  1. Dbowers- just be careful and let your surgeon know what's going on. You don't want to wind up with a cough when you have a bunch of sutures on your body- That would just hurt way too much!!! Best of luck to you- keep us posted! And GrosseFemme- You have the Best Surgery Date EVER!
  2. I was supposed to be banded on 4/30- but my new date is 5/20... I got sicky poo and have to wait...
  3. Don't worry- I'm not giving up... I just figure I'm not supposed to have the surgery this week... I guess I didn't realized I was getting sick and some higher power made it happen before the surgery to avoid additional pain... The cough is rough and deep. It will be very painful to have sutures and a cough! If I have to wait another couple of weeks, so be it. There are worse things in life than having to be patient! I'll call tomorrow to check in the surgeon and see what they have to say. No fever thank God! I took some tylenol earlier, but I can't get rid of this heaviness in my chess.
  4. Thank you guys... I have a gift card to Macy's from Christmas that I was saving for clothes, but I'm going to check out the bullet tonight! LOL
  5. I'm scheduled for April 30th, but not feeling well... Will probably have to wait a while now :huh2:
  6. Can anyone recommend a good blender to purchase... Some say the Magic Bullet, some say the Wand, some say just buy premade food... What's a girl to do??? :huh2:
  7. I woke up yesterday with little cough and today, I have a sore throat a cough and dry heaves :w00t:( YUK :huh2: My surgery is scheduled for Wednesday... I guess I will have to postpone my journey- but I believe Everything happens for a reason... Hopefully tomorrow I'll wake up good as new and we won't have to worry! Yes, I have HIGH HOPES!
  8. Oh SkiGirl... First, congrats on making the decision to have the surgery! I want you to remember that you are a wonderful and caring person. I don't have to "know" you to feel that way about you. I can tell you that I had a lot of lost loves because of my weight and I'm so glad they are out of my life now. This may seem drastic, but you really need to find a new friend. No matter how many times he says he's sorry- he is not your friend. He knows you like him and he thrives on that. Stop calling him, saying 'yes' if he calls you to go out- do not enable him in the least bit. Let him wonder what is going on with you... Basically play hard to get. You will find not only is it fun, but by the time he realizes that you may be the One- you will have already moved on and found happiness with someone who truly deserves you. No matter who you are with, they will know that you had the band- once you lose weight, you will be able to see it and feel it. If they cannot accept the fact that you were once overweight...they are not the one for you either. I'm sorry I'm rambling, but this just really hit home for me. Yes, I'm married now, but my weight is putting a strain on my relationship with my husband. Even though I was heavy when we met, I was 70lbs lighter- and when you're 5'2", that's a TON! I wish you luck and I wish you strength... You are better than some guy who can't be sensitive to your feelings.
  9. Hope2BHealthy - You're absolutely right... great suggestions from you too! Thanks a Bunch!
  10. Thank you soooo much... I'm getting banded on Wednesday and this is just what I needed for my shopping trip this weekend... I have a gift card for Macy's, so I'm going to buy the Magic Bullet Blender! I hear it's a life saver for this surgery!
  11. My doctor told me I'd go home the same day and that I should start walking, slowly and a little at a time, but not to spend too much time "resting"... It prevents blood clots and helps you recover quicker. I hate the hospital and never get any rest while I'm there... I'm glad I get to be home with my family... But you have to do what makes you feel comfortable and happy... Best of Luck to you!
  12. I had my appointment yesterday and the doc told me no need for a diet, just Do Not Gain anything prior to surgery! I have to fast starting at 10pm the night before surgery. (no problem- not a night eater) So today I had a light breakfast, soup for lunch, and will have more soup for dinner I think. Because I am a cash customer, my pre-op is this Tuesday and surgery is scheduled for Wednesday! My BMI is 51! OUCH!
  13. I think I'm going to post a PCOS Thread... Too many of us have it and I would love to learn how the symptoms are being handled post-surgery! I really am anxious to see what happens... Thank you for all the support! I love these threads. They are really helping me along...
  14. My Pre-op Testing is complete! I am so anxious for all the results to be in so I can have my appointment with my surgeon!!! :glare: I am sooooooooo ready to get started with the whole thing. I have PCOS and this is the sure cure for all those horribly disgusting side effects. (Poly-cystic Ovarian Syndrome) :sigh: I also suffer from GERD and this will surely cure that as well! I'm going to feel like a whole new person... Anyone have any ideas for Pre-Op liquid diet? I've already started to buy Slim-Fast, but I know I'll be starving! I love Jell-o and drink broth often- is that all there is to drink? I'm so lost and cannot even begin to think outside the box on this... Maybe I'll be a May Flower??? How exciting!!! WOOHOooooo P.S. I'm going to Mexico April 2009- I'm going to wear a BATHING SUIT instead of shorts and a t-shirt in the pool!!!!!!!!!!
  15. My surgeon gave me a list of PCP's that support WLS... I found one that is amazing and on my insurance! Maybe you should try asking your surgeon... Good Luck!!!
  16. My surgeon gave me a list of doctors to see that were on my insurance that they knows would approve of the surgery. My PCP would never do it. He recommended me to a nutritionist and that was all he would do. So I have an appointment with a new doctor on the 27th. She will order my pre-tests and I should be good to go by May 1st!
  17. Hey Quinn, Congrats to you on your decision to be banded, I too have been putting in countless hours trying to decide on the best procedure, time, and doctors. Congrats on the engagement as well... Best of Luck to you!!!
