  1.    Syaniya reacted to a post in a topic: I Want To See Before & After Pics! (Cont'd)
  2. I never felt fat shamed by my doctors but EVERYTHING was blamed on my weight. "Oh you fell down two flights of stairs and have herniated discs. It's because your fat. Lose some weight."
  3. First one is last September 304 lbs. Second one is last week 251 lbs.
  4. Every doctor I have (and I have a lot that see me on a regular basis) is on board with my WLS and excited for me!! I don't think I needed a referral. I just called and attended a seminar and the ball got rolling. Unless they got something from my PCP later, I don't know.
  5. I've met my surgeon twice.
  6. I'm still pre op but I'm partial to vodka with lime. Or just straight up Woodford reserve.
  7. I have BC/bs Ohio but it's an employee plan.
  8. I'm in Ohio too and my insurance didn't require a supervised diet at all. I started this journey in August but due to other health problems (sleep apnea, kidney infections) kept getting in the way. Now I'm good to go on May 10th and I'm so excited. I didn't think it would ever happen.
  9. I'm a social worker and suck at self care. It's hard. My job is emotionally demanding. I also work many many many hours. Like right now, I've been in the hospital the past two days and they want me to work from home today. And I'm gonna do it, because people are relying on me. It's hard to find time for self care. Usually I come home, have dinner and go straight to sleep at 7 or 8. I need to find something to do. Like a hobby. I also need to get back into exercise.
  10. I didn't even know what a sleeve was until I talked to someone at work who had it done several years ago. I was just going to get by pass whenever I was thinking about doing it.
  11. Said it in so many words at the seminar I went to.
