  1. :smile2::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:I finally have gotten approved through my primary insurance. I say finally but it was a piece of cake. It only took about 3 weeks to get it all approved. I am still waiting on my secondary as they said they have to wait until after the surgery. I am going on March 14th. I start my pre-op diet on the 22nd. I am SOOOOOOOOOOO excited.:wink::thumbup::thumbup:
  2. That is awesome. I will be going the next day, the 14th.
  3. I think you hit the nail on the head with the counseling. I to am going to under-go some counseling. I must find out why I eat the way I do. Also, I am fearful that my food addiction will turn into something else and I do not want that to happen either. I was just driving home yesterday after eating a LARGE supper and thought can I really do this? I know we can and we will. I heard a quote from Aristotle and it goes something like this.... We are what we repeatedly do. Therefore excellence is a habit not an act. What kind of habit are you practicing today? I am going to have this posted up everywhere I go. I love it. :clap2:
  4. Michelle, that is awesome. Keep us updated.
  5. Yes, I am aware of that. He stated that. However, with other doctors not requiring it it also lends itself to being for compliancy. Like my post says, I am glad he is having me do it. I need a jump start. Especially since I have been eating everything under the sun since I know I am getting it done.
  6. My doctor does require one. He stated it is to shrink the liver. While I know this does happen I feel as if it is more for compliancy than for anything. I am anxious though as that will give me a jump start. I am not sure of my surgery date yet but I do know I have been eating anything and everything. I feel this is because I know I will be limited very soon. My husband even stated he hadn't seen me eat this much in the past. :-(
  7. Just want you to know I am thinking and praying for you. Keep us posted. :clap2:
  8. Hi Nicki and Jen - I am a teacher and will be banded on a Friday. I am hoping to return to work the following Monday. Do you think this is reality? I have had my tubes tied and was up and doing normal things the next day. I value your feedback.
  9. Hi Loup - while my husband is supportive he was for sure uneducated. We took a mini-break before I go back to work tomorrow this weekend and he read my book about what is going to take place diet wise. He is more supportive now then he was. He said he just thought my portions would be smaller but that I would be able to eat all the same stuff right away. I am glad he took the time to read it. Can you direct me to the links of the procedure you mention. I haven't found them and woudl love to watch it. Julie :-) :help:
  10. Hi Tina. Yes I know Michelle. She and I are actually really good friends. We did our second undergrad together and are getting our post grad together as well. We teach in the same district. :-) I have my fingers crossed for the same surgery date as hers. We will see.
  11. I see. I am glad to have found someone so close. Julie :-)
  12. I currently live in Decatur, IL. It is in the middle of Illinois. However, I am from Naperville. Actually my parents still reside in Naperville. They live on the Naperville/Aurora border in White Eagle just off of 87th and 59. Did you go to school in Aurora? I went to Central. :-) :bounce:
  13. Welcome from IL. I just turned 31 on Thursday and decided this is the year. This is the year the fat ends. I have been overweight for about 7 years really, really overweight. My BMI is 40. I have always been "chunky" though. It is time to get back to what I was when I met my husband. :-) I am going through the final insurance phase right now. My friend, another member on here, has the same insurance and has been approved so I am optimistic the same will happen for me. I am hoping for a 2-8-08 surgery date like she has. We will see. I have been browsing and have found a lot of interesting things. I am glad to be aboard. Julie :clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2:
