  1. Brandy, I think I was walking out when you were just abt ready to get your fill. Did you have a little one with you? If so I think I saw you for just a second. How did it go? It was my first time and rather "strange". I feel some restriction so hopefully I'll start losing again. Still doing the treadmill 2 days down thousands more to go...:rolleyes2::cool2:
  2. Woofay-- You can do it if I can do it. I hate working out as well I just know that it is somthing I have to do everyday with 1 day off for good behavior. LA-- How are you doing. Looks like the weight it just dropping off. GREAT JOB!!
  3. Well I did 2.25 miles on the treadmill today (43 minutes) and I jogged 3/4 of a mile. I am so happy with myself. Went to church this morning and had on a pair of pants that I bought this summer that was 1 size to small and they fit. They actually fit good, not tight. I was so happy. Plus my husband is taking me to STOMP in March, so who knows by than I could be down another size. I made a pack with myself that I am going to do the treadmill 6 days a week, so I need everyones help to keep me on top of that. Ask, yell and encourage me to reach this goal. PLEASE AND THANK YOU for helping me do this, I need this help to keep me on track. I have my first fill on Tuesday and I have to admit I am nervous. Natalie said she would hold my hand since my husband has to work.
  4. Mal-- For a while I was getting about 2-3 stones every 6 months. They say in Colo we get dehidrated and that can bring them on. I heal with calcium instead of scar tissue so I produce alot of calcium I guess. It is worse than having a baby totally naturally (I know I did that 2x's). Once you pass them though the pain goes away. Hang in there and drinks lots of fluids. If you happen to pass it and find it, you can have them test it to see what kind it is. Then you will know if they will be reoccuring or not.
  5. Mal-- I get kidney stones alot, they suck and the last 2 I passed at home. If you cont to get them the drs. will run test to see what is causing them. Mine are calcuim based, which is funny because I don't drink that much milk. Good luck and drink lots of wter to help pass them, if you haven't passed them already.
  6. Lap-- OMG...you are a total HOTTIE...:rolleyes2:
  7. FW: I have no regrets. I feel great and am getting smaller by the day. You will do great as well and we are all hear to offer advice when we can. My appetite has increased over the last week, but I have not had a fill yet. I go next week for my first one. So right now I am trying to watch what I eat and remind myself not to eat to much.
  8. Fatwidow: Welcome and congrats on taking such a huge step to get healthier. I was just banded 1/2/08 and have lost of 20lbs so far. I too lost my Mom this past summer(june 9, 2007), so I know what you are going thru there. I am lucky to have a great husband to help me thru it (I don't know what I would do without him, just keep thinking of your beautiful kids). Best of luck to you.
  9. LA-- Best of luck to you today, you will do GREAT!!!!!!!!!!:tt1:
  10. Sunshine -- I felt the same way, more pain then I expected. I remember by day 5 I was feeling a lot better. So hang in there. I had bleeding as well. I am still a little achey, however not enough that anybody notices. The only person who knows is my hubby, so I just pass it off as cramps and that seems to work.
  11. Woofay -- I would love to join you next month. Just let me know when, it all depends on my oldest daughters volleyball schedule. But I will surely try. LA -- The diet is going great, I am down almost 17 lbs. I wore some pants today that I haven't had on in over a year. YEAH!!!!:frown: I keep thinking about getting on the treadmill, but am tired and achey today. But I have a friend that worked out this morning so I told her I would work out as well. So I guess I'm off to walk my 30 minutes on the treadmill.
  12. Hi Linz, I had my banding done 1/2/08. I love it and Dr. K and everyone in his office they are so nice and helpful. Best of luck to you.
  13. Hey everyone, Great pic from last night, sorry I couldn't make it. Maybe next time. Sounds like you all had a great time. LA- How is the pre-op diet going, next week is the big day right? Sunshine- Hope you are feeling better. I didn't have anything like that but I know I had more pain then I thought I was going to have. It does get better each day. I know for me walking helped.
  14. Threedogpeople: Thanks for the recipes I will try them. I remember the cauliflower one from the South Beach Diet and remember that my whole family liked them. thanks again,
  15. Brandy: Thanks for the suggestion I'll try it. I have my post op appt tomorrow, Natalie called this am to see how I was doing and gave me a few other suggestions. I walked on the treadmill last night for 30 minutes and am really surprised that it helped me not feel as sore. So I'll have to keep that up. Which Red Robin do you all go to, and are newbies welcome?
  16. Happy Birthday Michelle. Here's to a GREAT year to come.
  17. Sunshine, As of this morning (4 days post-op) I am not in too much pain. If anything you could pass it off as craps. But I think if you take a week off you will be fine. I have moved on to the mushie phase of my post op diet does anyone have any good suggestions on what to eat? I hit the treadmill yesterday for a whole 5 minutes, hopefully I can up it to 10 today (we'll see).
  18. L.A.: Sounds like you are pretty lucky as well. Are you getting excited? I still am, even though I can't believe I actually did it.
  19. Sunshine, I'm sore like I did situps or worked out a little to hard. It hasn't been to bad and I noticed once I started walking around it got better. I'm even going to do a little on the treadmill today. My kids are 15 and 8 so no picking them up. I will keep you updated my progress. Where do you live, are you traveling far? I started the full liquid diet this am and it seems to be going well. I did have a little nausea yesterday, but Dr.K called in a new prescription for me for a melt away tablet that worked great. I talked to him in the afternoon abt it and he said he might switch to using that instead of the yuckie suppositories. I hate those and the tablet seemed to work better for me away. Got on the scale and so far have lost 12 lbs since starting the pre-op diet. I can't believe that if I lose 1 more pound I'll be under 200. God what a great feeling. My husband went back to work this morning for the first time since my banding and has already called 2x's to check on me. He has been so great getting my jello, popsicles and soups everyday and just plain taking care of me. He even did the laundry. Well, hope everyone has a great weekend...
  20. Hey Sunshine and welcome. I just had my lapband done on 1/3/08. I'm already down 9 lbs from when I started my pre-op diet. I feel pretty good again today. Just woke up abt 4am with nausea really bad, waited until about 6:30 than called Dr. K because I had started dry heving. He called in another prescription for me and I have felt better ever since. The people at the surgery center were all wonderful...and they were even dealing with a jerk of a husband when I was there. But they still kept their cool. I am a little scared I have to get out of my sweats today and put on something nice to go to my oldest daughter's volleyball parent meeting. Not sure how that will go, because like I sd I am still a little sore. Well, I'm off to get ready... Have a great weekend.
  21. viridescence, Thanks for the help (let's see if I did it right). As for when to fly out, if it were me I would wait a day and fly on Saturday. I just got banded yesterday and am still groggy, sore and moving slow. I know that everyone heals differently so you might do better than I am. Best of luck to you and thanks again. denise:p
  22. Hello Everyone, Thanks for asking about my banding (i am 20 hrs out). I feel pretty good not to much pain. It went great and Dr. K was awesome. I was a little nervous on the way to the hospital, but my husband was great and really settled me down. He also took really great care of me when we got home. I would like to do a ticker but not sure how, can anyone help (I'm sorta computer stupid). Thanks for all the support and keep it coming. Denise
  23. LA: Where are you from? I am self pay as well (That sucks). I to didn't want people watching me lose the weight I just want them to be surprised. Thanks for all the Hellos. Any advice is always welcome.
