It took me about 4 weeks to feel "normal" again. In the second month after surgery I got a lot of energy.

I feel for you, honey. I was in the same boat! I am now 2 years post op and loving my life! For the first 10 days I was miserable and hated my decision. Everyone on this site was amazing and told me it would get better. They were right! It gets better hang in there! I found that chewing or sucking on ice chips helped get some Water down and also, making Popsicles with the flavored Protein helped me to get it down.

Sleeved 12/29. Down 65 lbs from surgery date, 81 overall.
Shirt size from a 3x to XL, pants from 24 to 18.
I still have some hair loss, but have been fortunate that it hasn't been a ton.
I can eat just about anything, which is great, but also terrible. My weight loss has slowed, and I think I'm in the need to decide my future phase. I'm learning it definitely is work and surgery is just a tool.

I use the PatchMD Multivitamin and B12. I recently had blood work done and everything came back normal so I guess they are working! I recommend them!

I don't work for the company -- completely non-biased here. I just wanted to share with y'all that my 3 month labs came back with everything in the normal range after using the Patch MD transdermal Multivitamin the past 2 months instead of chewables. I take calcium chews and B12 shots. My Vitamin D was in the lower range of normal, so I'm going to supplement that separately, but it's actually gone up since the last time it was tested. Here's hoping my 6 month results hold steady. I'll post if they don't.

Congrats! I am December 8th, 2015 and am down 45 since day of surgery. I definitely see it in my face and can tell in my clothing. I am 38 from the original goal I set with my surgeon in the beginning of all this. Fingers crossed!!!

Lesley-vsg, try the Protein Powder GENEPRO fro Amazon. It is 30gm Protein in 1 tablespoon. I put it in my morning milk, cream of wheat, yogurt almost anything. It has no taste. I mix 1c chocolate lactaid, 1/2 banana and 2T. Powder. I drink 1/2 in the morning 34gm protein. If I don't get in enough protein thru-out the day, I drink the rest before bed. I get 68 gm protein every day. Having a backup plan is key.

I lost 22 pounds on my 2 week preop diet. Took 3 months postop to lose another 17 pounds. Rate of Loss kept dropping to eventually 1-2 pounds/month by 9 months out.

Yep, I lost about 40 lbs in a little over 2 months, then I hit a stall, and I finally lost another 1.5 lbs. I can see that my weight loss is slooooooowing down. I have decided to stop weighing myself so often and concentrate on being healthy and happy where I am!

I lost 30 lbs my first month and only a few my second month. My nutritionist told me if I kept losing at the rate of a pound a day, I'd become malnourished. Our bodies need time to catch up, and I personally have noticed that when I'm not losing weight I am losing inches! I don't measure, but my clothing and body are telling the signs.

I remember being wheeled to the OR, got on the surgery table and was asleep in a matter of minutes!
I woke up in recovery. I remember hearing the nurses talking and telling me surgery was over. It literally felt like I had just had the best nights sleep ever lol!

When you don't lose weight you usually lose inches, so start measuring.
