Question for anyone out there experienced with this. As canna butter uses butter as the base, will this cause dumping syndrome?

After surgery I will continue my usage as well it's a self medication and I'm not seeing any harm in MJ it's not the same as tabacco and alcohol and it is true that not everyone gets the munchies and for those who do get the munchies it's because you smoke before you eat....you have to eat before you smoke so your tummy can be already satisfied all you should need is a tall cold glass of Water but everybody is different so just do what works for you

Thank you for that very well articulated response regarding the correlation of smoking Marijuana and it's effects on post Bariatric surgery patients. I also appreciated your well thought out response and obvious expertise about the dangers of addiction and addiction transfer post WLS. Your critical thinking skills must be the envy of all your peers.
I'll bet you're fun at parties.

This topic is merely being presented as an educational topic with hopes that there has been experiences in the use of Marijuana after bariatric surgery. I smoke marijuana maybe once a week like having a glass of red sangria to relax after a long hard week. Although I'm not a frequent user, I am wondering if I will be able to use it after surgery. Fact for me is that it does induce hunger and I am sure this would not be condusive to being successful after the sleeve, but let's be real, there may be users out there who give it try. Unfortunately, there are not any concrete studies on this either like there is for tobacco and alcohol users.
So feel free to enlighten and share your thoughts.
    Thanks!

The same thing happened to me, got my surgery date and fear and apprehension kicked in but i think i have started to compartmentalize it and i'm feeling pretty calm now. Knowing that long term health wise I'm doing the right thing.

Hi Kimmy 16, Your weight or a lack of it doesn't define you, it's the intangibles. Your favourite pastime, your quarks. The man for you doesn't care about weight and shouldn't. I have always been someone that struggled with weight, i have been an athlete and a fat person in the off season back to fat person. Never had any luck with woman, whether fit or fat, what was the problem? The problem was me or more to the point my low self esteem and lack of self confidence. 20 years ago i learned to love myself first and you will not believe what happened, i developed self confidence and a whole new world opened to me. Today i still have these confidence whether im in one of my incarnations (fat or thin) presently fat, why i'm getting bypass surgery, even when i'm overweight i am still confident.
The surgery will present a new you, but learn to love you first, then it doesn't matter, new you old you, your confidence will show through. For me theres nothing sexier then a confident woman no matter what the size.
Good luck and enjoy the journey.

in canada it is completly covered. I could have had an earlier surgery date but I'm in no hurry, have an important conference to attend in early may then i will have the surgery done. Well the conference is same day as surgery so the conference is out.
    My fear:
-Restless leg syndrome, this seem to be common and i do not want this.
    -Complications, worries me a bit.
-Was at 320 lbs lost 50 lbs i'm 6'3" so i'm tall, this surgery is for my diabetes. Im very optimistic that this will help this greatly.
    Thanks for listening

are you sure about this, complex carbs are the good carbs, I would think it is the simple carbs you want to stay away from. I have been told they want you eating some carbs which I would think that complex is the better choice.

I know what it is like to lose both your parents. I lost my mom and dad within 11/2 years of each other and it was terrible but knowing how wonderful my parents were I know they are together in a much better place then this little blue marble we call earth. I am sure this is the same for you, stay strong better days are ahead of you.
