second fill
ok, so i wanted to post about my second fill. i had 1.2 ccs put in during the first and a month later for the second there was only .6ccs in there. i was told this is normal during th 1st. so anyways, the second fill i got 1.6 put in. things seemed ok the first few days, but after that, i pb EVERY day. it was horrible. really bad pain. i guess it was me just still training myself with smaller bites and more thorough chewing. but i think i got the hang of it now and am making another appointment for a third fill. went to the dr. today and said everything seems great and wrote me a script for it, so i guess i'll be making the appointment tomorrow for the beginning of june. i wana hit that sweet spot so bad. oh and today was the second day on weight watchers, i really stuck to my points today and even fit in my hour power walk. feeling great and so proud of myself today. yay

Weight watchers - Anyone else?
i just joined and started today. i was a member last yr and lost 25 lbs in a few months, but just lost track of it. but i went and got back into it now with the band. my points allowance is 35..but i found that i cant even make it past 25..which is good. the rule tho is, if u dont use all ur points in a day, u lose them. never carry them over. always start with your set points allowance each day. hope u join, i love it..and its great motivation to get the magazine!! i'll stay posted on my ww and band journey. Cheers, Jenna

been a long time..switchin dr.s
wow, i havent written in my blog in such a long time. so much as happened, gonna take a few posts to catch up. alright i'll start where i left off... 1st fill experience.. well 6 weeks after surgery i went and got my 1st fill. it was quite amazing. she only put in 1.2 ccs, i have a 5cc band. i was told the 1st fil was covered thru insurance, well the 1st 90 days. (this lady doesnt take insurance, we (my mom) have to pay out of pocket and then submit it to insurance..such a hassle) so anyways come to find out after i get the fill..that that isnt covered, somethin else is, i forgot what. so i had to pay out of pocket for this..like $200. my mom was livid, and we decided we couldnt afford to keep doing this. before i got the fill i had to go to a radiology place for the esophogram, i found out there that they do fills as well...somethin to keep in mind. so we were goin to stop going to this lady and find someone else. my mom called a bunch of dr.s but no one will touch me because they didnt put the band in, a little odd to me. so i felt it was time for another fill a month later, cuz i didnt have any results. so i made an appointment with that radiology place and that went perfect, they took insurance and i didnt even have a co-pay..mine is usually $20. so that was awesome. we called my family dr. and told him the situation, he said he would look over me and write the scripts for the fills. i feel this is better, but at the same time, this lady i was seeing concentrates mainly on the band and knos her stuff. so i feel a little weary about not seeing any specialist, but i just couldnt afford it if i continued with her..plus i didnt like her and she never remembered me, i always had to get her up to speed on where we left off. that was a little uncomfortable as well. but yea, so thats my story about switching dr.s. i'll post some more on other things later. ta ta for now.

nerves...
hi dragonflygirl. yea my surgery went great for me. i had mine at 9:00a, took about 45 mins. then i went back to the room, had some water, ice chips, and jello. no nausea or pain at all. they gave me lots a morphine lol. and i was discharged by 1:00p that day, just a few hours. so it went beautifully. i only started feelin the pain the next day, my stomach was really sore. gas pains werent too bad either. had it mostly in the shoulder. i felt much better after the 3rd day and was out driving and at my friends house. so im a week out today and feel normal, except for a little pain by the port in my stomach, its very minor though. more like discomfort than pain. but as for the catheter..no i did not have one. the only prep i got was some heparin the blood thinner to prevent blod clots right before surgery and that was it. good luck to u and hope to hear all about ur journey!!

nerves...
hii. i was banded on the 13th. and today is my final day of the liquids. tomorrows mushies!! yay, i just cant wait to have cottage cheese. lol. well the liquids are hard, i was thirsty the first few days and all i wanted to do was guzzle water, but u have to sip, so that was annoying. i was on clear liquids the day of surgery then the day after full. i hate yogurt, applesauce, soups, well tried to at least, i was instructed to drink every 20 mins, but i couldnt do it. i just didnt want anything. mostly just water. once in awhile i would eat somethin..or drink i mean. and it wasnt too bad. but u'll get thru it, u prob wont even want anything at all. just lost my appetite, and i lost a lot of weight to boot. but im hungry now and just dreaming of the day i can eat solids again...good luck to u an keep in touch:thumbup:

Im feeling blue
im feelin the same way to. im 5 days post op. but i dont think its the mourning of food..its more like the fact that i dont feel well. im weak, im still having gas pains, i have to sleep on my back, which i hate, my bowels are all messed up. i have no motivation to do anything. i just want to feel better again. im hoping i will when i start the pureed stage on thursday. thats what im looking forward to right now, its like the light at the end of the tunnel for me. not just bc its food, but bc im hoping i wont feel weak anymore and my bowels will even out. ugh..bandster hell sucks!! lol. keep pushin tho, im doin it everyday..

Surgery was Friday 3-14
had a question about gas x. i asked my dr about it helping and she told me not to believe everything i read online..she was quite rude about it too. but then she explained how the gas isnt from ur insides, intestines..its put into u, outside ur organs therefor the gas x dont help. she said just drink water and walk walk walk. but i bought them anyway, bc once i started eating full liquids i found that i needed them then. just an insight for u.

possible port?
hi everyone. i got banded this morning (woo hoo). and well everything went cool. surgery was at 9 and i was released by 2pm. i was just very swollen i guess from all the gas. i came home, rested, walked, rested walked. and after i slept for 2 hours i woke up and A LOT of the swelling has gone down, i dont think i even feel anymore gas pains. except i got this very sore shooting pain on my right side upper stomach area, its kinda diagonal inbetween my breast and my belly button. i thought they told me they were going to put the port in the middle right below my breasts, but i have no pain there. could this be my port on the right side? its very sore, and seems that the swelling is only on the right now.but its a sharp pains every few minutes, very hard to get out of bed. help it hurts. please share. thanks im angry the surgeon or my dr. never came down to see how i was doing and to show me where the port was. he opperated and then just nurses took care of me. and the Dr. or nurse practitioner i've been working with for months never even came down to see how i was. i really cant stand her and this affrims my feelings. as soon as i do the first post opps with her, im finding someone new. ugg fustrated.

medical clearance
i did the psychology and my insurance had an option, do 1 yr with the dr or 3 months with the LB dr, so i opted for that. like i said i did the psych, so i guess all the other things u mentioned just need to be done. thats done with one dr right? bc they just told me to go see him and get clearance and have it sent 1 week before which is next thursday and my dr appointment is the day before on wednesday, so i would guess im only going to him, not enough time to see others ya kno? i just want this to be done and the 13th to be here hahaha. my fingers are crossed to for u and the approval, mine only took a week and a half to approve, how long have u been waiting, hope its fast like mine. good luck and thanks for the feedback. :rolleyes2:
