Me too. I just keep "eating" - hot chicken broth for the salty craving, then SF Jello, SF popsicle, and right before bed I have 3oz of L&F yogurt. It helps. Not sure I'll ever break the habit.

This is going to sound simplistic but.....go to bed! Get some extra sleep. You can't eat or long for food if you're sleeping.
Climb into your bed as early as you can, and take a ZzQuil if you need to.

This is my bad time too. It's completely habit. I have sf popsicles too - more than 4 ???? (pre-op still). In the colder months - I'll probably have sugar free cocoa or broth. I have attempted to distract myself but don't have much luck. It's an obsession. For months prior to my pre-op therapy - I had celery and sour cream dip. I changed over to sf popsicles.

Thank you @@UCLA man I have sf popcicles maybe I will have one then too. It is a habit wanting to eat at that time for sure n it is head hunger cause the time is late, things have calmed down or even become "boring" nothing to keep me busy so to speak.
We will make this, we will change

betterme38 reacted to HopeandAgony in Discouraged by a stall? - Read this
I was sleeved 11/16/15. My high weight was 265 and I am 5'4", female. I wore a tight size 22 jeans, and 2x or 3x tops. My breaking point was realizing a lot of the 3x clothing in stores were too tight and that was the largest size without going online.
After my sleeve I lost a load of my weight quickly. By the end of March I was down to 186 lbs. I was comfortably wearing a size 14 pants and large tops.
Then I stalled...until May 2nd!! Ugh. So depressed.
Then I started losing and got down to 176 by June 9th.
And there I've sat. At 176 lbs. Consistently for almost 2 months again.
I eat good 95% of the time still and work out. I've really bumped up my cardio and have been increasing my weight resistance & training steadily.
I haven't bought many jeans because I refuse to believe I was done at 176. However, the 2 pairs I have were getting increasingly big. I finally retired the 14's in the picture and went to a 10. I had to add a belt though and looked pretty frumpy. I am amazed to say yesterday I bought a size 6 jeans (and medium tops!). Are the jeans snug? Sure. But they button and don't create a muffin top.
The moral of my lengthy story is that I have only lost 10 lbs since March 27th, including 2 LONG stalls, yet I've dropped 4 pant sizes. My body is shifting.
I often struggle to see my weight loss (and have expressed that here) so this was a real ah-ha moment for me today.
I cannot let that number on the scale or that BMI chart dictate my success.
    Thanks for reading!

    Hi!
I had my surgery on july 5th and have lost 28lbs. Currently I am at four wks post op and at a stall for the last week. Hoping it doesnt last too long.
As far as a multi-Vitamin.... I have found vitamints and I really like them. I am sensitive to tastes smells etc so I tried many Vitamins until I found these. Centrum makes them and they taste just like a mint! Worth a try! Good luck!

That's an incredible loss in a week. Your body needs time to adjust. Stay off the scale. Keep measurements - I bet you'll see a change there even if not on the scale. Congrats on a great loss!

Hey! I had surgery 7/11 and I'm in the same boat. I lost 20+ pounds the first week and now have lost practically nothing. I'm exercising and getting in Protein and Water but still have not seen the scale move. I was going to come on and ask about it but saw your post. I am going to my 3 week appointment tomorrow and will let you know what they say when I talk with them about it. But you're not alone!

I also stalled at 2 weeks. So 2nd week nothing 3rd week nothing I was so obsessed with the scale I kept asking my husband what am I doing wrong why why why. Then I just read all the comments and others story's and they are right stop obsessing with the scale and stop feeling down it will go away and you will lose again. I'm so thankful to say I up my Protein and 3 1/2 weeks letter I'm losing again. So I'm a slow loser but better then nothing. I don't mind loosing a pound every other day or so. So hang in there and listen to others that have been here and done that we are lucky to have their support. Keep going it will happen soon.

