ibedebi got a reaction from InnerFitnessModel in When are you able to start running?
InnerFitnessModel - you sound just like me. I used to be a runner too, and can't wait to get back into it. My surgery is still a month away, but I would like to keep up on your progress. I know you're anxious, but a month does sound a little soon. Better ask your doc. ????

I am 35 years old and I currently have a BMI of 34. I have been every BMI number from my highest BMI of 40 to my lowest BMI of 25 (with the help of prescription meds, diet, and lots of EXERCISE). I have been on this diet roller coster for 20 + years and I am done with it! I am done with the feelings of guilt for eating a peice of MY birthday cake, I am tired of working my butt off to lose just a little bit of weight and low and behold gain it back and then some! i am totally done with my cholesterol being 280!!!!!!!!!!! I am tired of being on dangerous diets, starving myself, running till my knees are completely sore and the plantar faciatis flares up, taking amphetamine prescription meds that are surly not doing my body good, all to gain it all back! Why wait till my BMI is back up to 40 or more and all the comorbidities that go with it? Why wait till you have stretched all your skin out and have to have MORE surgery to remove it? Why abuse your body until that magical day when you are totally unhealthy and can NOW have the surgery because NOW everyone is ok with it? Why not take care of business now and get on with living life? So as of Jan 13,2015, GAME OVER! This girl is getting off the roller coaster and getting on with life! I cannot wait for this new way of eating and living! See this is a change for the rest of our lives not till this diet ends or till I get to goal! It's FOREVER and I can't wait!! ???????? I pray and hope that you all have the best success and I applaude you all for being advocates of YOUR own health!

You don't need to give anyone a reason for what you do. It is your decision. Say something like, "Oh, I had no idea you were an expert in the field of what is best for me!" It normally shuts people up.

When I first tried to get authorization from my insurance company back in November 2013 for surgery, I was at 35. And the surgeon I was going with told me to make sure I did not lose anymore weight. So I ended up gaining weight just to make sure I did not get denied but got denied anyway.
I am tall and wear my weight well (if there is such a thing) and I also had a Tummy Tuck from years ago so my stomach is still flat.So of course some people frown upon wls as an option for me. But what people have to realize is that they do not know ones story and journey in life when it comes to obesity and weight management and dieting, etc. Yo-yo dieting is a contributing factor to enlarged organs. My sister died in 2008 of obesity and an enlarged heart. She was 28.
Judge lest not ye be judged people!!

My doc said a month was okay to start slow jogging, but if it didn't feel right to wait for 6 weeks.

ibedebi got a reaction from Mz.W in Anyone scheduled for March?
I'm scheduled for late March, pending approval from my insurance. Just trying to get all of the prerequisites done and work on the new lifestyle transition. I'm addicted to Diet Cokes. Giving them up is going to be one of the hardest things to do.
How are you doing in working on the transition?

Who the hell is saying this stuff? Curious, is it another woman who might have a thing for your man? Was it said as some sort of weird compliment? You know, "Oh, you were obese before so not desirable, but now you're thin and everyone will want you" sort of thing. (We won't even discuss how twisted that logic is.)
Next time it's said to your face, tell them, "Too bad because I love my husband. He's the best and loves me for me. Who wants a shallow-assed bastard who only wanted them for their looks? Sheesh."
