Recovery wasn't that bad for me. I couldn't seem to wake up from the drugs but other than that I was not in an intense amount of pain. That may have been due to that nifty little button they gave me lol. Otherwise this is by far one of the best decision's I've made for myself and my life in a very long time. The first week or so was slow going but by week three I felt great... I'm at week five today and still feeling good... Had a minor set back but no complaints. Just know you're in for a big learning period and in for making a lot of adjustments to be successful.
    Good luck!

I would agree about getting a vegetti. I LOVE mine. Best $15 I've spent ever. As far as only being three weeks out and eating Pasta, I'd say nope. Probably not the best choice. I'm not sure about other's but we were given a binder with very specific instructions in it. At three weeks we were still only supposed to be eating softer foods and adding in more Protein options. I'm having to personally scale back to liquids for now because for some reason at five weeks out my body has decided that it doesn't want food and is rejecting it, so I called the surgeon and he said do liquids for a week and try again.
I wish you all the best with your WL journey but be wise. Pasta is high carb. Can't be good long term for weight loss...

I was sleeved on 09/17 and so far so good, with the exception of I think I was moving too fast so I'm scaling back on foods for this week and eating only soft stuff. I'm still searching around for a Protein I can stand. I ordered the unjury sample pack and hopefully those aren't that bad. I also ordered a nurtibullet the other day. Today, I bought some 2 oz red dixie cups to help with my Fluid intake. I plan to keep a tally during the day of how many oz I am drinking to work my way up to 64 oz.
Here is wishing you the best of luck.

You could eat TWO eggs that early out? I could barely manage one scrambled egg over the course of 30-40 minutes. But I did have them often. I liked to put a little shredded Mexican cheese blend and some taco sauce on mine. Yum!

Phase 3 for me allowed soft scrambled eggs. That was my savior. I would scramble 2 every morning with a little cheese. That was a good source of Protein, along with cottage cheese and pureed clam chowder.

Yes they are and they are a life saver; I've already had 18 oz since coming back from lunch at 2:30... Before I would not have had that much to drink. I'm glad I purchased them. I'll leave a few at work and take a few home...

I was shopping in CVS on my lunch break today and found these awesome little red 2 oz cups for a $1.00 so I bought a pack... And they are helping me get my fluids in... I can drink 2 oz at a time and then keep a tally of how many I'm having during the day and this will definitely help me be more cognizant of the fluids I'm getting in. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was an awesome find. I'm going to go back and get some more for my best friend because she needs them too.

You can certainly enjoy being thin and not have to be in any fetishist's club. One does not imply the other, so don't worry about that.
I find what you are describing to be as offensive as homophobia or racism. You wouldn't give a guy a second date if he said on the first date how much he hated blacks or asians, or how much he despised gay people, right?
So just use these very disrespectful, but informative,l comments as a way to sort out men you would never be compatible with, and keep sifting through the crap until you find your gold.
I remember years ago having a first date with a man who, over coffee, began to diss on his employers. "They are Jewish, so of course they are stingy and my salary isn't what it should be."
"Oh really?" I said. "I know a lot of Jewish people who aren't like that."
    "Who?" he asked.
"Well," I began, "my parents, for instance."
There was never a second date, of course, but what a great insight into who this man was.

I have been on several dates lately and it's amazing me how often the subject of my weight is coming up.
These men seemed intrigued and extremely attracted to and mesmerized by my thinness. They talk about my weight and how little I eat as such a plus and make sure they let me know how they don't like overweight women and they talk about their own weight a lot to the negative even if they are thin.
Is there a breed of men especially attracted to underweight women? Because I seem to be attracting them in droves and it's a very weird feeling to me.
I feel like for one I could never let these guys know I used to be overweight. They are so fixated on my shape and I feel totally uncomfortable thinking of what their reaction might be to know my history. I'm sitting their wondering how far their desire for perfection goes. I find the attitude pretty repulsive and walk away knowing I could not date these guys.
In fact it's gotten so bad I'm finding myself seeking out and wanting to date an overweight man because I find his attitude about his body more attractive and it comforting to be with someone that is overweight. It's more familiar to me and I feel like they would be less likely to judge my history.
The attention I'm getting from men seems so biased towards my looks. It's making me feel really weird. I'd hate to have to burst their bubble with the truth and I also hate the idea of only being seen for my physical self.
I'm not saying it's all the guys I've gone out with, but I am definitely running into it. Like these guys are groupies for modelesque type women and I'm suddenly in that status.
It bothers me to hear them put down overweight women. I happen to find overweight men and women attractive and I make sure and tell them that.
I went to dinner with a guy tonight and both him and the waiter teased me about how little I ate and he even told me how his daughter is overweight and her thighs are big and how him and his ex wife tried to intervene and help her by sending her into counseling. Poor girl.
I want to be skinny but I don't want to be in this kind of club.

I've been back to the gym now for a couple months... I want to build muscle to replace the fat I've lost and help with any loose skin. I'm 6 months post op. How many grams of Protein are you taking in a day to build muscle? I'm really trying to build as much muscle as I can. I'm 140lbs down and I feel amazing. I just want to push myself now. Any help on this is appreciated!

Yesterday I joined the sleeved crowd. I am still in hospital, not feeling fantastic but I've felt worse. Waking up in recovery yesterday all i could think was "what had done!" As the pain is slightly better I'm no longer thinking that. I've only been able to drink Water everything else makes my tummy hurt. And I'm starting to have some gas pains but overall everything is good

I bugged the hell out of them. Mine wasn't an appeal, just the norm. I didn't feel bad about it either. The lady finally called me and said she wasn't really suppose to but she knew I was anxiously waiting and gave me to approved results. Don't feel bad about calling.

I'm a regular lurker on this site & I want to thank you all for helping me to get this far.
Now I have an confirmed VSG surgery date - November 2nd - I feel official enough to do my first post.
This date took a long time to come. I worked locally with a bariatric center that didn't pan out but I'm pleased that I have found my current bariatric team.
All that's left is a meeting with the anesthesia team. When I heard my date, I was thinking, "Holy shit!"
I'm quite glad that it's happening for real this time.????

I use unjury - and like it. I mix it with Almond Milk, ice cubes, PB2 and a banana. I like both the vanilla and the chocolate. I also have the Soup - which reminds me of Ramen broth - but you can't heat it too hot or the Protein will get sticky.

I am a huge fan of the Unjury, but I cannot stand the strawberry flavor. The chocolate splendor is my go-to and the unflavored is excellent in things like sf pudding, broth, etc.
