  1. I gained 5 lbs, but my doc said it wasn't a big deal. She said that it's probably Water weight, along with the fact that I took advil and she said that can cause weight gain. Other than that, I've pretty much lost. I have my final 6 month visit March 3rd.

    Naysayers.... How to deal

I've only told immediate family and a select few co-workers and my boss. Anyone who I think would talk me out of it, I didn't tell, so they will know after I've had the surgery. Other than that, it's none of their business.
  3. I was completely for the sleeve at my first consultation, but they recommended the bypass, because of the diabetes and gerd. So, it just made more sense after they broke it down for me. And I've been looking at how the surgery is done on youtube. I'm not scared, but I'm anxious to get it over and done with.
  4. So, I had my first consultation yesterday and had every intention of going with the sleeve. But, she advised that because of my diabetes and former history with gastroparesis, she recommended doing the gastric bypass. She said that the gastric bypass will put my diabetes into remission, which is cool with me. Has anyone had the bypass and had their diabetes reversed? Same with those who had the sleeve, did your diabetes reversed or did it get better? I have 6 months to think it over, but a little clueless about everything. I want to make the right decision.

    Had my consult today

    Wishing you all the best
  6. I have my first consult on Monday, with my first supervised doc appt on the 25th. Sept is month 1 and Feb is month 6, so I'm hoping March or April. My birthday is at the end of April, so this would be a great birthday gift to me.
