June 2006 Band Crew
Well, Darn, I forgot to post last night. Did get my smileys off yesterday, and will have to add one for Thurs. I have been quite out of it with the move. Please forgive me if I don't remember to post daily. I know that will knock me out of the challenge, but I promise I will drink my water. Love the water article too. I am having terrible problems with eating this week. I know some of it is mother nature, but I can eat WAY too much. I have measured out my lunch. 1 cup of stew, and will try to see how I do on that, but last night I ate 3/4 of a taco salad from taco bell. CARBS are the DEVIL!! I need to get off of them again and quick.... Will check back in again tonight to add my water smileys. Have a great day!

Satiated vs Full
I wish there was a way to tell someone like me what satiety feels like. I eat until my tummy hurts, and then I know I need to stop... but think that might be a little too late.

Old Lady Shoes... Comfortable Shoes... Diabetic Shoes
Missy N: You should check out www.lapbandsolutions.com and search Dr. Benevides, and Surgery Center of Richardson on the boards. Thanks for all the advice on shoes. I have new clothes now (from the Catherines sale) and now I need to get some shoes to match. Think I need to go out and try some of these brands on, since I have been in Apex Ambulators, PW Minor, and SAS OR walmart flip flops for the past 8 years. I have no clue about some of these names...

June 2006 Band Crew
I have scheduled my second fill with Dr. Maese on August 2nd. I sure hope he is aggressive. This silly .6 cc's is not doing the trick. I am in the same boat with Leila, and my hubby is getting a little frustrated with me. Told him it will be better with a proper fill. Then I will start losing more. I went to Catherines yesterday and bought $450 worth of school clothes... but they were 80% off. :jaw: I would have never been able to do that if they were full price. So glad I found that sale. Woke up sick this morning. Actually had to take a phenagren, but it did not help. I heaved up stomach acid first thing... cried and cried, because I was worried about my band, but things have been going down ok, so I guess everything is ok. Have been taking it easy since. My hubby seems to think I got sick from the paint fumes yesterday. I think Mother Nature is about to visit. Either way, the phenagrin helped... and knocked me out for a few hours of much needed rest. Don't think I get a smiley face today. I only had 2 bottles of water, 40 ounces, and about 12 ounces of v8 juice. Did not drink alot, since I was out of it much of the day. Oh well, tomorrow is another day....

June 2006 Band Crew
Eggs are hard for me to get down. I tried it once and have been afraid to try it again. Painted my dining room today. Lovely coffee with cream color. Guess that might be called Mocha. I really like it, too bad I painted it that color to sell the place. But I think my new house may have a room that color too. As for liquids: 8 ounces milk, 70 ounces water, 8 ounces coffee. Not too hard to drink all the water you need when your working all day!!! I am going to call Dr. Maese tomorrow to see about another fill. Then I think I am going to try the Thin for Good diet again. I always lose with that, and I think I can stick to it now since I have "help". It is just a low carb diet from Dr. Pescatore. It also has motivational things to help you thru the day and try to change bad behaviors. Will let you know how things go!

Fill Pictures
I have come across pictures of peoples fills and I find it quite interesting. I don't have my picture of my first fill, but know that I was more open than some of the pictures I have seen on the board. Wondering if the experienced bandsters will post their fill pictures and tell if they had restriction with the fill or not. Really interested to SEE what restriction looks like. Thanks!

Anyone used Dr. Maese for fills?
Thank you Leatha!

Frustrated & failing... Fills and Fill Doctors...
I had my first fill on 7/11. It was .6cc in a 4 cc band. I have the first bite syndrome. I can not eat first thing in the morning, BUT after 1 o'clock in the afternoon I can eat ANYTHING. Bread included. My quantities are less, but tonight I ate 3 pieces of thin crust pizza. (bad choice I know, but it went down). I don't get a golf ball feeling except with the first few bites, then I can eat. It seems that I can any amount of ground meat, but I try to measure it. I have been eating only Protein but tonight I went off the deep end. SOMETHING IS WRONG! I think I need a fill, BUT SCOR is "out of network" and will cost $150.00 per fill. I have TRS activecare BC/BS. My only other choice it seems is Dr. Maese, and he has rec'd varied reports from members of the board. I don't know what to do. I have not lost any more weight. Some people banded on the same day have lost 3 times what I have. I am frustrated. Crying. Stressed.... and hungry. What would you do? Wait for a fill? Get a fill asap? I have read all of the "how to know if you need a fill" things, and the first half of the day, I don't need one, but the second half I do. It is so freaken crazy!!! Does anyone else know of a fill doctor in Allen/Plano area?

