    Alcoholic beverages

I really didn't mean to create a controversial thread here. I'm a lobbyist and in my line of work I attend functions where the social norm is to have a drink and Celebrate. Maybe I should rephrase the question as this: Please list your adult beverage of choice post-op. This will allow me to look at suggestions rather than opinions. Thank you to all who have responded and on another note I was sleeved on July 20th at 292 lbs and I'm now 256 lbs as of yesterday morning. This was the best decision I've made. Hope everyone is enjoying success.

    Squats and cruches/situps

I would be very careful, if you do abdominal exercises too soon you can get a hernia or it can create bulged in your stomach that will look real bad. Pat

    Alcoholic beverages

Roxie Malone I understand where you are coming from and I can do without, however as part of my job I have to be at social functions and need to blend in I'm not thinking about drinking every day just when the occasion calls for it. What I don't want to happen when I'm I. Those situations is to drink something that would cause me throw up because of either carbonation or too much sugar in the drink. Thank you all for the suggestions I really appreciate the feedback. I might have to start liking wine ????

    Secret sleever

I've tried but it's hard when you have to refuse food or drinks. So far I've only told family and if anyone asks I just say I had surgery and drop it at that.
  6. Was just wondering if anyone has any advice for a type of alcoholic beverage that works for sleeves? I know we're not supposed to do any carbonation and I can't drink wine (never have been able to) and I don't want fruity drinks be of the sugar. Any advice?

    Gummi Vitamins

I will try the adult gummies fro. Costco. Thanks for the replies. Also how awesome is Costco????
  8. My surgeon told me that after 2 weeks i could go back to the gym. I've been going back now for about a week and half and the one thing i noticed was how quickly I got tired. They suggested that i do just cardio for the first 4-6 weeks to let the stomach heal completely and also to avoid any hernias or bulges in the stomach. They did say that if I had to do some weights, I should only do about 1/2 of what i was doing pre-op and build your strength back up. After about 6 or 7 workouts im back up to doing 45 minutes to 60 minutes of cardio at a intermediate level without getting too tired. I will suggest that no matter what you do, keep sipping water while you workout or you will get very dehydrated... i learned that the hard way. Good luck hope this helps.
  9. So one of the things I've notied since my surgery on 7/20/15 is that now that I'm back at the gym and working out, i miss drinking large amounts of water after i work out... I'm used to having some water with me during workouts but usually at the end i gulp down a large bottle of water, refill it and do it again. When i went back to the gym for the first time about a week ago, I made the mistake of drinking too much water from my bottle and i have to say it hurt... lesson learned but is anyone else having this experience? thanks in advance...

    Gummi Vitamins

JamieLogical I've been instructed to crush them indefinitely if I opt not to do the chewables. I've tried a sample my NUT gave and couldn't get them down. Thanks for the info I will look for some adult chewables that you all have suggested.
  11. For protein I'm using a protein blend called Syntha 6 it comes in a powder and I blend it with almond milk. It tastes to me at least like a vanilla milkshake. They have other flavor a too and when I feel like getting crazy I add some fruit to it. Lol. Hope this helps

    One week out

I'm 3 1/2 weeks post op and I'm on blended foods. I eat a lot of soup as long as I blend first. The string cheese sounds delicious I might try that I've also eaten a lot of guacamole with my soups it gives me some added flavor. I would take it easy on the solid foods a week out your scar is still vulnerable to tearing. Good luck.
  13. I'm 3 1/2 weeks post op and I'm having issues with crushing my vitamins and chasing them with water or even putting them in applesauce. I just can't do the taste. Anyone using Gummi vitamins and if so are they working for you and if so what brand has worked the best. Thanks in advance.
  14. Thanks everyone I'll try the ice and I'm eating Popsicles. Something warm and crunchy would be nice. I know it's just in my head but it's getting to me. Thanks again.
