Great question! I don't eat seafood but can tolerate tuna salad. I fear a life of only having chicken after surgery. Hopefully I am one of the people who experienced a change in taste buds.

I throw in a boiled egg (extra protein), light mayo (or light miracle whip) and some diced pickle. I also will cut a boiled egg in half and put the tuna in it like a deviled egg. Extra protein and it also pacifies my craving for bread or crackers.

I am starting my 5th week post op and can have canned fish this week any good tuna salad recipes out there? If I missed the board for RNY recipes my apologies.

I really like this woman's site and blog - she has come up with some marvelous recipes that I look forward to trying:

Here are two I found there:

1) Shelly's Dill & Onion Tuna Salad

1 can (5 oz.) Albacore Tuna

2-3 Tablespoon Greek Yogurt, plain

several dashes of Dried Dill

dash of Oregano

2 Green Onions, diced fine

Salt & Pepper to taste

Mix till well blended.
