    4 Days Post Op

I had my surgery on the 27th too, and i did not have the chest pain, but I do have gas pain when I swallow. The nurse at the hospital told me to breathe through my nose and out through my mouth when taking pills, it worked. I can now swallow my meds when the gas pains hit. The chest pain, I would report to the doctor. Make sure its not gas pains, sometimes it can mimic like its in the chest. Former CHF survivor.
  2. That's great, did you have mini staples too.
  3. Hope mine heal the same way, thanks for your response.
  4. I was like you good the first day, and the second day the meds were wearing off, that was my worst day. I am 4 days post-0p and feel pretty good, gas pains every now and then.
  5. Way to go, you are rocking that sleeve, I hope I can rock mine like you, 4 days post op.

Sleeved On 2/27, Two Days Post Op

Tried not to get on the scale because I read you will weigh more after surgery, but I did and I have lost already, Loving my sleeve already, encourages me to stick to the plan. In four weeks I can eat solids, looking forward to eating a little bit on Resurrection Sunday (Easter), I love veggies and hope I can get some down then.

Sleeved On 2/27, Two Days Post Op

Feeling good today, will take some meds for this gas pain. Getting the protein in was okay yesterday, and I will try to get more in today.
  11. Hi, got an appointment real soon, and was wondering about the pain after surgery, especially if they do both. For those of you who had the band removed, and the gastric sleeve put in at the same time, did it hurt extra worse than the band surgery? I do not like too much pain, some, but not over the top pain. The lapband surgery hurt, but it was not that bad. I know I sound like a big baby, but to my Mom and Hubby I am. LOL! Your thoughts are appreciated! God bless!
  12. Surgery is over and the pain was not that bad, I feel good 4 days post op, no weakness.Gettting down liquids pretty good. There is some gas pains at times, but I take my meds when this happens. Loving my sleeve already! To God be th Glory, and thanks everyone, learned a lot on here.

    So Tell The Truth . . .

Love taking pictures, when I was heavier only the top portion. With the lapband I took pictures, and I just revised to the sleeve on Monday. Watch out the mirror, mirror on the wall whose the fairest of them all! LoL!
  14. The same here, I can lose the weight, but will put it back on if I stop excercising. My life is too busy to exercise everyday. Also, I have a knee injury, and once the knee goes out, I am out of the gym for about 2 months. The surgery will help me keep the weight off without stressing over going to the gym. My gym time will be 3 times a week, I love the gym

    " It's On!"

Lol, i did the same thing
  17. Are you all active duty or retired? If you are retired you do not have to go through tricare. However, if you are not retired, I would call the military treatment facility (the department that does the surgeries). I would ask them what I need to do in order to get an appointment with the surgeon. You may have talked to a rookie at Tricare, but call the hospital and they will give you clarity.

    Full Liquids?-Post Op-First Week

Hi, thanks for your response. My doc gave me a pamphlet, and we are on full liquids as soon as we get home. We are only on clear liquids in the hospital. I was just wondering about the meat portion of my full liquids menu, but i guess if you blend it well with broth its okay. I will try it before surgery and see. My doc says I can drink anything that could go through a straw, but do not use a straw.

    Protein Is Such A Pain!

Haven't had surgery yet, but I love the EAS whey protein shakes. I add one teaspoon of low fat peanut butter, delicious, and its full of protein, skim milk and ice. I can't taste the protein. 2 scoops is 46grams, and then 8 grams from the peanut butter pretty much low cal. Just delicious. Carbs are low on the peanut butter and protien powder. I add some cocoa to it to make it more chocolaty, the real cocoa(low carb, low cal), not already made ones. Getting myself ready to drink fluids and protein shakes.
  23. Hi, I was wondering how many people have a lot of sagging skin after revising to the sleeve? My heaviest before the lap band was 263 and my lowest was 192. 219 is my weight today, I am tall and most people think I weigh less, but I don't. Band will be removed shortly. However, with the band I did not have any sagging skin after a 71 pound weight loss. I read another thread that it depends on your elasticity in your skin. I have had children and never got stretch marks on my stomach. For real! So I am hoping I am one of those shrink to size people without plastics, I will hit the weights and the gym. What about the arms sagging? anyone? Love working out anyway, just like to see results. My band is up and down, tired of it. Thanks in advance.
