Herbalife and Weight Loss
I've actually heard that trying any "diet" on top of wls is a serious no no!!! It can cause serious problems. I would reconsider, do some research, and talk it over with your surgeon.

Helps with PCOS?
I'm pretty sure they don't know what causes PCOS. I do take Protonix but I didn't start until after I was diagnosed with PCOS. Last time I researched it, they still have no idea what causes it, and it will probably be more than a few years before they have any concrete, clinically studied ideas.

Mini gastric bypass VS gastric bypass...Insights?
After reading about it, it's not a good choice if you already have reflux problems, as digestive juices and bile can go into the pouch, as well as the esophagus or/and higher. That could not be a choice for me.

Helps with PCOS?
I also have PCOS and need to lose about 112 pounds. I'm pre-op and one of the reasons I want bypass is seeing results where some women are experiencing reversals of the symptoms, including fatigue. The fits of fatigue are the worst for me. Add to that backne and the dark spots and insulin resistance which makes it very difficult to lose and/or keep weight off and the hirutism.

Good luck to you!!! Your close to me! I hope you get your date soon!!! How long have you been waiting? Where are you located? Thanks!! I live in Oklahoma. I've been in this process for over a year, jumping through the hoops.

Medication
@@Sammie16, I also take hydrocodone and was thinking about asking for the liquid version. My problem is, as with all of us taking pain meds, I have to visit my pain specialist every month in order to get my prescription. And so, will my surgeon prescribe the liquid hydrocodone for just after the surgery?

Did I hear her right?
I'm praying for you. Have faith. I know how frustrating it can be. I'm pre-op myself and I'm waiting on approval. I've had to go back and forth with denials/more information needed. But I know it is God's will that I get this surgery. This struggle has made me a stronger fighter. Continue to trust God and believe that He has your life in His hands. We will both have our testimonies as we transition to the losers bench!!! ????

What made you choose this surgery vs others?
I'm pre-op and every bit of information I have gathered says that bypass patients have just as much opportunity to keep the weight off as those that get the sleeve. I'm choosing bypass because I have LPRD (laryngopharyngeal reflux disease), which is worse than GERD because the reflux goes higher in the throat and can irritate the vocal cords. I'm also choosing bypass because not only is it a restriction and malabsorption surgery, but it is also a metabolic surgery, as it changes your brain's weight threshold to the lower, healthier weight. The surgery also changes the chemical balances in the brain to make you less hungry or not hungry at all, up to six months, depending on the individual. The surgery is reversible. And it is the "gold standard" of all weight loss surgeries, and will remain as such. I also wanted to get as few surgeries as possible, and with over a hundred pounds that I need to lose, I'm excited to get the bypass. Everyone is different and you have to do what is going to work for you. Best wishes. ????

The mental side
I definitely understand how you feel. And there are things that sometimes need to be put on hold. For me, it's a work at home job that involves communicating with my clients. And I know that I'm going to be recovering for up to three weeks before I can give them my full attention. I'm just being responsible for my business. So, if you need to put some things on hold, it's definitely understandable.

Losing weight on 6 month program
My insurance required me to lose at least 5% of my weight during my six month nutritionist-monitored diet and exercise plan. My heaviest weight was 298 pounds, so I had to lose basically 15 lbs. If I didn't, or if I gained weight, I wouldn't qualify as a candidate, and I'd have to start over. It was hard but I did it. It took all of the six months to lose. So know that you're blessed that you can either maintain or lose.

Pregnancy After RNY
I replied to the other forum: "And I was going to say there are many people on this forum and others who have had zero problems getting pregnant. I hate to say this but your doctor is wrong. Having the sleeve will not make getting pregnant any easier."

Naysayers.... How to deal
I think people are scared of what they don't know. But instead of simply asking questions about the surgery, they just try to scare the person into not doing it. To me, there's a fine line between concern and disrespect. I think that when the person says that having bypass is their decision, concerned people should back off, not continue to 'grill' the person, because to me, that's disrespect.

Anyone have RNY surgery done be Dr. Ronnie Keith, Norman Oklahoma?
Thanks! How are you doing post-op? How was your surgery?

Goal Weight and handling comments
You can find out your BMI by using a BMI app. The average women's size may be a 12-14, but that's an average, which takes in lower weights and higher weights. For me, the BMI is accurate, as I am 5'7" and my normal BMI range is between 140 and 159 lbs. when I was younger and working out many years ago, I weighed 155 lbs, and I still had about ten pounds to lose. My goal weight is 145 lbs. I will probably be a size 6 or 7. That's ideal for me.

So EXCITED
