  1. I wonder if I could be approved for a panniculectomy or brachioplasty at my current weight (or maybe a little less).  I can not take these flaps anymore!

I have no issues with rashes or anything. It's just heavy, annoying, and embarrassing.

BTW, I'm not looking for insurance to cover it...

Oh well then just start getting quotes. I wanted to get to a certain weight before I had any surgery because I want some fat transfers so I won't be losing after I have surgery but if you are self pay, you can get someone to do surgery on you. Do you want it in Chicago or are you willing to travel? Girl, PM me. I have a whole list of Drs for you.

  2. Hey y'all!  Still plugging along.  I see something have changed.  :-)

My arms are bad but only it I am making a T, And who does that really in real life. They are okay down to my side. I wear 26 inch hair and that easily covers my arms, lol

    3. her1981

      her1981

LOL! Mine are so bad I can't wear blouses unless I buy a 22 or 24 and I need an 18 in the body.

    4. OutsideMatchInside

      OutsideMatchInside

Yeah I pretty much have to buy sleeveless dresses because I can wear a size 8 in dresses as long as it doesn't have arms, if it has arms I need a 10. I wear blazers or other jackets.

If I only get one plastic surgery it will be my arms

  3. Had my 18 month follow up with my surgeon yesterday. I've lost 164 pounds. He said that it's up to me if I want to keep losing weight, but he is pleased with my progress and told me to lose until I feel comfortable. I'm far from a healthy weight, so I will continue to try to lose...

@OutsideMatchInside I won't lie. I did fall off the wagon for about 5 weeks and quickly regained 16 pounds. So after Thanksgiving, I recommitted myself and have lost 17 since then. I really see how it's just a tool and the first 6-9 months are a jumpstart to keep you motivated. I'm never going back to 400+ pounds. I've invested too much.

@WLSResources/ClothingExch Thank you for the encouragement. I have a tendency to be really hard on myself. I'm kind of a perfectionist. I hate to disappoint anyone. Thankfully, he was proud.

      WLSResources/ClothingExch

Hey, Her, fie on the surgeon. Let's hear you say that you're proud and full of yourself. I know all about not measuring up to my standards for myself. Shall we both take a vow to cut it out? It's a new year and new day.

    4. OutsideMatchInside

      OutsideMatchInside

Yeah it really just is a tool. You can eat around it so easy. The beginning just gives you a jump state and hopefully helps you learn good habits. Congrats on losing after a relapse and not letting the relapse take over.

  4. The scale is pretty much standing still, nevertheless I am continuing to work with this sleeve. I have not had a single carb or sugar since November 25th. I quickly re-lost the holiday gain but have been at a standstill for a couple weeks. 18 month appointment with my surgeon on 12/30. Praying for a 3lb miracle, lol.

I'm thinking about trying a fat fast. I've been trying to figure out a meal plan. You did it for 10 days? What did your meals look like?

    3. OutsideMatchInside

      OutsideMatchInside

No I did my fat fast for 3 days and it broke my stall

    4. OutsideMatchInside

      OutsideMatchInside

You can only fat fast for 3 to 5 days max

  5. Lost 3 more pounds!!! Changed up my food and got things moving again. I'm thrilled! :-)

  6. Officially down 160 pounds! I was already low carb, but I'm finding that my tolerance for carbs is nil. Now, onward to my goal. :-)

why 9 months? a wedding? some other event? just asking because if you give yourself a timeframe, you just set yourself up for possible failure. don't do that to yourself my dear.

to get to doctor's goal before I'm discharged from the bariatric program - and going to Disneyland. I'm still at a weight where this goal should be possible (277) with a lot of hard work.

    4. her1981

      her1981

Doing well. Losing VERY slowly now. I had to work on my mental. After losing an average of 10-15 pounds a month and then suddenly only losing 1 pound a month is very discouraging. However, it seems it's starting to pick up again.

  10. I have a shopping/hoarding problem... after donating and giving away tons of bags of clothes, I've still managed to sell $1,000+ worth of clothing, with more stuff to get rid of!

#9grammy Me either. I'm more selective than I used to be because I have more options. I don't settle as often just because it fits.

  11. I went to get my rings re-sized yesterday. They fell off at the pool last week and that scared me enough to get it done. From 9.5 to 8!

  12. Why must I be a "big arm bandit"? My arms are HORRIBLE and make me look so much bigger!!!!!!

    1. OutsideMatchInside

      OutsideMatchInside

My arms are big but they are looking better since they have tanned in the summer. Plus it seems like wearing sleeveless stuff draws less attention to them than short sleeve, so I have been in sleeveless tanks and tops a lot this summer

      her1981

I wish... mine hang really bad. They were huge before and still huge. :-(

  13. Ugh! I don't know why my sleeve hates eggs!!! Every time I eat them, I feel like I need to puke. Which sucks because I really like(d) eggs. :-(

Well like @OKCPirate said, you have recognized it, so you can take action. Find someone to talk to and find an OA meeting if you can. There should be plenty in the Chicago area.

Well you did better than I did then! I gave in to the cravings I am afraid! Still WAY less than I would have in the past, but still..... Start a new job tomorrow and the anxiety is getting to me. So kudos to you my dear for sticking it out with the carrots!! You got this!

  17. That feeling when you're no longer self-conscious, walk with your head high, love how you look (in clothes, lol), and no one can tell you ANYTHING. I still got plenty work to do, but I'm definitely feeling myself. Happy Tuesday!

    1. OutsideMatchInside

      OutsideMatchInside

Keep that head high! You have done great.

  18. My first "real" stall. Same weight for about 6 weeks. Not totally discouraged, but it's annoying. Dr says stop eating the same thing everyday, so I'm going to try mixing it up. Here goes!

    1. Valentina

      Valentina

    2. Djmohr

Changing things up for me always seemed to break my stalls and I had many before reaching goal. It still will be frustrating.....but be patient, you will get there.

    3. Chianti

      Chianti

I had that same problem, I changed up the foods I ate, added more high protein shakes and smoothies and tried my best to walk over 10k steps 5 days a week and my stall broke. Went from 240 lbs. on 7/12/16 to 235.6 as of today!!! You can do it, stay encouraged and if you need someone to chat with, I'm here!

  20. Moving along.... I guess this last 50-60 pounds is not going to come off as "easily" as the first 150+. But I have to laugh because I can not complain, at all!

      Djmohr

Yes, you are right. Isn't it strange how that works? I think the last 30 is the worst and you have to work your butt off to get it but it can be done. It just depends on how badly you want it because you will have to work hard to get there. Be diligent on your food plan and keep moving your body. I honestly did not think I would ever lose all of my weight but I did and even a few pounds more. Best of luck to you! Chin up, focus on and move on forward!

    3. WLSResources/ClothingExch

      WLSResources/ClothingExch

Hey, stop that. What matters is that they will come off. You'll get there. All of you!

It's crazy because I've lost 150 pounds and I just don't feel like it. I think I'm still in denial about how heavy/large I actually was!

    3. OutsideMatchInside

      OutsideMatchInside

I never felt like I was fat, but now I definitely feel smaller. If that makes any sense.

    4. Daisee68

Yes about denial! I am still shocked at the people that don't recognize me because I just never realized how heavy I was to begin with! Great attitude!! Keep up the great work!

  23. Went to Dunkin Donuts for my iced coffee fix: "Can I please have an iced coffee with cream and sugar free toasted almond?" "No sugar?" "No thanks, I'm sugar free" "Would you like a donut?" Well, damn.........hahahahaha

      her1981

I was sugar free before surgery. It's a pretty common thing.
