  1. I am four weeks RNY post-op. I still enjoy watching my favorite programs on the Food Network. Now when I see the chefs doing a recipe; I am trying to figure out if I could make that a "healthier recipe".
  2. Sounds like you are off to a great start. Congratulation to you! Have you tried adding the unflavored protein powder to soups etc.. ? A half scoop is usually ten grams of protein. Continue to work towards getting your 64oz.daily. Keep your water bottle nearby. You can add a zero calorie flavor and some unflavored protein. Hope this helps you.
  3. It is available on Amazon. You might find it at your hospital pharmacy-- hospital where you had/have your surgery. I purchased it at a local ( non- chain) pharmacy. I was able to save shipping/handling charges.

  6. Monday,Oct.26, 2015 was the day of my surgery too! The doctor told me to work towards getting 64 oz. of water daily. I downloaded the Bariatric Timer app. to my phone remind to eat and drink. It has been helpful.
  7. I am surprised that the nutritionist or surgeon did not recommend a psychologist or social worker. You should ask them. Best wishes to both of you.
  8. Are you really going to let this $250 stand between you and the chance to have an operation that will help you be healthy, your second chance, your "do over". It sounds like you have already completed everything on the checklist! You cannot stop now! My surgery is on 10/26. Best wishes to you.

  19. I had an abdominal ultrasound and upper GI series as part of my pre-op testing. The tests revealed a small hiatal hernia and gallstones. The surgeon is going to repair the hernia and remove my gallbladder during my gastric bypass surgery. I am scheduled for Oct.21. Only 33 days from now!

  21. The Bariatric Support group at the hospital has a clothing swap night. On that night, you bring good clothing that you will no longer be wearing to give away or swap.
