I feel your pain. I have been on the full liquid diet for 7 days, and shakes plus a very small supper for a week before. The past two days have been bad as it is the weekend! I have dropped a lot of weight in the two weeks, but it is still super hard. Yesterday I spent over and hour reminiscing about all of the things I could imagine eating, and tonight I was thinking about it again. I still technically don't have to start the diet for another week but figure I will lose my weight faster if I just start now.
Each doctor has there own set of guidelines, and I believe they each give you something a bit special. Mine allows coffee, and your allows a cream Soup, which I would really enjoy about now. But what can we do? Quit, just like every time we have given up before? I just keep reminding myself, nothing changes if nothing changes. One day months from now I will be able to have a couple bits of something normal without feeling like I need to eat the entire oversized plate. Hopefully, I will be happy, satisfied and not give it a second thought. Tonight that is worth it to me.

I am scheduled on Oct 5, and have been having these exact same thoughts. I know that I can keep on my pre op diet until I drop the weight, and keep it half of it off for a couple of years. The question I ask myself is what then, years of eating poorly again until I get back to where I am now? One perspective I have come to see is that this is really a long-term issue and not the short game.
It does not change all of the fears of surgery, the pain, or never enjoying a great feast at a fantastic restaurant. It is hard to decide to take action to this level. However, I know that not eating consistently throughout the day, and then binge eating at night has been a huge problem for me. Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes.

I have kept my weight the same but i work out daily.. droping from 374lbs to 180lbs in just eight months was alot to adapt to. But when i eat i try to base most of my foods on protien based meals and complex carbs. mon-fri eating ten or so 1lb meals every few hours. weekends i eat whatever i want. at week ten i went to the high protien diet mentioned above from the low carb no sugar diet. Adding complex carbs as well.. That allowed me to build muscle that fixed my loose skin issues and science tells us bigger muscles burn more fat and make your motabolism race. If i dont eat ten meals a day I will loose 3-5lbs in a few days. today I am 230lbs with an almost perfect body looking to gain an inch in my chest to finish the loose skin from the man boobs and im only in 14months now. The key to all this has been diet & not starving yourself. The best advice i can give to people who are battling with hunger is to eat but eat right get some myofusion shake mix online 5lbs 35$ and have one for Breakfast and one at night this will get you started in the am right also great to knock the edge off in the pm before bed. also add liquid vitamins and bam mix it up... This has been my normal daily routine from early on and has become something i look forward to now..I only said myofusion because its what i use and it has the best taste and value but you can really use anything with low carb/sugar im sure and for Multi Vitamins im using megaman gold powder.. hope this helps..

rusty780 reacted to livvsmum in 22 Months Post Op - 155 Pounds Lost - Before & After Pics :-)
So after 22 months, losing 155 pounds, reaching my "dream goal" weight of 125 pounds and healing from my Tummy Tuck and panniculectomy, I took some before/after pics that I feel really embody the new me. It's been such an amazing journey, and I can honestly say that the change has been from the inside out, thanks to some hard emotional work with my therapist, dealing with the "eating issues" that really were not about food at all.
This journey has been absolutely amazing, and while the recovery from the TT was WAY harder than I expected, I wouldn't change any of it for the world. I Think my journey is complete now for the most part. I am waiting on insurance approval for an arm lift, and I was told I would hear by the end of June, so that is the only other thing that could possible make me feel any better physically.
And now that my TT is mostly healed (though i'll be sore for several more months) I'm back to running now, which emotionally makes me feel so much more grounded. It is my meditation.
Anyway....I just thought I would post this here for anyone coming on the "success stories" board to see if the surgery is right for them or could help them. I can tell you that for me, it has provided me the opportunity to make some changes I wasn't able to make before and I'm way happy with the results!
So here are my almost 2-year post op (post TT) before and after pics.

I changed my eating habits in January with surgery in May. I lost 30 pounds, detoxed myself from sugar and carbs. It made it easier when I did my 2 week pre-op diet. I figured that was a 30 pound head start on my total weight loss.
Good for you for committing so early and making changes! Good luck!

rusty780 got a reaction from losing2win in Keeping WLS a secret.
10 years ago I lost a very large amount of weight. Everyone noticed, and every commented. At the time I was very self-conscious, and extremely shy. Having been through the weight loss experience before I plan on telling people the truth, if they ask me how I did it or what I am doing differently. I am not ashamed, as I am not having this surgery for vanity purposes, but for health reasons.
A: Was fat and had WLS - which does not change the fact that I use to be fat.
    or
B: Was fat, had WLS, and spent a lot of time lying to people. - which still does not change the fact I use to be fat.
So the question is why does it matter how you lose the weight? Answer: Because of what others may think of me.
The truth will set you free!
I share my perspective not lessen another's; but so that we can share ideas, so we may all grow, while we are hopefully shrinking.

My BMI was 38 when I was approved for the surgery. As little as six months ago it was 33. I, like many of you was tired of the continual weight yo-yo over the course of 30 years. I want to be healthy and not be ruled by my food. My decision to have the sleeve was me wanting to "eat to live", rather than "live to eat". I was frustrated after dieting and exercising and losing weight and gaining it all back plus more my entire adult life. I recently developed some comorbidities, blood pressure medication this year, severe sleep apnea, and my blood sugar was slowly creeping through the pre-diabetic stages. The heavier I got, the less I wanted to exercise, and the heavier I got... A vicious circle! it also seemed like I was always hungry and didn't have a full mark.I started to consider my own mortality, with my 50th birthday quickly approaching (it is November 29). I was approved on November 3 and my surgery date was November 18, 2014. I am now today one week post surgery and I feel that this is the best decision that I have ever made! my doctor takes the removed stomach during surgery, stitches it up and filled it with air and measures it. I talked him out of a photograph of mine. It is the most incredible thing I have ever seen, my huge stomach laying on a table. He told me that he was surprised if I ever felt full because my stomach was one of the largest that he has seen, and he is operated on people 500 pounds and up. Whenever I feel frustrated about this liquid diet that I am halfway through, I take a look at that picture and I always feel better! After seven days I have lost almost 20 pounds, I am walking between 2 1/2 and 3 miles per day and I feel fantastic. I am getting at least 60 g of Protein per day and getting down at least 80 ounces of Water per day, even though that KL drinking water at least every 30 minutes all day long. The weight is falling off and I feel like I am no longer ruled by what I eat. I am even looking forward to having some cream of chicken Soup during Thanksgiving while my family is stuffing themselves on turkey and dressing. Maybe I'll have some chocolate pudding (sugar-free of course) for my 50th birthday Saturday!I I am 6 foot two, was 307 pounds on the Thursday before surgery at my preop appointment, 301 pounds last Tuesday when I checked in, and today I was 286. I am not hungry, 4 ounces of water makes me feel full, and I I am getting sufficient nutrition on the liquid diet, but I really can't wait until next week when I get to go to puréed food and actually chew something again. I know that I am at the beginning stages of my journey, but I feel as if I have turned the corner on my path to a healthier life!