LOL. You definately need to stay off the scale. You are going to fluctuate regularly. I actually laughed out loud at your comment about never seeing the scale go up again. I here to tell you that is NOT true.
I was a daily weighed. I weighed myself every single day following RNY. For me I didn't let it get to me because the reality is you are going to fluctuate. You have too much salt one day you will retain Water. It's actually interesting to track. I know from one day to the next whether or not the scale will go up or down because I weighed every day.
The issue with that is if you let the fluctuations get to you and are putting time boxes on your weight loss you are going to lose your mind.
You are not in control right now of anything but what you put in your mouth. Your body is in charge of when you lose or gain. Kind of like autopilot. All you need to focus on is putting the right things in your tummy and let your body take care of the rest. If you do that you will continue to lose weight (however some days the scale will go up....).
There was only one time when I had to put my damn scale away and that was in my 11th month post op. I had a 28 day stall and tried like hell to be patient but that one got to me. The stall broke but it was a very long month.
You have to decide if you can handle the news from the scale daily or not....if not just put it away and weigh yourself once a week at the same time of day. Or some people refuse to even weigh themselves that often. They weigh only when they see the doctor or once a month. If you follow the plan you don't need to worry about the scale.
And for the love of Peter, don't time box yourself. Your body is in charge and decides how quickly or slowly things will move. Time boxing weight loss can be one of the most demotivating things for someone trying to lose weight. It just is not good for the physche.

Day to day fluctuations? This is like minute to minute lol. 5 lbs gained since surgery. Guess I "expected " the scale to go down and not up. I'm higher than I was on surgery day. ???? I need to break up with the scale, need to have my hubby or son hide it and bring it out 1 time a week on monday. I think I will do that today, better before I think I'm a complete failure.

I also had surgery this afternoon. I was a ball of nerves, but surgery went well. Was in serious pain the first hour post op but since then it really hasn't been bad at all. I've been able to drink about 10oz of Water and a small bottle of Isopure which has shocked me. Getting my bladder to relax was a project, but I was determined as I did NOT want a catheter. Now if only I could get some freaking sleep in this place.

Our stomachs take a while to heal. Surgeons put us on food plans to phase different food in so we won't cause the stomach to have to work to digest too hard while it is healing. Even if you dont throw up, you can be doing harm to yourself. It really can be serious, even life threatening. Ask yourself if it is worth risking a leak before you consider making a poor choice again.
The fact that you are aware and asked for real feedback is a big step in the right direction. You can do this.

I won't try to shame you into doing what it right nor will I tell you what I think you are doing "wrong" in my opinion.

Talk to your doctor. She/he is your best council. Your body is your best measure, but all together, it's up to you. Your efforts will equal your results.

    I am rooting for you!

    Completely hopeless? Of course not!
In need of a swift kick in the pants? Yep!
Pick up the phone before the sun sets again and make an app'tment to see a "bariatric friendly" therapist and another app'tment to speak with your NUT. Your bariatric surgeon's office will be able to recommend ones for you.
Now and until your therapy app'tments, put your big girl panties and MOVE FOREWARD. You know what you have to do. DO IT!
Why did you have WLS in the first place? Put reminders of the reasons on your fridge, cabinets, night stands, mirrors---everywhere throughout the house. When you spot one of your reminder notes, STOP and read it ---out loud. That should re-enforce your initial commitment.
Concentrate on fluids, fluids and then some more---fluids..
Let your surgery site heal. Think--FLUIDS.
You can do this. You know you can or you wouldn't have made it down your WLS path this far.
    NOW, JUST DO IT!!!!
I'm rooting for you. You're just in need of a "pep rally".

Have you eaten an extra 10,500 calories in the past two days? No? I didn't think so!
It's Water weight. Your weight is going to fluctuate a couple of pounds here and there due to Water retention. Don't freak out about it. Drink a lot of water, maybe add some lemon to it, and make sure you lay off the sodium for a couple of days.
