  2. This is precisely why I decided to forgo having my insurance involved and am doing a self-pay. I figured it would take me a year or so more before I could have the surgery if I had to jump through all those hoops when I could self-pay and schedule the surgery right away. Of course, the cost is exorbitant here in the US so after much research and talking with 2 cousins and a nephew, I decided to have my surgery in Mexico where they had their surgeries.
