Hi! I am on caresource and in the process of getting the sleeve. I'm 6 months in on my appointments of today. I should find out when I'm having surgery sometime in January. I also needed 9 months. Cardio and pulmonary clearance too. Bmi has to be over 50 I think. I go to UC West Chester. They are great. Love them. Not sure where you are. I didn't need a referral either.

Why would she need to delete the thread? It's not like she tested positive for cocaine or something.

If you are really telling the truth, there are cases of patients testing positive if they are around chronic marijuana smokers. Request a quantitative level if you can.

I have an open schedule too so they didn't have any open spots at all. I started this journey March 30th. I only have a cardio clearance and pulmonary clearance too next month that's it for my insurance. I go all December without an appointment. Kind of sucks. I am upset about it but I can't really do anything. Maybe something will change but probably not. My time will come when it's supposed to be. It will be okay.
@@Tssiemer1 I think we were in the office together. Were you wearing all black? Glasses? My last name was Fraley. I almost talked to you but wasn't sure if you wanted to talk or not. We also have the same purse but mine is blue instead of pink.

The fat is used by the body as fuel, and ends up as CO2 by-product and is exhaled into the atmosphere. We are all contributing to global warming!

And your stomach is considered human medical waste. The folks in pathology will check it out and then it gets disposed of appropriately, typically in an incinerator.

I asked my surgeon if I could have my stomach in a jar. He said no they send it off to be checked for tumors and stuff. I hope I at least get pictures. When I had my tubs tied 6 years ago the surgeon took pictures for me.

I was in the shower and was deeply thinking and a thought came across to me that I'm having a hard time answering.
Where does fat go when it's lost?
Does it break up? Does it just go poof? Do we store it some where? Do we poop it out?
Another one was what are they going to do with my stomach?
Throw it away? Make hand puppets?
I guess things I can ask my surgeon.

"Although the number of fat cells in your body cannot be reduced, it is possible to make them smaller. When you lose weight, the size of your fat cells will shrink, leaving you with a leaner, slimmer physique. Although it's true that trimming fat is all about burning more calories than you consume, specific nutrients, notably Protein, can help speed up the process."

Lol that's funny, I like the hand puppet statement. That part I don't know but for the other part I think as the fat dissipates it is excreted along with our waste.

I'd like to add another. Go into a Halloween store and get any costume I see and not go to the back of the store with the plus size velvet dresses to be a witch or a medieval princess or sown thing stupid.

Tssiemer1 reacted to maggie409 in So what kind of "i didnt know" food events have you had?
Were the nuggets fried? Fried food made me sick on my pre-op diet and I have not had anything fried since my surgery. Also after the surgery you will want to be careful introducing new foods to your stomach. I have learned the hard way to introduce new things on days I will be home all day. Even if it tastes good and doesn't make you nauseous if your new tummy doesn't like it, it will leave your body without notice in the form of diarrhea. I believe they call it dumping. That didn't mean I could never ever have it, it just means my stomach wasn't ready for it yet. The first time I have nuts and cheese, stuff fell out of my body mercilessly. Now I tolerate them fine.

I'm pre op and purged ALL of my bad food. I only have healthy things like sugar free Jello and pudding. Wheat thins. Protein Bars and shakes. broth. Stevia. Spices and seasoning (because I can only eat plan grilled chicken so much). Low sodium soy sauce. And then A TON of 4 ounce containers for mean planning and Portion Control. My doctor put me on a diet eating 4 ounces of good Protein and healthy food every 3 hours.

This will be the first thanksgiving without grandpa who pretty much raised me. I don't know what I'm going to do this year. My surgery is tentatively scheduled for that week and I wonder what my family will say about it. Knowing he'd say to just screw them all and focus on me.

Sorry I was not clear. I go out with my friends or co workers and have a Protein Shake before and order nothing at all. I'm pre op. Those Protein Shakes make me very thirsty though.

I had a food funeral for Wendy's today too. It wasn't even all that good. Kind of a waste. I didn't even eat the fries. I ate like 7 chicken nuggets.