Second fill...finally know what restriction is!!
Congrats! Glad to hear you are restricted!!! Great job on the weight loss!

Catherines is having a SALE!!!
I visited their website and it seems they are all having the sale. I am going to the Rockwall one tomorrow to check it out... You could always call your local store to make sure before you make the trip.

Port Site
I used ice, and only ice post op. It seemed to help me. The port pain was the worst, but luckily it goes away.

Catherines is having a SALE!!!
I sure hope this is not spam... I don't work for them or anything, I just love a good SALE!!! I went into the Catherines by Collin Creek Mall today and noticed that they have several racks marked 70% off the markdown. So I was really happy that I went in today. Well... When I went to the checkout the lady told me that everything with a red dot is going to be marked 80% off on Sunday, the 40% off items will be 50% off, and that the regular priced items will be 40% off. So... I am going back again on Sunday. Hope to beat you there!!!

June 2006 Band Crew
Here is my checkin for the day. Eating less, and feeling that rock feeling in my chest when I eat today. This band really is fickle... every day a different story. Ate 3" of a subway sub (toasted, and tore away most of the bread). It was pretty good. Went to Sprouts and bought the most beautiful cherries. Can't wait to try them!!! As for the liquids. I have had: 12 ounces coffee 50 ounces Water (2 1/2 bottles... working on the rest) 16 ounces Crystal Light lemonade Another smiley face for me!!!! Hope all of you are smiling too!!!

Any suggestions for giving up soda?????
I drink Water, tea, and crystal light. The rasberry lemonade is really good. I do miss sodas however...

Old Lady Shoes... Comfortable Shoes... Diabetic Shoes
I have been wearing old lady/old man shoes for the past few years to work. No one really said anything to me because I made the joke before they could. But, I am going into a larger school district with a more strict dress code, and my old lady shoes probably will not go over. I have been wearing Apex Ambulator Diabetic Shoes, SAS shoes, and PW Minor shoes. I am not diabetic, but they make wider shoes with tons of padding, so I can make it thru the day without ending up with foot/back/hip pain. I am on my feet all day, going around in circles helping every kid in the room. Do you have a suggestion on a more fashionable alternative? Or should I stick with my "clown shoes" and go with the jokes as I have before? Honestly, I would rather them think of me as an unfashionable goof than to hurt all day. Any and all help would be appreciated, as I am not too into fashion.

Rosacea
My face actually looks good. I have been using the person and covey cleanser every day, and the bare escentuals or the smokey mountain mineral make up every day. My face looks clearer and does not hurt. Not to mention I am quite a hottie with some war paint on. (I have not worn makeup in 12+ years). Feels like a brand new me. The real test will be this winter though. That seems to be my worst time of the year. Good luck to all you hotties out there!

colon cleanse?
All I know is that if I take a little of the supercolon cleanse everyday and use it as directed on the weekend, I feel better. No constipation. Even if that is all it does is keep me regular, I am happy. No one likes a constipated poodle.

Ok liquid count for the day: 3.5 bottles of water= 70 ounces 8 ounces Milk 32 ounces Crystal Light Rasberry Lemonade Can you tell it is hot in Texas??? Felt a little more restriction today, but only in the morning. Tonight I ate a nice size meal, 2 tacos, guacomole, sour cream, ice cream. Guess liquid does not fill you up... I am sloshing!!!!- June 2006 Band Crew
Well, I thought my fill was gone until this morning. I sat down and tried 1/2 cup of meat and a little bit of avacado. Was really good and filled me up. Just different each day I guess. And I do think the bottle of water before I ate helped. For PMS cravings I have been eating Ice Cream (low carb) way too much of it, but it sure is good. 3 bottles down girls... 60 ounces. Now I am off to have some crystal light lemonade. Have you been having trouble with timings? I know we need to finish drinking 5-10 minutes before we eat, and not drink until 1 hour after we eat. I am having trouble keeping track. I just guestimate for the hour after. Anyone have any tips? Cindy- In the words of Scarlett: "tomorrow is another day". One day at a time girl. We all just have to kick the carb demon one day at a time. - June 2006 Band Crew
