  1. Considering how long it's been, today, the 4th of my recommitment, is significant. Even better is feeling confident and eager to continue.

  2. Having surgery on Monday, super excited, just can't wait

  3. Feeling good this morning! Going out to sample and select protein mix and gather staples for my pre-op and post-op weeks. I'm really excited to start this new chapter.

Yay, exciting times ahead! Let me know if I can help at all. I'm a little over 11 months post op now.

  4. PokemonGo is the best thing so far in 2016, exercise, lose weight and meet men at the same time!

  5. Things just aren't going well...after extensive research yesterday I realized I've messed up my pre-op diet by having fruit.

  6. Does anyone know about the vitamin patches, are they irritating?

I've been using vitamin patches for 8 months and my blood work is the same as it was before: perfect. I use the PatchMD brand. You gotta use them on an area that doesn't have a lot of fat, like a shoulder blade or collar bone. I also sometimes put it on my ankle.

  8. Play Pokemon! Enjoy the outdoors! Walk and hatch those eggs. 10km in walking has never been so fun.

  9. Went to my first consultation with my surgeon today. After he examined my abdomen, he said that I have a small frame. Still trying to wrap my head around that one.

same here! I'm 5ft5 with wide shoulders but my hips, ribcage, and legs are actually tiny. My mom is 4ft11 and most of the rest of her family are not much taller. I always thought I had a larger frame, like those on my dad's side who are all 6ft and broad. Nope! :P Turns out I'm actually kinda tiny lol. http://imgur.com/wxCv8k6

  10. Went to store, used a mortozied cart (because of my ACL knee surgery TWO weeks ago). My teenager was Mortified. Saying that this was like my "600 lb life) and that I needed to lose weight (duh, WLS planned for Nov). I laughed it off, but also realized that if I don't have surgery/lose weight, I am headed for motorized cart & how hard it would be. :(

@WLSResources/ClothingExch LOL! You made me laugh out loud here in my quiet apartment. Thanks for that!

@Anna Nim I had the same surgery 2 months ago! Well that, plus a meniscus repair and a meniscus trim. But a few months ago in San Diego, we went to the zoo, and my knee was so messed up that my boyfriend and aunt convinced me to get a scooter so I could see the whole zoo. I was pretty mortified too, especially when strangers stopped in their tracks to stare/glare at me or even confront me and tell me "I should be walking!" I weighed about 250 at the time, so I was definitely overweight but in no way "600 pound life" large. People are going to be ridiculous/ignorant/judgmental no matter what, so do what you need to so you can recover and ignore the a-holes! Teenagers are, as a whole, incapable of ignoring them, hence the mortification. :P Hope your knee heals well and quickly!

Maybe it's only raw carrots! @SweetPeas were yours raw or cooked and therefor soft?

Sooo much fiber. Our stomachs can't break it down enough before they move it right through, causing pain and discomfort all the way down. I, too, learned the hard way. Hope you're feeling better!

  13. Moving along.... I guess this last 50-60 pounds is not going to come off as "easily" as the first 150+. But I have to laugh because I can not complain, at all!

  14. I'm almost certain I'm going into maintenance even though I still weigh 225 pounds. Is this normal? Is this my body's "set point"? Trying not to be discouraged, but I've been within the same three pounds for over a month. Could this just be a stall brought on by lack of exercise as I heal from knee surgery? Advice is appreciated! D:

  15. Stressing! MAJORLY stressing! :(

Money (and lack thereof), my immobility as my knee heals, had a client back out of a job that would have given me nearly a grand right before school that I was really counting on, I'm late on rent, I have no idea if my tuition assistance is going to cover my huge school bill, etc. Mostly money and my inability to make it currently. I feel a lot less horrible and frantic after swimming for an hour, though, so it's a little better now. Still find it difficult to cope without food, though I haven't been slipping into old bad habits, thankfully.

  16. the house is a royal mess - because I am a stress cleaner. which means I have been tearing things up, to clean it out. on the other hand I am finding comfort in the routine...... walking in the house in the morning, eating my protein, drinking my fluids - going forward with a broken heart.

@OutsideMatchInside - thanks for your input. I suppose that all makes a great deal of sense. It's odd how I have trouble being logical and objective about these things when I rarely struggle with that in other areas of my life. Sometimes I just need a little reassuring or to hear others' experiences. I may be switched into a functional brace AND cleared for swimming today. Say a little prayer for me! :)

  19. What a difference a year has made.

  20. NSV? Lost and caught: So there I was--surf fishing (my favorite thing among all things)--standing on the beach in my old, way too loose sweat pants and surf shoes when my lines went "zzzzziiiiiiinnnnnggggg!!!!!" (really big fish on the hook and taking my line). I yanked the rod, fish lurched deeper into the ocean--pulling me in. There I was knee deep--my now water soaked sweats (now way too big since weight loss) down around my knees. What happened? I caught a forty four inch striped bass and lost my pants. I never felt the least bit embarrassed. I was feeling way to joyful, not only for catching a nice fish, but for losing enough weight to lose my pants in the process! I guess it's a good thing I wore my new baby blue undies that day. smile emoticon I was the only woman surf fishing that day and all of the guys were good spirited about the whole experience and attempted to save my "dignity" Ha! I had just out fished all of them!!!!! Joy, joy,

  21. progress is when you're out for a walk and kind of don't recognize your shadow..........

  22. saw a friend for the first time today since Christmas time. I am down about 50 # since then. He was stunned by the changes, and that was a very nice reaction. Encourages me to keep on with all the hard work.

That's always a nice feeling. I saw someone yesterday who I haven't seen since New Year's, when I was about 60 pounds heavier. Feels kind of great, doesn't it? :)

@Daisee68 - good point! I'll remember that. I'm trying hard to remain positive despite being in a fair amount of pain.

@Valentina - it was an acl reconstruction using my own bone/patellar ligament, a meniscus trim and meniscus repair. Appreciate the prayers! I've never experienced pain like this... not even close.
