I am in agreement from my personal experience. Breakfast is not enjoyable or even wanted. A simple bar or Protein Drink around 11-12 works well for the am
After my work day I either work out or finish errands and I get hungry around 4. Time to get some good Protein and Fiber. Water is still a work in progress for me. But I try daily
I guess that says a bit. I TRY DAILY

There are many naysayers about the band, but also many of us who credit the band with changing our lives!
Please trust the process and follow the Protein. Water. And exercise as best as you can.
You can reevaluate in a couple of months, but don't let the horror stories scare you .
I, like many others, have had little to no problems with my band. For years. !!!
I credit it with totally changing my life.
And living for years without the burden of 90 extra lbs!!!
Best of luck and please keep posting⭐️

Agree with @JustWatchMe. A fill level can be great for a bit, and then change. Even over a couple of days. What is your band total size? Most of what I lost was lost at 3.0 in a 10.0 band.
In any case, work your band hard this first year. Results are less spectacular after one year, so try and get most of your weight off in the first 12 months.

May I add my congratulations, I am back in ONE-Derland but the last time was about 6 years ago when my band was to tight and I got really cocky and took everything for granted and after 4 years made it back up to 250.
So even though it is possible regain the weight back it is even more possible to get back on track.
Now being back in ONE-derland means a whole lot more My Band is a good tool and gentle reminder to make more good decisions then bad ones.
    Keep up the good work

Agree with above. I never gained, but didn't really start losing until month four. Then everything changed. No hunger at all. The fact that you're down 25 is awesome!!!

You will not see the real weight lost tell months 3 and 4 because you have to find your fill number and they start you off slowly to find that number

@@hmj2015 You will get there soon enough! I've taken it by by day but honestly looking back, the time has flown, and the work and wait of 8 months to get here (down 62 pounds) has been worth every second. Took me 15 years to pack on the extra 100 pounds, and only 8 months to get rid of over half of it? That's a great deal to me!
Woo wee, feeling so good. La la la!

Hi everyone! It's been quite a long time since I've posted in this forum. I see some old familiar faces still posting and commenting.
Just to catch up, I was banded December of 2013. Highest weight 295. I reached my goal of 165 in February of 2015. I've been mostly maintaining since then. I've gained about 5 pounds recently and it's something I need to work on. Lifetime success is not letting it get out of control, right?
Since my band, I discovered a love of fitness and running. I ran a half marathon last April on the day before my 42nd birthday. This August,I completed a Sprint Triathlon!
Just want to say, I love my band and I am loving having my life back.
I hope everyone is doing well.
To all the newbies, find a plan and STICK WITH IT! The band is only a tool, you must make some changes.

Well guess who stepped on the scale this morning to 198.4 pounds? Me, fellow WLS friends! I am officially in "ONE-DERLAND!" Huzzah!!!!!!!
I started 8 months ago at 259 lbs. One lap-band and whole lotta good exercise and careful eating later, and I am finally below 200 lbs for the first time in 15 years.
I am fighting back tears at this very moment!
Had to share this success. This is a big one for me. I reached a goal of getting in the 100's before students came back to the College. I'm not much of a goal-setter, but I'm here!
    Woo Woo!
If I can do this, (I am the QUEEN of lack of willpower) ANYONE can do this!!!!

    Hello,
I am an advid coffee drinker. I quit prior to my surgery, but after I recovered I started back up. I know they say not to use sugar, but if I do not like the coffee I am served I use sugar instead of artificial sweetners.
I really think sugar is better for you if you have to have sweet.
During this process my A1C has dropped from 9.1% to 6.0% without the aid of medications!!! Yay...I am now medicine free!
I wish all of you the best of luck on your journey. I have a ways to go yet but am loving my band!

One thing that happened to me in GRADE school ... The boys starting calling me "prego" because I had a little belly. I was in FIFTH grade. That tease followed me for years. They would say the tag line from Prego sauce, too - "it's all in there". It was mortifying and even when I lost a lot of weight in high school, I was always afraid of them bringing it up again.

I felt the exact same way. I was banded Aug 6th also and I just had a fill last week. I was at a stand still on my weight loss until I had the fill. I am very fearful that I am not gonna succeed with the band. My hardest times are when I at birthday parties, or out to dinner.....I get moody and depressed because I can't eat like I used to but yet I'm happy at other times.

