  1. so we give the shots to ourselves?
  2. Just curious if anyone gets their b12 by shots instead of the pills? I heard it's like a once a month thing but I think a shot from the doctor would be more effective than the pills? Anyone have any experience with the shots? Should I look into getting them?
  3. That it "won't work" I have learned a lot of self control but I still see dumping as motivation to make better choices. I'm worried they will cut my stomach too big and I'll still be able to eat a lot. I've heard people saying that they felt like "they never even had wls". I just don't want to be one of those people. I want to be successful. Oh and stalling. I know I shouldn't be scared of the three week stall because I know it will come but I still worry about it.
  4. My boyfriend is really healthy. Super slim. Lives with roommates who are body builders who eat sleep and breathe fitness. They have never been over weight a day in their life. So when my boyfriend brought me over for the first time when I met them I felt SO out of place. Honestly I felt terrible. Like I wasn't good enough. Now that Im getting the surgery 1. His roommates (who are now my friends) are completely supportive even when I never thought they would be 2. My boyfriend has really stepped up to encourage me. He works with me every step of the way and has been on my liquid diet with me (just to support) So from my standpoint it's made us stronger. Even tho he can't relate to what I'm going through and doesn't understand why my weight got to where it is, he has been my comfort through all of this. It takes a lot to talk about your insecurities, even with your significant other, but if your open and honest and willing to work together (which doesn't mean eat the same things but providing the right kind of support) everything will be ok. It's a journey for you and everyone around you. It's a learning process and it's not easy. Seeing my bf go out to the bar knowing I can't drink sucks. I resent that he can just eat a huge burger. But I know when it comes down to it, he will always have my back and be there for me through all this. Best of luck. <4
  5. Welcome welcome welcome!!! Best of luck on your journey! It's definitely a crazy and eventful one! I hope everything goes smoothly for your and you get everything you hope out of this whole adventure! My surgery is less than two weeks away! So if you ever have questions, I think I can speak for all of us when I say, we are ALL here to help. One of my favorite parts of this adventure is that I've never felt alone. Best of luck <3
  6. Absolutely stunning! You look amazing! Seriously this is so inspiring! Your hard work is paying off! That's amazing! Congrats girl!
  7. So I'm a pretty regular exerciser. And I recently started my two week liquid diet. My calorie intake is about 600-800 a day. And I think it's finally starting to get to me. I feel really weak and tired and it's only been a couple days. Should I cut back on the exercise until after surgery or should I keep trying? Will I get use to this? Or is it going to get worse? I hate the idea of not working so im curious as to what other people did???
  8. We have the same date It's crazy to think it's coming up so soon! We have the same date It's crazy to think it's coming up so soon!
  9. The actual approval took less than a week for me. But my insurance is behind on modern day tech and sent my approval letter in the mail to the hospital. I actually ended up getting the approval letter first so I emailed it to them. It also depends on how far out your surgeon is booked. Some programs just have one or two surgeons, so if they are busy it might be 6 weeks or more out. If there's a lot of surgeons, my program has 4, so my survey date was about a month out. It also depends if you have to have a liquid diet before surgery. I have a two week liquid diet so that's another factor on time. My surgery is 12 days away!!! Best of luck!
  10. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Nvj9NXYdql0 Hey guys! I have also been a YouTube blogger the past six months on my journey! My surgery is 13 days away and I plan to keep it very up to date! Please check out my channel! The more support the better! I can't wait to watch all of your videos!!!
  11. I'm also 9/30 but I'm RNY. Best of luck on your surgery! It's coming up so fast!
  12. Your at Mayo?!? I'm (relatively) near you! I'm in the twin cities
  13. 16 pounds since surgery day? Or does that include any liquid diet? My surgery is coming up and just want to have idea of when weight should fall off.
  14. So my surgery is two weeks away from tomorrow. And my question is focused on pain. I would like to know when people felt the most discomfort after surgery (if any at all)? Was it right when they first woke up from the surgery? Once they started trying to take sips? Did the hospital do good at pain management? Was the actual incisions painful or was it more gas? Does walking really help? How long did pain last? I know obviously it's not gonna feel to great. I mean, I am getting stabbed 6 times in the stomach of course it's going to hurt. But what was your experiences postops???
  15. I start my two week liquid diet today I'm honestly excited. I'm sure I will hate it about a week in but I'm so ready for the surgery that it doesn't even matter.
  16. It's definitely a personal choice. My choice was to tell everyone. My story is all over Facebook and YouTube. I decided to tell people because I honestly only had a couple people to support me. And by telling everyone I was absolutely amazed by people's reactions. People who I NEVER thought would support me have turned out to support me MORE than the people I wanted to support me. Now I have this huge network of people who are standing behind me. Yes there's negativity but it's a lot easier to deal with when you have all this positivity. I find it also is holding me accountable. Now that I know people are watching and being educated by me I have to make sure I make the good choices and show people how much work this surgery is and how it's a VALID form of weight loss, not just a cop out. It's totally personal choice but that's why I chose mine. Best of luck
  17. I did the same thing! I was so paranoid! My program even called my insurance for me because I think I bugged them so much! But hey, it's life changing surgery, how are we suppose to feel! I'm sure we aren't the only ones! Best of luck to you!
  18. Thanks!... I'll check out Forever 21 tomorrow! I have a few shirts from there but I haven't been in awhile!
  19. I have a really similar shape as you!
  20. So my surgery is in 2 weeks. When I started the process I was 257. I am now about 240ish. So my clothes are already getting big. How long after surgery did people wait to stop shopping? Money is super tight for me right now and I don't want to buy things just to have them not fit shortly after. I'm thinking I will be living in sweat pants for awhile.
  21. I just want to say that I LOVE your personality! I laughed so hard when you made the DMV comment! I did that too. They like I'm like 190!!! I haven't weighed 190 since 11th grade! Can't wait until it's the truth tho! Congrats on all your progress! It really is inspiring! <3
  22. I last suppered so hard. And since I was pretty much liquid dieting for a week as a practice run I think my body thought I was starving it. So when I ate EVERYTHING stuck. I seriously gained like 3 pounds in a day. Not doing that again. Wasn't worth it. I felt so sick.
  23. After I lose most of my weight (my surgery is in two weeks) I'm wearing a bikini no matter what I look like honestly.
