Finding it hard to believe...
So , I begin my pre op diet on Sunday in preparation for a January surgery. This morning as I was getting dressed for work I saw the tag in a pair of my favorite "at home " lounge pants from Old Navy. White size XL. They are currently tight and seeing them I was thinking am I *really* going to lose all this weight?? Can I Truly be smaller? Will those pants really be big on me?? I know I Have the will power and the tools to do this but there is still a *small* part of me that's skeptical that even if I do everything right the surgery will still not work for me. I'm 5'3 and have never thought of myself as small.....but I'm hoping to soon! Not sure why I am becoming skeptical.... Just too many years of trying on my own and failing I guess ....????

Nutri bullet or similar?
As you may have seen my previous post, I am starting my pre op diet Sunday. I have done a liquid diet in the past and found that blending my drinks just to incorporate some air helped me to not feel so blasé about my food choices. I have a Vitamix I adore but it's not exactly something I can take to work. So I was considering something like a nutrition bullet. Any input? Suggestions for alternative brands??

So much pain! Please help! - Incision Photos included..rough
I'm glad your coughing it up! The more you move and walk and cough the better you will feel ????

So much pain! Please help! - Incision Photos included..rough
Please do not stop coughing or taking deep breaths...that can lead to pneumonia. When you cough hold a pillow tightly to your stomach. It's called splinting and it will help you to cough deeply and not be in as much pain. And as for the gas, walking and moving is the best thing you can do. Good luck! It will get easier!

Why Oh Why?
Why so nervous??
-
Why Oh Why?
No worries, it's not that they don't want to approve surgery it is that your surgeon wants to know exactly what your health status is prior to taking you to the OR. It's the whole knowledge is power. Good luck!

Why Oh Why?
They are doing some more blood work and if all clear I am good to go for surgery on 12/22. The doctors office said I didn't need to fast but that seems strange. The surgeon ordered: CBC, CMP, A1C, and EKG. Should I fast? And if so, how long? No need to fast for those... But any time cholesterol levels are involved definitely fast Good luck!!

Grr!
One of my previous posts on the subject.... I used www.bariatricpsychevaluations.com Super easy....you go to their site, fill out the application giving them your insurance info and answer a questionnaire. Pick a time and date for your eval (phone call). They will contact you and let you know if your insurance covers your eval or if you need to pay out of pocket. OOP is a flat $100 fee. Then they call you on your scheduled date/time to complete your eval. Uber simple and I even did my eval at 8pm ! Good luck!

Grr!
Do the eval trough Bariatricpsyheval.com If your insurance doesn't cover its 100$ out of pocket Consult done over phone

Post op food question.....Spicy and Sour
So as I was eating a lemon today at work I realized that I need to find out if two of my favorite things are allowed post op! I am looking at being sleeved in January 2016. So I eat lemons, just plain no sugar or salt or anything on them just the lemon. I am also addicted to hot sauce. Specifically Franks Red Hot. Its my preferred condiment and I would like to continue to use it in the future. I am thinking a few drops on boneless skinless chicken breast. So please tell me that no one has has these things restricted post op........
