to you on this journey!
  3. I chose the band for similar reasons. I didn't like the idea of the rerouting & malabsorption of the bypass. My surgeon asked me the same question and said that there was no "right answer" he just wanted to be sure I'd thought it through. But then he did tell me it would take me 2 yrs to lose what a bypass patient would lose in 9 mos-1 yr which made me feel a bit discouraged. I am now 8.5 mos post op and have lost 110 lbs and went from a size 24 to a size 10! I've been very focused on the strict protein diet my program prescribes and have tried to incorporate exercise as much as possible. So, don't let your surgeon discourage you from doing what you think is the right thing for you!
  4. Dr. Schulman, thank you for all of the information you've posted here. Do you know of any plastic surgeons specializing in body contouring after weight loss in the Boston area? I'm considering a breast lift/augmentation and possibly a TT (if I should hit the lottery!).
  5. I made it...over 100lbs lost! :scared2: Woo hoo!
  6. Banded the day after Christmas, I've lost 100 lbs (including pre op diet)! I no longer have an "x" in any size that I wear (that was almost as gratifying as hitting onederland!!). Congrats to all of you and your successes too!
  7. I've lost over 100 lbs; my size 12's are getting loose on me and damn; it feels good to be a "loser!"
  8. Nymoosic, what do you mean abou the reflux when you're at the sweet spot?
  9. I am closing in on the 100lb mark (weight loss to date) and can't wait to hit that mark!
  10. I too get the hiccups when I'm full and/or need to stop. I went through a period of lots of PB'ing in early April and realized that I wasn't listening to my body when something was going down sluggish or when I was full. Since then I try to really pay attention to how things feel as they go down, how much I'm chewing, or if I get the hiccups...a definite sign I'm done, and I've done much better now!
  11. Don't obsess over perfection. You will never be satisfied and it's a slippery slope!
  12. The new me feels great! I want to feel even greater!
  13. I use the GNC 100% whey Protein powder mixed with 8-10 oz of skim milk. For each scoop: Calories: 110 (does not include the milk) Fat 1.5 g Total Carbs 4g Protein 20g I like the strawberry and find it tasty as well as satisfying.
  14. ...I'm only about 14lbs away from "c-ville" (losing 100lbs!) and even lost on vacation last week. What a plan!!
  15. I've surpassed my goal of 195 by June 1st...I'm down to 191.3 today! Yipee!!
  16. Thanks everyone, I appreciate all of the positive thoughts! Now I'm down to about 14 lbs to go. I continued to lose even though I was on vacation in Ormond Beach Fl last week...yeah!
  17. C meaning the roman numeral for 100...I'm counting down to 100lbs lost (though I still have a way to go, I've got my eye on the prize!) So...19 lbs to go! How about you?
  18. Linda Lu:.......228.......195...........195.9.........20.2 I'm almost there! Slow and steady wins the race!
  19. ...I stick to the plan and the fat doesn't stick to me! What a plan! :cool2:
  20. Woo Hoo!....strike up the band!!! I'm joining many of you in Onderland!! 199.2 today!:blushing:
  21. I deserve weight loss success!
  22. Congrats to all of you for making it to Onederland! I am currently stuck just a few pounds away...it was my TOM last week so I was up 1-2 lbs; I'm very consistent with sticking to my diet, so I know it's not my eating. I've been out walking in this beautiful weather and did some raking over the weekend too. I'm hopeful that this week I'll get back to some progress! I really can't wait to see that number on the scale!
  23. ...I'm only 3 lbs away from Onederland and I'll only get there if I stick to the plan!
  24. Glad you made it back down to 199 Renewed! How about a victory "lap" (exercise) instead of food this time!
