Oh, and my hair is now falling out. Not enough to cause bald spots, but the shower drain and sink look like they're growing their own fur at this point. Yuck!! Hope that stops soon.

Had a wonderful evening with my TWAW girls. This group has been such an inspiration. The confidence that i have now knowing i can defend myself, whether it's physical or with a weapon is empowering. Go look them up https://thewellarmedwoman.com/

I entered into the 160's today! 169.6. I haven't weighed this in years. It feels so amazing to be freed of that obese body!

Dear Calves... PLEASE shrink already! I was so looking forward to wearing boots this year.
-
3 inches in each calf is awesome! I think I've lost less than 1 inch in each calf in the almost 3 months since surgery. Staying at 16 inches. I purchased boots with the high hope of it working out.. I think I will hang on to them (got a deal during Nordstrom sale) and hope that they fit in a few months.. if not I will look into having them stretched.

10 weeks and 53 pounds lighter. Other people see a difference, but I'm struggling to look in the mirror and see big changes. I feel a world of a difference and am immeasurably happier.

Week one of the Mirena is over. Suddenly my month long stall is broken. Hmmm. My skin is being sort of bitchy but it's manageable. Still hoping I may have actually found the best option for me and not another problem!

I love my Mirena! Well, the second time around. I got it right after giving birth to my son and HATED it and had it removed 5 months later... but had another put in 6 years later and couldn't be happier. PCOS symptoms drastically went down.. and because I'm not constantly forgetting to take a pill my husband gets lucky more often

I have my 3 month check-up tomorrow. Down nearly 50 lbs since surgery day. Better yet I lost a whopping 8 inches from my waist, 5 inches from my thighs! Shopping is fun again. Everything is fun again. I have to figure out how to post pics so I can show off. The ego boost is real.

How much more fun would this world be if everyone loosened up a little and took themselves a lot less seriously?

Hellooooo soft foods! I've been dreaming about you for weeks :-)

I'm getting a bad pain by the large incision every time I bend over. Like I'm squishing something in there and it's NOT happy. Hoping nothing serious.

Today is 12 months post-RNY! A whole year already, it's mind-boggling! My sloowww loss in the last several months picked up quite a bit this month and I lost 12 pounds. I'm down 180 since surgery and 243 pounds since my heaviest two years ago. The difference two years can make... Expect a longer and more detailed post later today, with before and current pictures! Thank you so much for all of your support and kindness, everyone! Couldn't have made it here without you. <3

apparently I don't sweat like I used to - thank goodness. Spent saturday afternoon outside (99 degrees here in philly area, heat index well over 100), touring Fordhook Farm - a local garden and research facility for the Burpee seed company. Barely broke a sweat, drank plenty of water. 3 hrs walking around, no knee or back pain either. LIFE IS GOOD!!!

Protein shakes are getting to be so difficult to choke down. I'm soooooooo over them.

Sure.....we can all just get along. However.....we can also take it to a higher level by nudging some silly notions outa each other's noggins from time to time. I know for a damn fact that my trajectory has been improved a number of times by the vets here....who posted their opinions that were clearly against my grain and yet their wisdoms hit home. There is no substitute for experience. My opinion is that only a fool would shirk that wisdom, when provided. I've learned to listen carefully.....evaluate and then either incorporate it or call it rubbish and move on. I'm all about not reinventing the wheel. If a template for success is laid out in front of me......why in the hell do I want to venture down an alternate path ???????? I'm a hardheaded guy and don't listen well at times......but I've become a quick study when needed......in crunch times. I consider the health scares I've had the year leading up to my VSG such a "crunch time". I've listened carefully to those who've gone before me......and I am better for it. I've learned to accept life according to the words of a woman that I cherish......"Suck it up Buttercup" and move forward. Only a damn fool would denounce the collective wisdoms of successful patients who've made 2+ years and beyond and are rocking the results. Only a damn fool.................

I'm a newb and am learning so much from the vets on here. Where better to turn for advice than to the people who have walked this exact path. Unfortunately some people are too hardheaded or have such an inflated ego that they refuse to accept help or any constructive feedback. WE ARE ALL LEARNING, you are not above that!! I'll keep going down this path and I hope the vets stick around to help us avoid some of the speed bumps
