This thread is for me! I am not required to start a liquid diet until next week ( my surgery is 11/2) but I decided to start 2 shakes and one meal a day on yesterday 10/19, I was on my food funeral campaign and I got so sick over the weekend that I just had enough and started a semi liquid first. I am in a weird emotional state and I just want this to be over with. My body is fighting me hunger pains etc. But I have to do this for me.

I am in Chicago, getting my surgery at Little Company of Mary Hospital - the Midwestern Bariatric Institute which is a " Center of Excellence".

Congrats! I am scheduled one day before on 11/2, I am only required to have one week of a liquid diet, but I may start a few days before.

My husband is being supportive but I try not to talk his ear off about it. He said "don't do this thing and then forget about me" my heart broke and I reassured him that we in this for at least another 55 years! He is just afraid he will come around.

I wanted to come back to original post. I was approved by my insurance for RNY and my surgery date is 11/2/15, exactly 4 months from my first post here. I have so many emotions.????????????????????????

The surgeon is scheduled out that far, I have an HMO( BCBS) and my primary dr submitted the paperwork last week.

Hello, I am in Chicago and I just got my November date this morning! November 2nd is my date! I got approved this week for surgery. I am waiting to get a call from central scheduling at the hospital regarding my X-ray , EKG, and blood work. I am excited but very nervous

@karlinjax, I haven't told any family outside of my husband and father. I don't care for anyone else's opinion. My mom passed five yrs ago , I know she would be scared , but still wanting me to be healthier. I know my dad is a little scared but he will be there and supportive. That is all I need! Concentrate on those who do support you, and don't harbor any resentment for those that do not. After all, this decision is all about YOU!
