    how often should you sip?

my dr started me on the mushies post op day 15-21 examples 1/2 bananas, fruit added to smoothies(yuck), 1/4 baked sweet potato, oatmeal cream of wheat(yuck) no grits:( week 4 lowfat cottage cheese, lite canned fruit, well cooked veggies(canned), beans no rice low fat cheese, my food servings were 1/4-1/2 cup I'm at 1/2 cup for most things my protein in week 3 was up to 60-80 grams:001_rolleyes: and any supplements my md ordered were taken as tolerated and you cannot move to these stages if you have nausea, or vomitting. hope this helps.
  8. Hi. You were the only one who responded to my post so thanks for that. I had another question for you. I know different doctors recommend different diets po, and im wondering what you were eating at 3 wks po. thanks girly.

    Coping with solids

well i guess there is a wee bit of geography separating us but I'm happy that we are friends. i think my stall is over down by 3 lbs. I found out that my vitamin D levels are terrible so i will start taking supplements for that next week. I read that pts who have high vit D levels loose weight fast than those with lower levels. I'm 6wks post op really having trouble with protein supplements so trying to get it from food i can drink like a fish but food is ugh!!!!!!!! AFTER ONLY A HALF CUP. So I think my weight is coming off a lot slower than most. But off is better than on so no more whinning. Enjoy your weekend and thanks for letting me vent:blush:

    how often should you sip?

If you are ok with fluids drink as much as you can as often as you can. The first couple of weeks you must focus on hydrations. Protein will come in time at least that's what my MD told me at about week 2 he had me start to focus on protein. Hope this helps hang in there I'm drinking as i blog this. I still have trouble with my protein, but i get in my fluids. Love crystal lite, but i use one pack to a liter of water just enough flavor to keep me drinking but not too sweet. I'm six weeks out sleeved on the 21st of June. I lost about 16 lbs since surgery:001_unsure: not as much as most but still better off than on:001_tongue:

  12. Hi LessFluffyZ

Sorry - I found a posting asking me a question! I have had mega IT problems, no phone or internet for a few days, so there is a chunk of forum stuff I haven't seen yet... Yes, happy to share experiences with you - we don't have the same MD, as mine is here in France! He was adamant I didn't need to go on the liquid, thick liquid, mushy etc route, as he says his staple line is perfect, and within 7 - 10 days they have become part of the flesh anyway. So far, all has been well, and although I had a bit of a stall for 10 days, my weight loss is continuing; I have had no pain or vomiting, so guess he knows what he is talking about! xx

    1st day back to work

Thanks so much, and yes there is comfort in the ability to care for others instead of fixating on food. I made up for my fluids after work, I'm gonna make myself do my walk away the pounds dvd, tonite there i said it so I must do it!!! Oh, Leo 5 did skip any temptations at work today everyone was entertained by my small continers and cute utensils. If you have not purchased World Market has awesome spoons, forks, and knives for us (really cocktail utensils) but they work for us. Well, no time like the present for that date with the dvd play:(

    1st day back to work

Work was good everyone was kind and my manager was ok with minor assignments did okay with my food too but just so-so with fluids. i'm in surgery so going back n forth to potty is not ok. Felt good to see other adults and have something other than protein to concentrate on.:tongue_smilie:
