  6. i want to chime in on this . both me and my husband work part time. we earn about 600 collectively a month and we get food stamps we were getting 120 a month. now we get 76. we have a bjs member ship. (think costco or sams) the amount we get per month is enough to buy 2 gallons of milk 10 pounds of chicken 1 package of morning star farms burgers 2 dosson eggs beans and ground turkey and bottled water. the rest of the month we scrape by
  7. i chose to tell my very opinonated dad and his reaction was nothing no reaction. now weather or not he tells my step mother is a whole other ball game. she is a real piece of work. i cant stand her to be honest but my father loves her so i put up with her to keep the peace. she has mellowed in her old age. i will make a formal announcement about my surgery next year at thanksgiving once i am 5 months out so no one can try to sway my decision but thats just me
  8. when i had surgery on my ear which as you can imagine is no where near my stomach i was barely able to walk around with out a cane for 5 to 6 days let alone lift a child or play on the floor with one i assume with this surgery i will need much more assistance from my hubby

  11. my husband has family in peru i have always wanted to hike machu picchu
  12. both me and my hubby are prone to poly or open relationships the only thing holding us back is our weight because we are both morbidly obese but were looking to expand our relationship. so being attracted to other people and loving your partner can and does happen but not discussing the details is a mistake. you need complete and total honesty in open relationships jelousy is a nasty beast when it rears its ugly head
  13. i also had a bad weekend first it started with the cookies and my weekend get together no big deal but then i had a birthday party to go to there was no bottled water and i caved and had a full fat soda for the first time in a month and i binged on potato chips lots of them and ice cream cake. im retaining 3 pounds of water right now and feel like garbage but its a learning experience for me. now i can tell my body no dont eat that remember what happened last time

  18. Yes I work I work in a psychiatrist office so the clients we see once a month will definitely notice my absence and weight loss

  20. i would call your surgeon just to be on the safe side no one died by being overly cautious
  21. @@cbrr i think its a mistake to not let your kids do thanksgiving let them go visit grandma or an aunt or uncle while you heal it will take the pressure off you and they will enjoy it. also your gonna be a week out still learning how to get in water and protein maybe letting the kids visit family will help you heal better. im having my surgery around march so hopefully i will be healed by the time my yearly family vacation happens.
  22. I weigh my self every morning and it fluctuates about half a pound or so between days but it goes down I'm participating in the Halloween challenge so Mondays at home and Fridays at work are when I record my weight
