About Me

I'm a 60-yr-old writer & artist who's struggled with weight issues all my life. I had lap-band surgery in September 2007 and lost 90 lbs, but damage from decades of "silent" reflux caused enough problems to warrant removing my band. In August 2012 I had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy, and am now 18 lbs below my goal weight. I don't like my sleeve and will probably always be a bandster at heart. My WLS journey has hit some rough patches along the the way, but I don't regret it. It was the smartest thing I ever did for my health, both physical and mental.

I've published 2 WLS self-help books:

Bandwagon, Strategies for Success with the Adjustable Gastric Band

Bandwagon Cookery
