  1. I went skydiving once. And broke my ankle. I have the worst luck! Seriously! I was thinking for a treat to myself learn how to swim. Like really swim. Like put my face under Water without plugging my nose and not thinking I'm gonna die. I almost drown when I was a kid. See? Worst. Luck. Ever. Hahaha Or maybe I'll learn how to ballroom dance or hip hop! Or twerk. Maybe twerk. Yeah twerk, that's it!! And ride a wrecking ball all naked and sh*t.
  2. I'm sold!Gonna try to get one in on Saturday. A birthday present from me to me. (Yesterday I turned the BIG HUGE SCARY 4-0!!!!!)
  3. So the OP appears to be MIA.... either the surgeon told her to take a hike or she told him to! She hasn't been back to let us know what the surgeon said so I wonder if it was the surgeon who told her off!
  4. I'm in too!! Current weight 235.8 Goal weight for Dec 31 is ..... 215.0 I plan on working hard at hitting that or lower Thanks for doing another challenge!
  5. Health Records Practitioner/Coder/Data Analyst I code from 3M(codefinder) and ICD-10-CA!! I'm also a Licensed Practical Nurse - specialize in Mental Health & Addictions
  6. They most likely won't go away :/ If any of them are causing you discomfort you can get them removed. It is considered cosmetic though. If any of them concern you, have grown in size, hurt, or change shapes - definitely get it checked out. Years ago when I had lost a lot of weight (one of many times) - I found a "lump" in my breast and ended up getting an urgent mammogram. It was just a fatty lump, I felt kinda dumb but better be save than sorry!.
  7. Jeez where's all my canadian peeps at?!?!?!! There can't be only 2 of us?!
  8. I say do whatever is easier for you! THANK YOU for taking the time to do this for anyone who would like to participate. Looking forward to doing my first one. I agree Whatever is easiest for you Steph, we appreciate you doing these to help push us
  9. Omg you're killin' me Dub! Movie popcorn is probably my most absolute favorite "food" ever! I'm slopping away saliva from my chattering mouth as I look at that picture Nomnomnomnomnomnomnomnomnomnomn
  10. So?How'd your doc appoint go? **Grabs popcorn...err I mean glass of water. Where you at OP? Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk Popcorn flavoured water. ...? LOL
  11. Greeeeeeeaaaat With my shitty luck I'm gonna need a cholecystectomy!
  12. I can only imagine how that went down........two Iron wills colliding.......forgedtits and the doctor (I'm seeing Arnold Swartzenaeger in this role for some reason....) "I want a sammich dambit !!!" "NO...just Soup for you". "It's not fair......I should have cupcakes". "No......Protein Powda only......now, get to the choppa". "I want oodles of noodles and bread bowls" "STOP with your whining" I almost feel sorry for the surgeons.......I mean, they have the ability to change lives in a way that patients can only dream of......yet their results are held hostage by those that want to fight them every step of the way. I simply don't understand how people make it to the surgery and have so damn little understanding of basic calories and nutrition. This stuff is taught in elementary schools. Hell, I grew up in the boonies.....where the teachers main challenge was keeping us from breeding our cousins.....yet somehow.....someway....they taught us the basic concepts of how to eat. Sure....many, like me, turn their back on that knowledge and develop weight problems as adults. Thankfully I stayed off my cousin, though. There is normally so much education that goes into a bariatric program that you'd expect good comprehension of the surgery and the demands that follow. Add to the fact that she's lived through this with her husbands wls.....although a different procedure. OP is right. It's not fair. It's not fair to the surgeon. That poor surgeon will never get the time back that she's going to spend arguing with the OP in this visit. OP already knows everything and won't be satisfied until the surgeon yields and admits that cupcakes, Cookies and pizza are in fact, great foods that will yield to a slim, trim and sexy new you. Poor surgeon. She could be spending that time with patients that actually are receptive and willing to listen and follow. Omg I laughed so hard! I even spoke in Arnolds voice. And the cousin thing... bahahaha Haha -- good for you for your self control for staying off your cousin! Also great response too!! You always do!
  13. I find it very hard to believe that you'd did "plenty of research," when in your OP you were shocked at not being allowed bread or Pasta for 6 months, because you "haven't seen that anywhere!" Every plan I've seen includes restrictions on these types of carbs for 6 months or longer. Every book I've read stresses that this type of food is off limits for a very long time if you want to be successful in the long term. This information is EVERYWHERE. Maybe you only absorbed what you wanted to hear (similar to how you are taking the responses to your post, which were actually been pretty nice, honest and helpful until you got your panties in a wad). If you expect to be able to eat whatever you want post-op, then you can expect to have similar results to what you had pre-op after the honeymoon phase is over. ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~ NAILED it!!!!
  14. Not only are you adorable, you're funny too! Also know that YOU ARE INSPIRING TOO!!! keep up your phenomenal work and keep us updated with your progress ????
  15. "Just eat smaller portions and exercise, that's what I do when I want to lose a couple of pounds" (Said by my friend that is super athletic & fit and has never dealt with weight issues in her life) "Just take appetite suppressants or diet pills" (Said by my BFF that knows I have a rare disorder that makes me allergic to pretty much any medication)
  16. Oh yes A big THANK YOU to stephh!! Count me in for the next challenge.
  17. I think this is a bit harsh. You do know that not only are we not all English speakers here but, we are also at different levels of education and also is the fact that these days many of us multitask, and as such one task often suffers- usually for me grammar and punctuation during texting.I often text in a hurry and sometimes make mistakes. I am also multi-lingual and it takes a great deal of effort to get it right all the time. I did say "gentle advice" in hopes that she wouldn't be (too) offended. I was nice and just trying to explain that in order for us to help her, we'd have to first understand what she was asking or saying. You probably didn't see the original post, it was one humungous run-on sentence. It was very difficult to understand - that's why the first few posters were saying "huh?" and "I don't understand what you're saying." After she corrected her original post, she had a lot more responses, advice and tips etc because she was being understood. That's it. That's all. I totally get it that people are bilingual and that their 1st language isn't English..... I live in Canada.
  18. I made my goal AND BEYOND!!!! goal was to hit 239.8 today Weighed in this morn and was 235.8!!! No idea how I lost so much over the course of a couple of days tho! Now I'm paranoid that if I weigh myself in say the next week that I'll see a gain. *sighhh*
  19. as you said: you tried it, you had fun, and now back at working towards your health. good for you! I doubt everyone is perfect all of the time so don't beat yourself up about it and carry on
  20. People on this site!!!!!! They rock. Plus to be honest... Ummmm....myself. I've done this before (with the band) and I KNOW I will do it again.
  21. I don't like food at all now. Nothing tastes good. Nothing smells good. I'm never hungry. I have to remind myself to eat and drink. I have heard this happens but never in a million years did I think this would happen to me! I do hope I will enjoy food again someday.
  22. good old fashioned 80's floor aerobics work those hammy's and glutes! you'll have to find some sweat headbands, arm bands and leggings tho. "let's get physical, physical, let's get physicaaaaaaal"
