You will get your energy back, you need to be patient.
The sooner you are able to reach your Protein target on a daily basis, the sooner you will feel better.
Be gentle with yourself and rest. You are healing from major surgery.
Focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids, take your Vitamins and supplements as instructed, and exercise moderately (walking is great early out).

I had my VSG 8 days ago. I was very active before surgery, and attribute that, at least partly, to my quick recovery. I knew I would not get a lot of calories from the time I started my liquid diet (3 days pre-op) and for weeks post-op. But it is really hitting me how little my body is getting! I struggle to get more than 200-300 calories a day, even with Protein drinks. The past couple days I have been feeling really weak! My doctor said I shouldn't be getting more than 500 calories/day for the first 2 months. I have 3 young children, a part-time job, and love being active, but I don't know how to do it all with such low energy. I am taking my Vitamins, drinking about 50 oz of Water, and getting in about 45 grams of Protein (That's all I can fit in my stomach at this point in recovery), and getting enough sleep. I just want to sit/lie down all day. How do you all do it?

Nope because I've cooked somewhat healthy for the past few years my children eat what I cook. I'm 11 weeks out now though so I'm not sure what you're eating but I make a lot of baked chicken, fish, zoodles, seafood. Salad's. Not sure how far you are out but I also still buy some of the same things for them to eat so that they don't feel like they are being punished.

Thanks. I saw my surgeon yesterday and yes, they took me off my blood pressure meds. Because I hadn't taken it in 24hrs and my blood pressure was still only 111 /61 in his office yesterday and my blood sugar was only 64, so they took me off that medication too. They also did blood work and my potassium was low too, so they increased that.
    So problem solved. Yay!
Thanks so much for all the responses from everyone, it really helped! !!!!!

I cannot believe it is 4 months. Now the worrying and wondering for 3 years prior seems like a blur. I remembered when I finally decided it had to be done, I just kept thinking, it is like having to have my gallbladder removed, I just had to do it, but this time it was 80% of my stomach. I am so grateful for the sleeve. Sure there are times, like Thanksgiving, when the turkey was so good, I missed not being able to eat more of it, but then I was also grateful that I could not eat any more. Very hard to get used to, but I try not to think that much about it and just go with the flow. I am 57lbs down since July, so that includes pre-op. I keep feeling like I am behind, but finally I can feel and see the difference. Especially in pictures, wow what a difference. I cannot wait to be on onederland, but slow and steady and not hurrying it up, letting it takes it's course. I keep thinking, the doc did his part, I am doing mine and that's all we can do. Thanks to everyone at BP, for being a part of this.

Same thing with me. I can't even drink anything for hours afterwards. That's why today, I'm starting with my Protein shakes and Water.
And then later this evening if I get hungry I will attempt a meal. Because my nutritionist said it's more important to get fluids in than food at this point.
So that's what I'm going to concentrate on today and see how it goes.

It is very normal to only get in that amount of calories. The Protein is what is most important. I was fortunate that I could drink Protein shakes, Premier, I still drink one every AM, and I am almost 4 months out. 30gms per shake. Have you tried the protein powders, I like Bariatric Advantage, 27gms protein, and I add blueberries, or banana, flavored yogurt, fat free milk of any kind, etc. Some people really like the unjury drinks, 40gms of protein per serving. I was fortunate to get in my protein from the first week, and I think it will make a difference in how well you heal and how you feel. Try whatever you can to meet the 70-80gms of protein a day, at least that was the requirement for me in my program. I am now up to 100-120gms a day. Good luck

I was sleeved on 11/18. So far, things have been going well. I have lost about 14 pounds since my surgery. I recently started purees and I am not even close to the Protein intake that I need. I can't stomach Protein Shakes, I HATE THEM. I physically can't get them down without gagging and giving up on them. I am only able to eat 1/4 cup of food at a time, which I try to add unflavored Protein Powder to but it still isn't enough. I am tracking my caloric intake in a food diary and am only getting to about 400-600 calories a day. I can't imagine that this is healthy. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Haha same here! I did a chicken with a little guac. Ate 1 1/2 tbsp (maybe) so full after for hours. I never thought I would have to force food in!!

Yeah I am 16 days post op and tried purée this afternoon. I had some purée chicken breast with some siracchi for flavor. I managed about the equivalent of 2 table spoons of food and I was stuffed. In fact I felt full for about 5 hrs afterwards...

Oh yes! Me too! Because before the surgery, It was barely enough to eat 3 large scrambled eggs, 2-3 sausage patties or links and grits, sometimes even 2 packs of instant for my Breakfast, so yes, I do see what you mean more than you know. Lol!

    Definitely on your way !!!!!!!!!!!
I think most of us are our own best complimentors. We feel the looser clothes and the diminished joint pain....feel the pep in our step........and see the leaner person looking back at us in the mirror.
Just wait until beach season gets here and you are strutting around in the bikini in your avi. You'll be growing tired of the compliments.

I love the compliments too. Just be prepared for down the road when they stop. Be good to yourself and find the little improvements that matter to you, or that others may never see. Congratulations on the 25 pounds!

The last 10-15 I lost came off over about 3-4 months, much slower than the first 130 pounds I lost. I would have liked to have lost another 10, but it never came off, no matter what I did.

81 pounds in three months...Wow! nothing slow about that.
    .
The smaller I became...It seemed harder to shake off the last 10-15 pounds to goal.. I'm not sure if it is because we have less fat to burn
Nothing wrong with slow weight loss as long as the scale moves in the right direction.

I had that problem with refried Beans. So I had to cut them out. I think my problem was that I ate them too fast.

I started on unsweetened applesauce then graduated to yogurt then refried Beans. Didn't have eggs for a while but I didn't enjoy them either. I still have some trouble with eggs at four months. It does get better. Puree is the WORST stage. Hang in there.

soft scrambled with cheese was my first real food. chew really well and eat only a couple of bites and wait. I hiccupped like the OP when I was full. It is better to eat a little less than to eat even ONE too many bites. Its miserable.
    it will get better.

I have tried every kind of sweetener out there. I prefer natural, primarily honey, but honey does not taste the best in everything. I love the Torani sugar-free syrups (they are made with sucralose - Splenda) in Protein Shakes and coffee. I use Truvia sometimes too. You will get different information from many sources. It comes down to your preference in taste.
