@@thomas1984 I'd just present it to him as a concern - "I was able to eat this much food and didn't feel full, is there a reason the mechanism of my sleeve didn't cause me discomfort?" That way it's coming out more as a question vs an accusation, less likely for him to be offended. Then you can discuss the size of the sleeve that he chose, if it's appropriate to "reset" the sleeve as others have mentioned, perhaps diagnostics to rule out any issues.
Good luck - I know how frustrating it can be when things aren't going as you've expected. Hopefully he has answers.

That recipe reminds me to do a search on those bodybuilding boards for some food ideas - they have a lot of "lean protein" recipes available.

Even mindlessly, for a dare or a million dollars, I could not consume 20oz of dense Protein in one go. Not a chance. I had 5oz once when I had been a long time without food so my stomach was totally empty. Usually I cannot finish 3.5 oz. I am 8 months out.
OP, how did you feel after you ate it? Were you in pain or nauseous?
Book in with your surgeon and present the facts to him. Best of luck.

I just made this. I am sure it isn't new, but what a way to get your Protein in!
    pancake mix
    - 25g vanilla Protein powder
    - 1 egg
    - 1 tsp baking powder
    - 2tbsp Water
    - Canola oil spray for cooking
Served with 2 tbsp sugar free maple Syrup
    181 Calories
    5.8g Fat
    6g Carbs
    27.6g Protein
    * I used Maxine's burn Protein Powder
This was super filling and so yum. Going to try it next time with lemon and Splenda rather than the maple syrup.

How about just telling him your concerns by saying I feel something is not right. Ask him if there is any testing that can be done to check your stomach, "swallow test", and ask if you could see your chart, stating I have to figure this out. By using"I" in your conversation you are not pointing a finger until you have all of your information. Hope this helps.

My husband, mom, and brother know. I've also told work because my boss had RNY and I asked her all about it. She lead me in the right direction. I just don't want people looking at me like I'm some kind of failure for not trying hard enough. I've been yoyo dieting since I was 11! I'm 27. Enough is enough. I'm doing this for me and I don't want the negative impact of others thoughts/feelings/words to intervene on my weight lose journey.

My bottom is flat as a tack. I just bought some tummy flattening, bottom shaping undies on eBay. They have a padded bottom area. I look awesome in jeans now, but I feel like I am wearing an incontinence aid I am in a size XS/S and still feel fat too, especially around my tummy. But every kilo I lose seems to come off my legs and chest. I look really scrawny around my collar bones.

When it comes to carbs, I can eat a whole heap more than I can of Protein. Like PP said, if I start the day with carbs, the rest of the day goes downhill fast.
I just did the 5 day pouch test to get myself on track as these final pounds are proving very difficult to shift. Through the five days I could not finish a cup of Soup or Protein, so all is still well with my restriction.
If I wanted to, I could probably eat a garbage bag of popcorn as it is not very dense so I can fit a lot in. The same goes for other types of carbs.
I am in the healthy weight range now, but I still have the psychology of a morbidly obese person and probably always will. I cannot rely on my sleeve alone and am positive I could put all of the weight back on if I don't stick to the protein first rule.
I think you scared yourself, which probably isn't a bad thing. I have done it a few times over the past 8 months and am now 100% clear that I will never be able to include carbs in my diet like the average person does. I will always over eat them.
Best of luck learning what works for you

Husband and my mum only. Very, very glad as I have read some hideous stories of the negative, judgmental comments others have received. Many are strong enough to cope with this, I felt I had enough on my plate recovering from surgery and learning a new way of living.
Think carefully about this. You can always later confide in people, but you can't pull it back if you have already told people.

I'm starting the process and I'm not going to be telling anyone who doesn't need to know, only close family and friends. I don't want to hear people's unsolicited opinions about it.

Just FYI, I did not use the term conscience with any sort of religious implications. I meant it simply as a personal measurement of what an individual feels is right or wrong. Acting in accordance with your conscious leaves you with feelings of morality, integrity and psychological balance. Acting against your own conscious leads to feelings of guilt, shame or self loathing. My reference to the term was quite secular.

Yes, I make better food choices, I take my Vitamins, I do all those things I need to do to maintain my weight loss, blah, blah, blah. I know I am ultimately responsible for my success, but I could not have lost this weight and kept it off without surgery. And neither could anyone else on this forum. I'm simply giving credit where credit is due. My conscience dictates what I am comfortable telling others and everyone else should do the same.

I trick myself by getting into an audio book I really like. But I don't let myself listen to it unless I am exercising. It seems to jump start things. I'm an odd duck on this though, but give me a good Tom Clancy novel and I am going to walk/run/lift for an hour or more.

whenever I have fallen off the exercise bandwagon, I usually have to lie to myself to get started again
ie/ you only have to do it for 15 minutes or lets just do 3 days a week. usually within the month I am back at it full steam because it just makes you feel so much better overall.

BCs 1000 got a reaction from KristenLe in Why the heck do I feel hungry?
I felt the same around 2 weeks post op (day 2 I was still rolled in a ball moaning and vomiting so you are doing well), but in the end it turned out it was just my new sleeve. Even now it grumbles all day long, very noisy.
The feeling of hunger post op for me is much higher in my abdomen compared to pre op.
At the time I read the posts saying it was acid and just the feeling/noises of the sleeve but was adamant that was not true for me, but it did turn out to be the case. True hunger for me did not return until the six month mark and it is still significantly less than pre op.
    Good luck

I feel ya. Somewhere in the second week post-op I thought I would eat some potato chips. Thinking that I could just enjoy them in my mouth long enough to soften up, I could justify them as a soft food. Miss Tummy made sure that I was miserable for hours. She is a very good teacher. I have been a good girl.
Don't wait until tomorrow. Get back on track with your next meal. When is the last time you lost nine pounds in one week????

You definitely messed up. But shame on that surgeon for giving you a hard time about "only" losing 9 pounds. What the heck is that!??!?! I only lost 14 pounds in my first full month post-op and my surgeon was thrilled with that.
