  1. I'm glad it's getting better for you! And that sounds like a great plan with the pureeing and freezing! *mental note*
  2. Hi Vanassa! Thank you for telling me. How were the meds? Were they rough on your stomach or appetite? did you have to restrict certain foods or change any dietary habits? I have my endoscopy scheduled for Thursday so I hope I can talk to my surgeon about it then.
  3. Sorry to resurrect an old thread but had never heard of this until my blood work came back with positive for this! I think this is a big reason my surgeon's office recommended I have the blood work done as soon as I could! Now we can take care of it (hopefully!) before I even have to submit for approval in January.
  4. Congrats! That's huge and must have felt great to be in control????
  5. You share a wealth of info! ❤️
  6. Beachgal do you inject yourself or go to a dr office?
  7. you are hot!!!!!! You were cute before too. Yes ladies. This is me blatantly hitting on the cute online cowboy! Hahaha lol. never been called "hot" before. Thanks. Truth is, I think you are hot too. You're both hot! ????
  8. I'm so sorry about your brother ????
  9. Great job ladies! I can't wait to have good things to report! I am new to this section and new to the surgery world (I'm in month one of my insurance-required 3 month process). I am also new to the 40s club and just turned 40 in July! ????
  10. I use Toppik for PCOS-related hair thinning and it covers really well. I'm upping my vitamins and Biotin now to prepare for surgery in Feb/March - and hoping Toppik will still suffice when the hair loss happens!
  11. Yay! I'll be thinking positive approval thoughts for you! Let us know!
  12. Oh man I am not looking forward to the BA stuff when my time comes! It sounds like chocolate is the way to go! Are you allowed to blend with ice? I hope so... Thank you so much for sharing all of this with us! I am sooooo excited for you and know you will do so awesome!
  13. Wow!!! you look like a movie star now Great work Bella!!!
  14. That is good to know! I was going to start stocking up on them but they expire pretty quickly so I'm going to have to wait.
  15. Hi @@wilkinsmgc - I asked about comparing c-section pain to gastric bypass in this thread and got a lot of great answers!- http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/352335-can-anyone-compared-rny-to-c-section/ I wanted to know the same thing!
  16. @@lsheshequin you look great - and keep the progress pics coming!
  17. I agree with @@HELLCATT81 - you all look amazing and are so inspirational! So excited for all of you!
  18. great job! You're doing awesome!
  19. ahhhhh! This got me teary! "I told very few people I was having gastric bypass because I felt that way myself. I honestly thought, it will work for everyone else, but not me. It will just be another one of my diet failures. After all, that's what's always happened to me in the past. " - I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has had these thoughts. But I am determined to make it work. @gbveteran4d - you can do it! Please believe in yourself and know you have the power to do it!
  20. I wish I could give you a high five. This is the kind of stuff us newbies need to read. I haven't even had surgery yet but am so thankful to read the tough love and honesty that you provide. Thank you @toasty.
  21. I have told my husband and MIL and a handful of close friends who are also either trying to lose weight or have lost weight. Everyone has been really supportive so far. I have to tell my own parents at some point since I'm going to ask my mom to come stay with us for the week following surgery. I am not telling my boxing coach because he's kind of a jerk about weight loss and diet and anything medical. He thinks he knows it all so I just don't talk about it with him.
  22. @@cendella170 that's great news!! I'm hoping to submit for approval in January after my 90 day nutrition requirements are met. @@Djmohr I can't wait to feel like that too!
  23. Great list @@James Marusek! Even for those of us at home, having an idea of what is needed is so helpful!
