This is kind of funny. So a guy starts texting me online and he's like"- I love how thin you are. Staying fit is very important to me. I'm attracted to thin to average women but NOT overweight women. I am very visual and overweight bothers me. "
So I can't help myself. I respond and let him know I used to be obese.
He's like.... Waaaaaat?? Ummmm ummmm well I still want to go out with you! Because look how you look now!!!

Intriguing list of disasters... for some odd reason I feel that the gay cowboy story needs more elaboration. I mean, it is 2015 - why is he dating women? oh, so many questions.
I feel your pain but I have to admit, your collection of oddballs are odder than the ones I met.
What I want to know is what it is about "fake" bikers that attract them to me? I am talking about the dudes with corporate jobs who had a midlife crisis, bought a big expensive harley, got big (might I add poor quality and ugly) tatoos and insist on wearing leather everywhere you go? I met one on a dating website who immediately began talking about how I should get tatooed. Theyseem to be the ,main ones who ask me out, or ask me to dance or whatever from real life encounters also. I look at my girlie girl self, no tattoos, normal ear piercings and think.. why me?

Ah.... so much to look forward to in the dating world... I dont do online dating, I have in the past and it was horrible. I'll just hold out for the good old fashioned way . just meeting people. I know thats not very ambitious but I also am in no rush. Love the stories though lol I have a fair share as well!

They aren't looking to date, they are content with their lives.

So far I've had the guy who showed up to dinner with no teeth and one who still lived with his mom (he was almost 40) who were the BETTER dates. Another took me on a hike but spent the whole time talking about his ex, then left me standing in the parking lot looking for my keys. One lived in his ex-wife's basement, smelled like cheese, and drove around the neighborhood screaming profanity at people (I lied and said I lived close by then walked almost 3 miles home late at night).
The last one takes the cake, though. He said he thought he might be facing impending homelessness, and my mouth engaged before my brain and said, "well, if you can't find something fast enough, you can spend a few days on my couch until you find something else" (because who on earth could say, "gee, sorry" and watch someone sleep in a tent, y'know?). 6 days later he showed up with all his stuff, and now he won't leave...it's been almost a month. When I figure out what to do with him, I'm going to stop dating for a while, lol.

@@Sajijoma I always had a boyfriend so the only time I really ever had a "date" was after I had talked to this guy on the phone for hours. A mutual friend of ours thought we would like each other so he called after a few weeks and we talked for days. The first night I ever met him I had him come to my besties house. I was a single mom at the time so there was no way some strange man was going to know where I lived. He came over dressed in tight-ish pants, round glasses, a black turtle neck, with checkard shoes. He sat on the couch with his legs crossed. My friend Christina was like 'ummm no, I'm pretty sure he's gay". Nice but gay. I was nice. He drove in a ice storm to come meet me. After about an hour of chatting he left. I didn't think I would ever talk to him again after that.....5 years later we got married! It definanly wasn't "love at first sight" but we connected on all other levels. He got me with his thoughtfulness and communication skills. Now 8 years later I just wish he'd shut the hell up. Oh and we got rid of those clothes....except for the shoes, they are tokens in my closet.

My worst bad dates range from one-night-stand STDs to attempted rape. Seriously, it's amazing some of us keep trying.
Spoiler: Twenty years ago I found the love of my life online. He is amazing and perfect for me. We are both so very, very lucky.

"laughing" Oh my friend. At least she was honest and you did not waste your time or energy on this woman. I doubt if you will get the $70 dollars back. Have a good laugh out of the crazy dates. Keep your options open. I hope you find someone that you can relax and enjoy companionship with.

Who doesn't like a good horror story? As we approach Halloween, it seems like a good time to recount our favorite dating horror story. I hope this will inspire those who are wondering if the grass is greener in the single world to work on their relationships .
I meet most of my dates online. I like to email, text and talk to them on the phone and then eventually meet for a quick coffee date. You would think with all that screening you could figure out who's sane before you go out to dinner. <Sigh>, not always.
I had my first dine and dash last month. We were supposed to just meet for drink, but the conversation got really good and I really liked her company. It's actually a good sign when you can get lost in the conversation for so long, so I suggested we grab dinner.
One of the things she said that "getting her credit back after her ex's irresponsible money habits was important." As things would happen, my main debit card was still at the outside bar, and I used my other one to pay for dinner. Opps, forgot had an automatic payment post and the card was declined, not a problem, I just used the credit card. Bill paid.
I go out to outside bar to settle up, she was following, paid that, turned around and she was gone.
After a few minutes of wandering around looking like an idiot, I texted her to find out where she was so I could say good night.
She texted back, that "I told you credit was important to me, and your card was declined so I left." I told her, "well that took real balls to just take off like that" and then I sent her a bill for her half of the meal and drinks since she was so concerned about my financial condition.
Actually the $70 'she owed me' was probably a cheep price to keep that one out of my life.

Well I can't speak on anyone's marriage, it's not my place but what I will say is my ex never noticed when I lost weight either until I dropped 180 lbs, that being his ass.....trust me he noticed then.

1st. Congratulations on your weight loss.
2nd. Don't know what to say about your husbands insensitivity. He may be jealous. Not really sure.

ok, so to the outside world, doesn't seem like a positive headline, lol. but for me and us here this is a major positive milestone! I am 187 lbs currently, down from 308, and a BMI of 49.9. At 185 i will have a BMI of 29.9 and move from the "obese" category to the "overweight", category, so yes, overweight is exciting lol. Now i dont know if agree that just 30 lbs over what BMI says should be a normal weight, labels someone as "obese" as I look healthy now and most friends and family dont think i need to lose anymore weight. Also when the surgeon asked what I would consider a good end goal, i said the 180s and he thought that was a good goal. To be in the "normal" BMI range i need to be 154 or less.if that happens great if not i am happy with myself and progress 10.5 months post op. So yes, i will Celebrate becoming "overweight" lol

Where do you live @Jerr_Berr? Some travel to Texas and use the clinic I am using (Nicholson clinic) as they check for hiatal hernia (most obese patients have at least a small one and they'll find it!) and will use your general surgery benefits for most of the cost with then add on a small cost for the sleeve separately that they allow you to pay out at $100/mo.

I get what you are saying. I really do.
But destroying the trust of someone by "quietly cheating" is never okay. And besides, women know. They may be in denial about it, but in hindsight, they always knew. Nothing "quiet" about it.

Nope, hasn't happened. Good luck with that though. I'm married so there's no way in this world I would allow or tolerate a "don't ask don't tell" kind of relationship. I'd rather be alone than be in something like. You will never find one person who will completely satisfy every cell in your body. Trust and respect play a huge role in my relationship. I wouldn't trust or respect my husband if he even thought about doing something like that. I wouldn't stay with a man that thought it was ok for me to do something like that either, it shows an extremely lack of self respect for ones self to allow someone to do that to you. Self confidence is a very attractive quality to me. I defiantly wouldn't want to be with a man who thought it was ok to do that to another man either, that's not a man in my opinion and not the kind of person I would seek to have any kind of relationship with. If he'll do it with you he will do it TO YOU! My morals wouldn't allow something like that. Hey that's just me though. We all have to live our own lives, do you.
