  1. No I am going to a doctor over by Charlton Methodist in Duncanville. I live in Duncanville so it is real close. His name is Fears. I never heard of him, but I am going to try him out and see. I looked him up and shows he is in his ealy 60's. I wish they would let you go back to Dr Kim. But I guess that is out of question, unless you want to pay for it. Question, is your port area still tender. I was doing really good. But the last couple of weeks mine has been really tender and hurts from time to time. I call Cynthia and she said it might be I have been doing to much. Hope she is right and I do not have anything going upside down. Dianne TX
  2. Tweenwaters: Sounds like you did great. I hope my fill goes the same next Thursday. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. The only this you forgot was DID it hurt????. Please keep us posted. Dianne TX
  3. My port is my largest incision. Mine is to the left of my belly button about 4 inches. After my surgery about 3 weeks I was feeling little pain. But this last couple of days it has started to hurt again. I think I just did to much I thought I was all ok. I am going to take it easy for the next couple of days and see if it helps. Sure hope so. Dianne TX
  4. lucy66p: Sorry to hear that for you. Keep us posted on how you are doing. Dianne TX
  5. My port area HURTS. I was banded Jan 24, 2008.. I called my doctor and asked him if I need to be concerned. They asked if I had any fever around the port area or if it was red. Which I do not. I told my doctor I was feeling really good with little if any discomfort. But then this past week I have started to fill pain again. I was told to watch for fever or redness. But he thought maybe I have been doing to much. Example lifting to much and have pulled the muscle around where the staples are for my port. Has anyone else gone through this. I am going to keep a close eye on it. Dianne TX
  6. Please let me know what they tell you. I was feeling really good. Most of my pain was completely gone. But just the last week, I have been having pain around my port area. It comes and goes. This morning I am really feeling it more. I was banded on Jan 24, 2008. I am scheduled for my first fill on Mar 6th. Does anyone have any advise. I am thinking about calling my doctor today. Dianne TX
  7. Make sure you let us know how the fill process goes. My date for a fill is March 6th. Just one week after you. Does you port area still get tender sometime. Mine every once in a while gets tender??????? Wonder why. Dianne
  8. Sounds great. I will have to figure out how to log onto Fitday. I usually on on this site Monday through Friday. I try to stay away from it on the weekends. How does that sound.
  9. ok. Have not heard from anyone. How are we all doing. Lets now loose each other. I'm still fighting hunger. Will be so glad to start the fill process. Dianne
  10. Bonnie, sounds like a great idea. Maybe we can push each other. Maybe we just want results to fast. After going through surgery and I was self pay, how about you?, I am so afraid I will fail at this, the same way I have failed in the past. My husband keeps saying you have lost 20 lbs and you are not gaining. He is right, we just need to keep focus. Keep in touich Dianne TX
  11. Bonnie, I am in the same spot as you. My surgery was 1-24-08. I lost weight with the Optifast pre-surgery diet. But I have lost maybe 3 pounds since surgery. Everyone keep telling me keep positive My first fill is March 6th. Sure hopes this helps. Dianne TX
  12. Cowboy, glad you are doing so well. Just don't rush it. Keep us posted on how you are doing. Sure is nice to have so many that used the same surgery center posting together. I am glad you felt the same as I did about Dr Kim and the whole staff, they really are wonderful.
  13. I asked them about eating the day of the fill. I had a choice to go in early in the morning 8:00 or wait till 3:30 in the afternoon. The girl I talked to she would take the early morning appointment and go in without eating and then stay on liquids 2 days after. Let me know what you find out. Something else. My port area has been feeling really good. Today I started to feel a pulling around that area. Go figure, I can't put my finger on what I have done different. Anyone else felt this after 4 weeks from surgery.
  14. This mushie stage is hard. I am hungry all the time. I am really fighting to keep my portions small. I am still drinking 2 protein shakes a day. I sure hope when I get my fill on March 6, it helps. I am holding my weight but wish I could loose some.
  15. Your plan of having surgery Thursday and going back to work the following Tuesday was what I intended to do. But I was still not ready. I took a full week off. But as you will find everyone is different. You will love Dr Kim and his staff. Also TLC are great. I only have 2 more days of mushies and I will be on reqular food. I can't believe it's almost been 4 weeks since my surgery. I am scheduled for my first fill Mar 6th. I am ready.
  16. I took 10 days off after surgery. But everyone is different. About getting support from family and friends. Thats why I only told my husband. I just did not want to deal with opinion's of others. Dianne
  17. Cowboy just keep telling yourself you are in good hands. Dr Kim is wonderful. Everyone at the surgery center are very good and will make sure you feel comfortable. They will explained everything to you. When I left there Thursday the 24th of January I knew I had made the right decision. Please keep us posted how you are doing. We will keep you in our prayers. Dianne
  18. We were banded on the same day. The 24th of January. My surgery was at 9:00. It's nice to have people that used the same surgery center and banded around the same time for support. How are you doing on the mushie's. What have you found to eat. Dianne
  19. Thanks for asking how we are all doing. Sorry I have not posted in a while. I am doing great. I am in my 3rd week after surgery so I'm at the mushie stage. The first couple of days was nice being able to eat something other than Optifast. But for me I am at the point where the Optifast period was easier than this mushie stage. I am trying to stick with Soups. I do like my cottage cheese. Still drinking 2 Optifast a day to help with the hunger. Dr Kim did tell me, I could start to feel hungry, but do not worry, it just means I am healing. I have not really had any complaints. No reqrets I decided to have the band. Looking forward to my journey. From the date I started my pre op 2 weeks before surgery 1-10-08 to today I have lost 20lbs. I know it's going to slow down, but sure is nice to say 20 lbs gone. I have my first fill scheduled for March 6th. Looking forward to the fill. Dianne
  20. Good question. I was really disapointed, but now I am 3 weeks out and I did drop another 2 lbs. Even though the have the ok from the doctor to start the mushie stage, I really do not feel like eating.
  21. I also have some optifast left, so i'm going to drink 2 everyday and one meal of mushies to start with and see how it goes. I explained to Dr Kim yesterday I have not lost any weight since surgery and he said that is common. If I still am swollen from surgery the weight is hard to come off. But he was so nice and supportive. I can not say enough good things about Dr Kim.
  22. That's what I was thinking. So far on the optifast I really have not been hungry. But I know once on the mushies it's going to be harder. I think I am going to call the center back they told me to come to the Plano center. But there might be one not so far from me. Have you started to excercise yet. Dr Kim reminded me yesterday that the excercise is a must. I have not started yet, but I get with the program. Love to hear how you are doing, it helps me know whats next.
  23. Had my Post-Op visit with Dr Kim yesterday afternoon. I am schedule for my first fill on March 6th. I did not even think to ask where we are to show up. Stacy do you know? Last couple of days, I have felt much better. Today I get to start my mushies. I think this is going to be harder that the optifast. What have you been eating?
  24. The Optifast diet is not easy, but I did ok with it, and you will too. I am still on it. Tomorrow will be my last day, I still have some so I will be drinking them while I am on Mushies. Have you had your appointment with Dr Kim yet. He is the greatest. Dianne
  25. Hi Stacy: I am looking forward to my visit with Dr Kim tomorrow. I lost about 14 lbs before surgery with the Optifast diet. But after surgery I have not lost anything. I keep telling myself not to get frustrated. With what I read here, this sounds common. My port area is still very tender. I still can feel pulling in my tummy, so I have not started to do any excercise. Just do not want to push it. Did you get a letter from TLCEdge Wellness program. Sounds like they have a conference call every Wednesday. I think I am going to call in tomorrow.
