    Dumping vs frothing

Im in the same boat. I had a few licks of my fork with an egg and mayo mash and feel like something is stuck. Ughhhh. Did it ever go away?Yes it took like 2 days. I drank 1 teaspoon of meat tenderiser 2x and gobbled down some Papaya amino pills and it finally got better. Spit out the foamies don't swallow it makes it worse. It will pass so give it time. Yes meat tenderiser sounds yuck but it works. Another person who had a blockage recommended it and it helped a lot. Tasted disgusting (salty) but softed the food and was able to pass it.

    So. Much. Pain. Help!

I am sorry to hear this. I had a horrible hospital experience as well and discharged myself the next morning after surgery. They messed up on my meds and I never received all my pain medication. If you are home you are better off. Try your best to sip liquids, sugar free popsicles was what helped me a lot. Hang in there, I promise it will get better.

    How long out of work?

I only planned for 1 week then I had a setback and ended up two weeks. I was exhausted my first day back but after a few days gets better. But I do go home tired. Just drink your fluids and incorporate your protein and you can go back 1-2 weeks with no setbacks. I am 36 so I bounce back fairly well.

    SEX!

Both my husband and I did surgery together and on same day. We are 3 weeks post op. He was roaring to go by end of week 1. I however had a setback but 2 1/2 weeks in I was roaring. But we had no restrictions. Just listen to your body. Also, communication is a big part of relationship and honesty. You should tell your partner.

    Hair loss?

I am 4 wks post op. I noticed because lack of Protein my hair fell out a lot especially during showers. I don't have bald spot but it is thinner than before. I started taking Biotin and found a biotin shampoo/conditioner for 1 week now and notice my hair is not so fragile.

    Dumping vs frothing

I have been nauseated and spitting up a foam/slimy spit. It is because you either over ate or have a blockage. I was having cramping pain too. I am barely 2 weeks post op and was tired of soup and jello. I started soft protein way too early and I am paying the price. If the pain doesn't get better I am heading to the ER.

    July bypass

I had surgery July 24th and I am down 17lbs.
  12. For those veterans out there. I am approaching new food stage of "soft proteins". Other than lean meat, cottage cheese, tuna/egg/chicken salad and scrambled eggs. Any other suggestions or recommendations?
  13. I am 10 dayd post op and i am experiencing the same with numbness on fingers. It gets better but if I move around it doesn't happen as much. I had an IV in each hand too.

    Straws

I am 6 days post op and using straws did cause me to have more gas pains. I guess everyone is different.
  15. My surgery was July 24th and it is getting easier to get down liquids. What hurts is the burps and hiccups. Each day I get down more fluids. Chicken broth for me went down so much easier than the water. But switching between crystal light and water. Try sugar free popsicles and jello it helps as well.
  16. I spent one night in hospital. Both my husband and I did the surgery together. We only needed help because we cannot bend so well. But you should be fine on your own.
  17. For the veterans out there. How did you get through it? I am day 4 and so hungry still. I eat more sugar free Jello and popcicles but i miss feeling full. Diet is 2 Protein shakes and one meal of 3-4oz protein with 1/2-1 cup of a veggie. I can mix it up. Any recommendations, advice?

    Feast before famine?

I start my pre op diet July 7th. I made a list of places to eat because I know I won't eat there for a long time. So enjoy the food funeral!
  22. I have only met my surgeon 1x and I deal mostly with the office staff. I usually email or call them weekly (I am sure they are annoyed by me, lol). I have severe acid reflux and GERD, so looking forward to seeing how RNY helps me. Good luck!
  23. I am excited too. I got my date of July 24th.
  24. Wow. This is so inspiring! Awesome work girl!
