perforce got a reaction from mmorris4 in Self pay and could cry over the amount, couple of questions
I agree with the idea to look elsewhere, I know the idea of going out of country can be daunting, but better self pay at somewhere reputable and have no surprises with bills later.

perforce got a reaction from 2goldengirl in So confused-Weighing less=less protein?
Protein needs are simple to work out, just take your weight in kg, then multiply by 0.8
For example, I weigh 244lb, which is 110.7kg. (2.2lbs to the kg)
    110.7 x 0.8 = 88.56g Protein a day.

I went to the the 'my content' option under my name and it's coming up as no topics, even though I know I have a lot of threads I have been participating in. The same thing happened on the app, any idea where ll my threads are?
Also, my (and it seems everyone else's) ticker isn't showing up. When I checked my content again, even the answer to this thread from eclecticwingtips didn't show.

I'm in my third week too, and it's hard to get a lot in I agree, but your stomach has been through a trauma, it's hunger signals can't be trusted right now. It's not going to tell you when it needs food. I'm currently eating 5 times a day, maybe 70g Protein for three of them, and then two Protein shakes. The first day I was on mush I could only manage 40g. When you've eaten enough you'll feel it just behind your chest, don't push it after that. Protein Shakes will not stretch your sleeve.
Be sensible, you can't possibly expect the right results if you're not following your program, anymore than you could expect pills to cure a sickness if you weren't taking them.

The hunger may go away, for a little bit after surgery you still have the hunger hormone in your body. Also, some people don't feel the restriction until they hit mushy/solid foods.

I didn't have gas so I don't have first hand experience, but people say walking and gas-x strips.

Why will he/she not be happy? 90lbs in 6 months is 15lbs a month, so you're actually a little above target?

I wouldn't call four days an 'embrace' so much as 'a quick fumble in the alley'. I'm sorry you're feeling bad and it does suck when the scale doesn't move, but if it's going to freak you out change to weekly weigh ins minimum.

Don't be scared, the infection is literally the only problem I've had so far, and it was only because the two that got infected were between my stomach and the roll above it so they rubbed (the stitches were possibly too tight also, as we had trouble getting them out). Everything else has been fine. No gas pain, no vomiting, thus far no acid refluc *knocking wood as I type all of this*

This is my biggest incision, though to be fair they got infected (fixed now) which might explain why they still look quite red across. Surgery was Feb 2nd. The others are ok and smaller.

This video was posted in a private Facebook group I'm a part of and I thought some people might want to watch it. I found it interesting and he explains things quite clearly and simply (though I don't think they treat it simplistically, which was nice).
The title says 'how to stop stomach stretching' but it's actually talking about eating post op and some of the reasons people regain, how to avoid it etc. It also discusses how portion size changes further out post op an some other things.

Sorry about your husband. My pain level was quite high for the first two days, then it eased off midway through the third. Getting the drain out helped a lot.
