Congratulations! You may find you gained following surgery because of all the fluids and swelling but I can assure you that weight will come off along with more.

If you have already met with your surgeon and their support staff and they didn't mention an EKG or Stress Test, I think you will be fine, but it wouldn't hurt to ask sooner than later if there is anything else they require. Another tip, if you plan on filing for short term disability to help cover the cost of time off after the surgery, you may want to start looking into that as well. It is always easier to say you wish you had done this sooner, but, for whatever reason, you are ready now. Being ready now, 100% ready, will make your success that much easier. Sometimes it takes a culmination of many things to add up to the final push for something like this. It's all worth it.

I filed my paperwork last week for my leave from work. A few people who work at my work were having issues with that when they got their leave paperwork so I wanted to make sure that was done ahead of time I love all your information you have though! Thank you!

My surgeon's office is the one who scheduled everything. I had the endoscopy 2 weeks before scheduled surgery and then all the other tests (chest x-ray, blood work and ekg about a week before scheduled surgery. Talk to your surgeon and find out how they do it.

  9. For those of you who had set backs before surgery - what were some of the reasons doctors held off performing the surgery?

  10. I have never been so sure of something in my entire life. Im ready for a change and to be healthier and happier with my body so I can be the best person I possibly can be!

That's how I was before my surgery. Most people have nerves and jitters, I was calm as a cucumber and ready to do this.

I have been waiting for the nerves to set in because a few people at my work are going through the same thing and they get very nervous about it but I haven't felt that yet. I think I've just waited so long and now that I know in my heart this is the right thing for me.. im just ready and cant wait for it to actually happen! Did you have any complications?
