HELP! (No, it's not really THAT dramatic????)
Sophie74656 replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I got a sugar free angel food cake at the grocery store and it's pretty good. If I want even more sweetness I drizzle some sugar free strawberry sauce on it -
Post Op food and diet suggestions?
Sophie74656 replied to MickeyMax95's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
one of my favorite soft foods was mashed avocado mixed with a medium boiled egg and tuna. I would also add a bit of sriracha mayo (I've never had an issue with spicy food pre or post op) I also enjoyed roasted cauliflower mashed up with a wedge of laughing cow cheese -
of course it's normal to feel nervous. This is a huge life changing event. Personally I definately had cold feet and second thoughts leading up to the surgery. And honestly even for some time after my surgery I still had moments of regret when I wasn't feeling well or thinking about some kind of food I shouldn't eat. But the surgery and this journey have definately been well worth it. I only wish I had done this some years earlier. good luck to you

oh yes I had bad back pain. That was really the only pain I had though. But for about a month my back killed.

For me it was actually the first place I lost weight. I didn't do anything special, my chin was the first thing to go -
Anyone waffle between getting the surgery or not?
Sophie74656 replied to heidikate's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i waffled back and forth. I tried the garcinia stuff, the raspberry keytones, the green coffee, prescription pills, nutrisystem, weight watchers, jenny craig, counting calories on my own. Until I could barely fit in my car, and could barely walk up the stairs to my apartment. -
sometimes i find that a pitcher of crystal light goes down better than water. I like the peach iced tea and pink lemonade the best

I always have a couple bottles of Gatorade Zero around in case I can't get enough fluids in, I think it helps

Not feeling well at all
Sophie74656 replied to buzzly36's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me the weakness continued post op because of how few calories I was consuming. I didn't feel hungry or nauseous though -
Due to my weight pre op I had not been getting my special monthly visitor. Well this morning, surprise! It's back, and it's back with attitude. While I'm happy to be back to "normal" in that department, I did enjoy not having to deal with this monthly nuisance.

When did you start eating cherry tomatoes
Sophie74656 replied to sarahbethemails's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
one of my favorite ways to eat tomatoes is to cut some small tomatoes in half and hollow them out and then fill them with tuna or chicken salad -
oooh that sounds tasty
-
My favorite is roasted cauliflower.. I toss it with a touch of olive oil and salt and I add some capers too. The capers get crispy and they're very tasty Asparagus with olive oil and lemon and garlic is good and right now butternut squash is available and I love to cube that up toss it with some olive oil, salt, a touch of curry and ginger powders

I went to see my husband in a production of Young Frankenstein, then after we went out to eat and I had most of a small appetizer. It was fun -
I wouldn't tell people I had surgery. If someone comments on my drastic loss I just say I've been working hard to loose weight, thank you for noticing and leave it at that.

we went to Fridays last night and I had the ahi tuna appetizer. Amazing

Ideas for ready made stuff I can buy to eat?
Sophie74656 replied to wagyu's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
lean cuisine or weight watchers frozen meals are good and are periodically on sale. They're smallish portions and some of them are pretty high in protein -
well it's good they found the tumor. be careful with the gallstones. I had them years ago and I was told that the stones could clog the ducts to the liver and get infected and cause huge problems. Not to mention the attacks were incredibly painful (compared to child birth)

Looking for a crispy little snack?
Sophie74656 replied to Ashlegal's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
that looks yummy! also in the store section here they have Protein chips. They are pretty good and satisfy the potato chip itch -
It's funny but one of my weight loss goals that I've already achieved was to be even able to get on a doctor's scale at all (not counting my bariatric doctor) For a while they would ask me to get on the scale and my weight was more than the max of the scale.

I don't think I would ever make my Water goal if it wasn't for flavored water. I like to get frozen strawberries and toss those in my water bottle They help keep the water cold for a while then when the water is done I eat the berries
