BCs 1000 got a reaction from Berry78 in How do I tell my surgeon he screwed up?
Even mindlessly, for a dare or a million dollars, I could not consume 20oz of dense Protein in one go. Not a chance. I had 5oz once when I had been a long time without food so my stomach was totally empty. Usually I cannot finish 3.5 oz. I am 8 months out.
OP, how did you feel after you ate it? Were you in pain or nauseous?
Book in with your surgeon and present the facts to him. Best of luck.

OK ladies...so the FIRST step is what you are doing RIGHT here! You are not in denial any more (and let's face it, we were all there pre-surgery). You are owning up to the fact that you are not perfect...none of us are! But you are also facing the hard fact that you are going down a rabbit hole and came here to find some inspiration.
I am 3 years + post op and I have gained back as much as 7 lbs (am now back at goal) but like you, FREAKED out! When I was 223 lbs, the thought of weighing 160 something was thrilling....now, if I get in the 140's I feel completely out of control. SO, this is a good thing for us!
If you have recognized that you are self-medicating with food, then of course you need to address all those issues, comfort, boredom, depression. Everyone is different so you need to find the right answer for you: support groups, therapy, reading books or blogs from others, forcing yourself to meet other people socially (meetup.com is my all time favorite....this is where you FIND YOUR PEOPLE!!!). Once you start living a more full life you will be more motivated to get and keep the weight off.
And I will say the 5 Day Pouch Test does help you get back on track. Hey, try it for 2 or 3 days if you don't think you can do 5. Or do the 5:2. I have said it before, I will say it again. Even normal weight people (and we are one of them now) gain weight and pull it together before it's too late.....YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!! It's summer....get out and move!

I make my own Seitan. I then use it in various recipes to substitute meat. It has a heap of Protein.

I also eat a lot of Tofu and some commercial veg food like Linda McCartney.
I love legumes, but even six months out I can't eat enough of them to meet my Protein goals.

Soft tofu. You can also blend silken tofu through Soups.

Yes! I pick up a dress in my size and look at it and think there is no way I can squeeze into that! And then I step in and do up the zip with ease. So surreal.

Yes, this thread is terrifying. I have only told mum and my husband, mum was very encouraging and my husband never questions any decisions I make about myself. Different strokes and all that, but if you are yet to have your surgery, think very hard about who you will tell.

Yep. I find this really disrespectful to my husband too. Just because you are a superficial A-hole doesn't mean he is!

When I was morbidly obese I had some terrible falls. A tiny bump in the footpath would catch my toe and I would come crashing down on my hands and knees.
This morning while walking and emailing (yes, stupid) I tripped on a speed hump on the road. My body tipped really far forward and I waited for the pain.
Instead, my body totally corrected itself. I wish I could describe the feeling better. It was like my body had total control. My brain said stay upright and my body complied. It was exhilarating.

    I was buying t-shirts at a concert. Kids $25, adults $30 or.... 2 kids shirts for $35.
Tried on the biggest kids size, too big. Tried the next one down, perfect fit.
Yes, I am a tight arse

My breathing is always difficult for the first few minutes and I have that ' you are never going to be able to do this' dialogue on repeat. I then get into a rhythm and can run for another hour.
I think I could benefit from seeing a running coach.
