Am I a lost cause? How can I believe in me when I have failed so many times in the past?
Your doctor sounds SO MUCH like my doctor!!! She wouldn't help me and just figured I was lazy and whatever else. Well you know what? Its MY health on the line, not hers, so I googled the closest bariatric center by me and gave them a call myself and here I am on my way to a healthier me ???? I suggest doing the same. They will ask you a TON of questions about your health, family, etc. They'll send you for a TON of tests so they can figure out what's best for you! ???? If I can do it, you can too ❤

Shots?
@@KindaFamiliar oh, I'll definitely be mentioning it! Lol thank you for making me aware though!

there's a ton of topics on protein BUT...
@@IcanMakeit The ones I found in-store are the same price as the regular Protein ($20) ???? Maybe you can check them out as well! I was browsing in WalMart today and they have Six Star protein isolate in a few flavors (3 I think?). I know there's chocolate and French vanilla cream...i cant remember if I seen strawberry.

Shots?
Haha I'll hopefully just faint and be passed out through it. I cringe at the sight of needles. When I get blood work they know not to let me see the needle.

Shots?
...*panicking* self...administered...shots....10 of them? I'm getting woozy just thinking about it.

I've noticed by going into stores and comparing protein that an Isolate has the same amount of protein but fewer everything else, such as carbs, cals, sugars, etc. Are we able to use an isolate? Is yes, great! If no, how come?

Mine hasn't mentioned getting any shots wither. Does everyone receive them?

Outside of being healthy, what are you looking forward to most...
@@Monnie815 haha same here! And I love shoes! @@HopeandAgony my kids know overweight people are still people. They know they have feelings that can be hurt also and they're no different we just have issues with our weight. That weight doesn't make someone pretty or ugly. Its all about health, but skinny people can be unhealthy too which is why we watch what we bring into our household food wise.

Thank you ❤ and I agree ???? I was talking to my son about the surgery (hes advanced for being 6) when we were watching "my 600lb life" on tv. He asked if that's the surgery I was getting. I explained no but its similar. He said he didn't want me to have it because he loved me how I am, which of course made me tear up (I've been REALLY emotional lately). I explained I was doing it to be healthy not to be pretty but its definitely a perk. He then said "mommy you're already pretty but you'll be able to wear your new high heels that u love" lol

My main concern is living a long happy life with my kids. my grandfather adopted me when i was younger because i had an absolutely horrible childhood. i ended up pregnant with my first son and my grandpa absolutely adored his great grandson. they were BEST friends, he always talked about Lhanden's first day of school and watching him play football. well, my grandpa passed away 5 months before his first day of preschool. It took a rough toll on me and my son. He already lost his best friend when he was 4 (he's 6 now), and he remembers him to a T. I dont need him losing his mother too. I couldn't care about anything else. There's other perks like getting cute clothes, wearing a bathing suit, feeling comfortable physically and emotionally but in all honesty I'd still do this if being healthier was the only perk on the table because that means the most.

Interested in the Sleeve, Dr. recommended Bypass
I weigh 226 and my Dr suggested the sleeve for me... I have horribly irregular periods, hypothyroid, and I'm insulin resistant. Did he say why exactly he's choosing bypass over the sleeve?

Hair Loss :(
Biotin is supposed to help...whether it does or doesn't idk yet (I'm pre op). Honestly I'm concerned badly with it but I'm thinking about it like this....hair will shed AND grow back and I have thick hair so hopefully its not too noticeable. Loose skin is a bigger worry of mine lol.

Seriously considering getting sleeved
I came into this knowing very little and when I found this site I learned SO much. I'm in the same boat as you. My weight is always fluctuating and I get frustrated. I've done low carb, cal, fat diets, fad diets, stupid DVDs, everything under the sun and nothing's worked. I crave to be a runner. I wanna be able to turn to exercise, not food, to comfort me.

200 protein shakes! yum yum yum :D
I stumbled across this website that has recipes for 200 Protein shakes. The first two/three have alcohol so avoid those obviously, but the rest I've seen dont look too bad. I hope this helps if anyone is sick of the same few. http://bariatricrevisionary.blogspot.com/p/200-protein-shakes.html?m=1 (I got so excited I forgot to post the link haha!)

Seriously considering getting sleeved
Hi! I'm 25, 5"4', and 226 lbs. Hoping to get sleeved Jan 16'. If you have a BMI of 40+ you dont need medical reasons to qualify, if your below 40 you'll need medical reasonings..how many depend on your insurance (mine requires 3). You'll be required to do a lot of testing including an EGD, etc. They pretty much find everything wrong health wise so you can have the surgery. You might be required by your insurance to attend support groups (give/take 3 meetings). You'll be required to meet with a nutritionist (NUT) and be on a supervised diet for 3-6 months (once again, depending on insurance). Some require you to lose 5-10% of your body weight within 6 months to show you can stick to a strict diet plan, since you'll be on one after surgery. as for your child, I have two boys 5 & 6 yrs old. Make plans for child care cuz you could be discharged the same day or 3-4 days later, everyone's body reacts differently. hair loss..it happens. I'm scared to death of it because I love my hair BUT it will grow back. It doesn't happen because of this surgery, hair loss happens when ANYTHING traumatic happens to your body, such as a car accident..child birth..etc. realize this isn't a way to get skinny fast. This is a forever change. Its not easy and there will be times you get frustrated and wanna give up but you literally cant, because your stomach is pretty much gone (they'll take out 85% of your stomach). If u have a strong relationship with food I'd attend food addiction groups because post op is gonna be hell. I LOVE food and after surgery it won't be the same. Especially when you're stuck on liquids. I'm on this site A LOT because I'm addicted to information. I wanna know as much as possible, good AND bad and wanna be prepared. Everyone here is great and willing to help in any way they can. No question is stupid here (I asked about losing my boobs last week LOL) so don't feel ashamed to ask anything. If you have more questions or want a weight loss buddy, you can always send me a message