    Starting out at 198 (kinda)

Hi folks. I don't have as much to lose as somebody who is, let's say, 302 pounds. I weigh 198 and have been at this weight for quite a while. I go to the gym once a week (it used to be more) and I eat an average of probably 1900 calories a day. My diet is currently free of most processed sugars and all soda, focusing on high Protein, low carb, and frequent salads with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. I do have several cocktails each weekend. I have the band and want to get to my goal weight of 145.
    *****
Hi folks. That person above is me - today. I was actually banded 16 months ago. I started out at 302. I lost weight like crazy and dropped 100 pounds in 7 months. I got moving on a treadmill one day post op. I was super compliant with post op eating and dropped 50 pounds before my first fill. WLS saved my life. I got to my green zone. Fill level is optimal. Then I stopped losing.
What changed? A lot, now that I think about it. Here is some of it.
Some of you know that I filed for divorce four months post-op and left an emotionally and financially abusive husband. Moved out of my home. Took my college age daughters with me. Long story, but smartest thing I ever did. I got WLS precisely so that I would have the courage to leave. It worked.
We moved in with my mom. Nuff said.
I've been in this state for a year now. One year. NSETBEx (not-soon-enough-to-be-ex) is blocking every step of the divorce and financially cleaning me out. Won't pay bills, college, etc, without court intervention, and continues to emotionally abuse my kids from afar. Nuff said about him. He doesn't deserve another paragraph.
Me. What's changed with me? I became more social. For all of my adult obese life I was hiding in my house with my food. Now I go out with my bestie on weekends and listen to bands and go to summer festivals and make new friends. I've joined Codependents Anonymous and go to two meetings a week there. I go to therapy every two weeks -- she started out as a divorce coach but we switched to regular therapy. I go to Overeaters Anonymous about once a week. I joined a gym a couple of months ago and just ended 12 sessions with a personal trainer.
The divorce is stressful as hell. It is killing me to think I will still be married at the end of 2015. We haven't even started negotiating the house and assets yet.
My kids are home for the summer and busy busy busy. One is working a good intern job and one is taking four college classes since she changed her major and needs to stay on time for graduation. We three share my car in the evenings. Nuff said.
I can't buy a house until the divorce is final because except for my decent salary, I am now flat broke. He's draining me dry, and all joint assets are tied up in the divorce.
    I'm in "waiting" hell.
Where does that leave my weight loss?
I have been down on myself for not losing weight these last 7 months. Then today I had an epiphany.
We all start out every day from exactly where we are. Not where we were. Not where we think we should be. Where we ARE.
    So where am I today?
Today I am a 198 pound 5'5" 54 year old woman who goes to the gym once a week and walks a 5k on the treadmill and works out on some strength machines. I eat high protein and low carb. I don't eat between meals. I don't eat foods with sugar. I drink alcohol on weekends which messes up my sugar and calories. I eat buttered popcorn in large quantities at the movies at least once a week which blows my calories to hell. I eat too many fried foods.
What would happen if I stopped treating myself as a failure who hasn't gotten to goal after 16 months, and treated myself instead as starting out at 198 with a LapBand to help me?
The circumstances of my life today are in some ways very different and in some ways very much the same as they were a year ago when I left NSETBEx. Same: stressful with constant divorce crap. Different: just about everything else.
    ***
Hi folks. I'm starting out at 198 and have a little over 50 pounds to lose. I have a LapBand and I'm looking for encouragement and support to improve my eating and exercise more. Can anyone relate?

I was banded in May of 2013. To-date I have lost 159lbs. I went from a size 22 in pants and a size 3XL in shirts to a size 2-3 in pants and sm/med in shirts.
    Height 5'1"
Pre Op Weight 289lbs. ( all of the weight loss stats below includes the 16lbs I lost during the pre-op diet)
    3 Months- 60lbs down
    6Months- 91 lbs down
12 Months- 144 lbs down (past my original goal weight by 5lbs)
    15 Months- 159 lbs down
Today Maintaining my loss for a year.
There is NOT ONE THING I don't love about my band! I would do it again in a heart beat! The band is a tool not an overnight fix-all, it's a lot of work, you have to make the right choices, follow your doctors orders to the T and believe in yourself! If you're committed to doing your part the band will do it's job and you will be successful!
Best wishes to you! You can do this!

i'm 6 months out, so i can give you my 3 and 6 month info so far...
my starting weight at surgery was 269 (highest weight 289), i'm 5'9'' tall.
    3 months - 40 pounds
    6 months - 70 pounds
i absolutely know i'm going to have a lot of sagging skin; i already do. i'm at the point in my life where i'd much rather have sagging skin than the fat, so i'll take it. i'm 32 years old.
so far, there's nothing i dislike about the band. i have no yet reached a place where i feel like my restriction is adequate, so a lot of the weight i've lost has been through sheer willpower. that's been really difficult, but i have high hopes that i'll soon reach the appropriate restriction level.
