  1. 100 Pounds -- I'm almost afraid to even set such a goal! You are AMAZING!!!!! Thank you for showing it CAN be done! Maybe after we each lose 100 lbs we could have a party in those pants -- I think I have some stretchies we can use if too many of us show up!!!! Congratulations to you --Fabulous!
  2. I got my date! I got my date! It's Oct 24 with Dr Schneider -- I am so excited -- have some work to do now on pre op weight loss and upping the walking -- it's so soon I'm thrilled!
  3. I say dance in the rain anyways!!!! You are in the same boat as me -- I'm being banded 10/24 and I think I could dance in the rain too!
  4. It does make it so "real" for so long it's been just an idea and now it's actually going to happen -- the only thing I can compare it to is having a baby -- you are preggo so long and you know the end is coming (and you want it to soooo bad) but when it does, you can't believe it's over in a flash......
  5. I never thought they'd weigh me again -- thanks for the tip. I am going to take the weight loss seriouslt now though -- I think the whole pattern will help get me ready for banded life anyways..............
  6. It's been so long in coming, I can't believe it's happening! I went for my surgical consult today and got the date of October 24th!!! The program that I am in requires a weight loss of 10lbs prior to surgery. I have lost some weight, but not 10lbs so I thought for sure they would defer me. I was dreading it. But they didn't even weigh me. The 24th is right around the corner -- I am so excited -- I practically danced all the way back to my car!
  7. I am kind of having this weird issue with being able to tell friends/people I know in passing, but not my family/co-workers. In otherwords, I have avoided telling the people I see everyday and find it easier to talk to more casual aquaintences....Maybe it's b/c I don't want to be watched or feel in a fishbowl like Jessie & the Chef talked about. But I do get a feeling of guilt over "being sneaky". I, too, am a very open person and it is not in my nature to not have it all laying out on the table for everyone to know. I am just not willing to accept negative opinions/criticism/judgements on this topic and I know that's what will come from those closest to me -- whether it is out of love or not, I just will not hear it!
  8. Some of the other "groups" are planning nights out. I was wondering what they would do -- all split a meal? I mean if there's supposed to be no drinking and very little eating what are they going to do? I guess they could go to a movie but that would limit talking/bonding....just curious
  9. Hi I am at BIDMC too -- Dr Scneider. The whole program is great, I started in July and am meeting the surgeon on Oct 6th to get a date. If you got to BIDMC web site you can get alot of info about the program -- good luck! I hope to be banded in Nov/Dec. I think the program generally takes about 3 months to complete depending on how flexible your schedule is.....................
  10. My hubby says that's 11:15 for me -- sorry chickies way past my bed time, but try it out for me and maybe we can join there sometime later at an earlier date............
  11. OK I'm a dim wit -- is that 9:15 on the east coast?
  12. Hey Lynn I had originally been referred to Dr Jones but when I went for the info session, Dr Schneider lead it, and I found him totally hilarious and very knowlegeable so I switched over. Haven't had my consult with him yet, they are hopefully reviewing my file TODAY and I will get an appt with him scheduled by this afternoon!!!! All other steps of the program are FInISHED! I am sure I have wuestions, but I am off to work now.....gotta dash!
  13. OK teresa I just woke up -- can't think of that right now!!!
  14. Let's make a pact to use it more -- it would be easier!
  15. with that accoplished I can now go to bed!! I was a woman obsessed. Look forward to "talking" more in the future
