The other day we did a read aloud at our fall festival tons of pics were taken and ended up on Facebook. I passed over this pic twice before realizing that it was me. I feel so much better. I am 2 lbs from Onderland!

You will be amazed at how well you will do in just 1 week. Just sip, sip, sip your Water and get as much Protein in as you can. Also follow your surgeon's rules and you should do fine. I had my surgery on 9/13 wearing a 16pw pants. Tried a size 12p pants on this morning and they fit. Amazing and all with no hunger. You got this.

Ms. Thompson reacted to rking in worried about hair loss
There is a current post, today, about Hair loss. Search for it. Basically I lost a ton of hair for four months then it stopped and it has all grown back. Just a bump in the road. Love your new body and don't sweat the temporary hair loss

Hello everyone, I'm Antonio I was sleeved on 5/29/15. Reside in NYC. Was sleeved at NY Presbyterian
HW 340 SW 320 CW 200 MY GOAL WAS 225. But now I want to go down to 190 . I been motivated for the results of the weight loss and my gym results.
I lost all of my weight by November 2015 now it's just been maintenance. Definitely keeping active, as you see I picked up biking which is something I haven't done in 20 years along with hiking. Surgery was the best decision I made in my life. My only regret was not doing it sooner since now I'm in my mid 40s .
Hope to chat with fellow NY'ers

Ms. Thompson reacted to Shanni1269 in I hit my 1/2 way mark today
Today I officially hit my 1/2 way to goal weight-loss. 53lbs down 53lbs to go....that will put me in the high end of the healthy BMI range. It isn't about the scale number and it isn't about a pant size (although those are bonuses on my journey to a healthy BMI).
Just thought I would share my excitement.

I'm in a similar boat, I lost 9 pounds a week out, then nothing until yesterday (4 weeks post-op). I've lost 1.8 (total) the last 2 days.
It's frustrating to be going this slowly, but I'm not worried. I have no idea the kinds of things my body is doing, but I do have faith I will lose the weight--even if it takes it's sweet time coming off. I'm just continuing to do what my Dr and NUT has told me to do.
Also, I have lost inches. I've not measured, but my clothes are all getting too big. Things are happening, just not on the scale.
Have faith, and know you are not alone.

Reposting this sound advice......The struggle you're in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow... In the end we only regret the chances we didn't take, relationships we were too afraid to have, and the decisions we waited too long to make... The cost of not following your heart, is spending the rest of your life wishing you had...

Hello everyone my sleeve date is November 28th and I'm scared as hell! Since I've been praying so long to be guided in the right direction and have decided to just give it to God and have stop worrying about it, does this mean I have no faith if I'm still worried after giving it to God? Sorry so long but I want to wish everyone good luck in their journey,

The vitamix is amazing. Its an investment but soooo worth It if doable. It really does everything, Soups, ice cream, nut butters, shakes..... I also have the magic bullet which is great for shakes, and for the pureed stage.

So, tomorrow morning I will be having my Gastric Sleeve surgery. I am feeling all sorts of emotions, which I think is normal. I almost started crying at the grocery store a few days ago because I couldn't have pretty much anything they had. I was ready to cancel my surgery and have a sandwich! I calmed myself down and got myself back on track. I am proud to say I did not have a sandwich, I have followed a liquid only diet FAITHFULLY for 10 days and have lost 13 pounds. I have a great support system, and am looking forward to being able to fit into clothes that are not plus sized! Oh, man...don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight!

All you need to bring to the hospital is your toothbrush/paste, one loose fitting outfit, gas x strips, and I brought a neck pillow & small pillow for my lap for the drive home that I thought were life savers. You get a private room for the night you're there and it has Netflix . The only other things I'd bring to the hotel are a few comfortable changes of loose clothes and a good book or two - because you'll definitely get bored. There's TV and movies, but I was grateful to have some reading material. Don't bring anything to eat. The hotel supplies your "meals" with your stay. Oh, and your cell phone & charger. The hotel has free wifi.
Be prepared to be very well taken care of. Everyone speaks English, cares deeply and makes you feel extremely comfortable. It's a great experience because you'll get dropped off with 4-5 others getting sleeved as well. When I was there, we all supported each other, "ate" together after the surgery and went for walks to the local shopping area. It's so nice to not feel like you're in it alone good luck! I'm sure you can't wait for it to be done!!
